  1. In Pam Radiomir 183H can replace the belt?

I have read in any post that can not be, is not it?

Piberf, do you mean replace the strap? You certainly can.

If you look at the picture via the link below (thanks to Matte) you will see the four small screws ,one by each lug, carefully remove these and rhen gently pull the lug wires out, these are bent onto an L and simply pull out of the strap.

Pop them into you new strap, reinsert into the case and CAREFULLY replace the screws....Voila!

  2. Whats the current story with the wobbly lever mechanism that was written about when this watch first cam out? Is this still a problem or have the factories fixed it?

I have the same model from PT and can confirm that the lever is a bit floppy, however if you pinch it tight with a pair of parallel jawed pliers it's fine.

  3. Hello Everyone,

Well I finally received my Chronofighter yeasterday and as everyone else has stated this watch is amazing! I wanted to play around with different strap options, but I have a question. I know the straps are 24mm but they taper down to 20mm at the buckle and all my PAM straps are 24mm down to 22mm. I really want to use the Graham buckle (it's nice and solid) does anyone know of any straps that are 24mm down to 20mm? Thanks for your help!

    Regards,

    Andreas

    Hi,

You need a strap that's compatible with a Breitling Super Avenger.

    Just my $.02

  4. Guy,

    Back to your corners.............now!

Did anyone notice she went to a lot of effort (bait & switch the paps with a sex doll!!!) to get David a very special Chopard, She may be a bimbo, but she shops in the right places

  5. I came across it's website and it seems a pretty good publication, although I haven't seen it on sale in the usual UK outlets. Anyone read it? Opinions? Where can I get it in the UK?

    ta

Try your local Borders, they can order it in if they don't stock it!]

  6. I usually don't post here (or anywhere other than The Shortest Thread Ever, for that matter), but I couldn't help being amazed at what's happening here:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/EMERICH-MEERSON-WATCH_...1QQcmdZViewItem

I myself was interested in acquiring this watch - I already have a smaller version, and it's a nicely-designed little piece.

But...although I figured that it wouldn't go above a hundred dollars or so, several people seem to think that this quartz-powered gold-plated Patek-inspired watch created some thirty or forty years ago by an obscure French house is worth some serious bucks!

When new, this watch originally sold for around one hundred and fifty dollars. It's never been considered a collector's item, and I'm wondering what the devil has gotten into the two main bidders.... As it stands, it could easily go to a thousand.

Is this just a case of shill bidding (the seller has since added three other pieces of the same marque), or does somebody know something I have yet to figure out?

(By the way, someone tried to sell a decent used version of the same a few weeks back on the bay and couldn't get even one bid :bangin: )

The seller has opted for 'private' bidding so it's almost guaranteed to be a setup and you can't even tip off the highest bidder.

And this system is meant to protect the buyer <_<

  7. Hey,

So when they create a Scottish Republican Army alll those American Scots romanticising over the 'Old Country' can subsidise their fight against the Evil British 'Overlords'!!!

Be sensible, there is no way Scotland can become truly independent, unless we rebuild Hadrians wall?????

  8. About ten minutes after seeing that the number had been drawn I remembered to check my numbers!

To my suprise I had tickets 81 to 90 and the 2nd prize winner is 84!!!

I noticed that Epoch has announced this now so I'll have to decide what to go for, my wife prefers the Navitimer, but I prefer the Solo Tempe Ferrari, Suggestions???

  9. I heard that it's legal to sell reps on ebay in the United Kingdom, as long as you state that it is a rep... I'm not sure of that, as I am no English lawyer and/or a queen.

    Corgi,

    I'm ashamed of you!

NO, It's not legal to sell reps in the UK, nor is it in France!

    Report it,simple as that!

    Rob

  10. Yes, I've been in contact with the dealer and I'm confident that the problem will be resolved. Otherwise, I'd have mentioned his/her name here and complained. I'm probably the world's most impatient person so after 3 weeks of listening for the delivery van I'm getting a bit :Jumpy:

It doesn't normally take that long. does it appear on Parcelforces website? If so, what does it say, If it hasn't appeared on here it's likely lost in China, ask for a replacement.

If its showing as in the UK then ring Parcelforce and 'chase' it using the UL tracking number PF gives you.

This usually wakes them up, but last week my watch went via Nottingham as it went in the wrong van at the airport!!

If it says it is with Customs in Coventry DON'T chase it, it may, or may not reappear!

  11. Rob,

Go and see Sean at "Watches To Go" in Piccadilly Underground Station. He's a grumpy old sod, but he does all my work, normally on the spot and rarely charges. Its a tiny little booth in the centre part of the station. Not too hard to find. He opens every day at about 11am until 6pm

    Tom,

I will go and seek him out next week!

I assume I will have to leave this with him, as it will take a while!

    Rob

  12. He placed a screwdriver in a vice and locked this screwdriver in one screw. Then he got a tiny screwdriver with a very large handle (you need this for leverage he told me - with a small one it will move around in your increasingly sweaty hand) he managed to jimmy it the screw on the other side.

    Good luck.

    Tom,

I wish I could! Mine doesn't have screws, just soft as @*it 1.3 mm head hex bolts, As I said 1 head dropped off when putting it back in!

It looks like need a watchsmith in London that will work on Reps and has a drill stand and a 1 or 1.2 mm screw extractor!!

Failing that does anyone know where I can buy a 1 or 1.2 mm screw extractor?

    Rob

  13. But it does open one intriguing possibility - when it says arms, presumably the public also have a right to keep advances in modern weaponry such as to defeat the military. I kind of like the idea of Bill Gates having his own stealth bomber tucked away for emergencies, or some kind of Dr Evil island in Hawaii.

Thank you for this much needed levity in this rapidly decending into 'farce and stereotypes' post!

I've always seen 'Uncle Bill' as an architypal Bond Villain, but you are right, he really could be 'Dr Evil' So does that make Steve Ballmer 'No. 2' ??

  14. US Society as a whole is much more tolerant on diversity issues, especially racial ones, than it ever was largely as a result of the mindset that created the social welfare state you so decry. You see it everywhere.. more interracial dating, greater diversity at senior corporate levels, etc.. the assimilation of people of color into the middle and upper-middle classes...

Do you honestly think so, I've travelled the States extensively and found many, especially at lower social levels to be more ignorant, ill informed and bigotted than anywhere else I've been (Even South Africa during apartheid). Many are hugely ignorant of World history, as a Brit I lost count of how many times I was told (with great delight) how someones granddad saved my [censored] in WW2.

I meant my earlier comment about education, Jeez how can a Nuclear Power allow individual States to teach Creationism, doesn't that cause confusion in Chemistry,Biology & Physics if God created everything and Dinosaurs are all a crock o'****? , What hasppens if a kid moves half way through high school, doesn't that blow his/her mind??

Even Georgie though that Europe was a 'great country' until he got elected and had an advisor point to us on a map and explain that we've had Civilisation for over 2000 years, not just 200ish, remember we settled over there, not the oher way round :-)

Almost done.... Your media needs to show more World events, and not just the bad ones, and make TV shows more accurate, you shoot someone they die, they don't go " it's just a flesh wound, I'll be fine" Kids REALLY do believe that ***t.

Finally.....The US is nowhere near integrated, you just have slightly more diverse Ghettos and have created new ones by building all your 'Gated Communities' with their Mexican domestic staff (all illegal, but HEY, I can't afford an American gardener/pool cleaner, do you know how much they want to be paid!).

You can sling anything you like at me, this isn't a 'We're better than you' post it's a 'wake up and stop defending the indefensible' post.

    Rob

  15. In certain cases, yes.

Oh, like those sneaky ones in Iraq??

Seriously, don't you see how hypocritical your viewpoint is?

To the rest of us it seems that the US wants to control everyone elses Nuclear Devices .

Can you tell us why ? (in less than 1000 words, remembering it was called Mutually Assured Destruction for a reason :-) )

We've had our Empire and let it all go, we don't have the need to indulge in 'Gunboat' politics anymore.

If those sailors recently held by Iran had been US Citizens can you imagine what would have happened, it would have been Stephen Coonts on steroids! But would Georgie boy have had to eat humble pie like Carter in 1980? Most likely, after all these big boys toys don't seem to work as well in the real world!

Lets end it here, this is going nowhere

    Rob

  16. I can't help jumping in here: this is so simplistic that any kind of response is impossible - other than to point out the total inanity of the statement itself.

    This is really hopeless.

I'm suprised, Is my statement not factually accurate?

    1. The US has a major Oil need.

    2. The only Country to use a Nuclear Dvice in Anger is the US!

I have been responding to a member who is concerned about Iran having a Nuclear Capacity, I have been expressing my concerns regarding the US attitude towards anyone else having the same.

Please tell me why this is simplistic, or are only Americans intelligent enough to discuss WMDs?

    Rob

  17. Please re read my edited post... I am not as US Centric as you make me out to be.. I travel abroad frequently and was a frequent vistor to Canary Wharf during the 80's and 90's. I am quite familar with the effect the IRA had on the local population and remember the street bombings and the lives lost. If the IRA had nukes back than, they very well might have used them except for perhaps concerns about the collateral damage those symphetic to thier cause. Simlarly, if Iran gets them they too might very will use them... they are a terrorist state ...but they will not be so concerned about collateral damage...

I appreciate everything you're saying and I feel that we have succeded in calming down from a 'Dull Roar' and actually talking!

I still can't agree on the Nuclear Issue, the US are worried about Irans intentions toward the US,whilst the whole world is worried about the US's intentions toward Iran.

But, let's not bog this down with further talk of WMDs, lets move it back to smaller scale weaponry!

    Rob

  18. You cannot seriously be comparing Israel to Iran in terms of their responsiblity to the world community. I understand that not everyone stands behind Israel.. I do not always stand behind them either. But if you are honestly proposing that the world community is as save with Iran possessing nuclear weapon capability as they are with Israel, you are quire frankly out of your mind.

Some of the posts here demontrate a form of bigotry at least im my mind people feel empowered to engage in because it is easy to pick on people who are not underprivledged. We are not all a bunch of gun toting cowboys shooting it out at the local saloon nor are we a bunch of neanderthals incapable of discussing the issue in an intelligent and reasoned fashion. And it is not the first time I have detected this bial here and it leads me to sometimes wonder why i come.

    EDITED for clarity.

I don't see Iran as the threat you do, but I'm not from a Country thats desperate for oil! Just remeber that only one Country has ever used Nuclear Force in anger!

I am certainly not picking on anyone 'overpriviledged' I am well aware you are not a bunch of gun toting cowboys but many of you are still defending your historical right to bear arms 'because it says so' . It's like alcoholism, you must acknowledge you are powerless before firearms before you can discuss getting rid of them.

I brought the IRA and WW2 up because many American don't understand exactly how the Brits feel about these subjects, We had years of being attacked in our own homes with US provided weapons.

I hope this helps you understand the 'other view' slighrtly better.

    Rob

  19. Completely agree guys! Lets ban religion and welfare ;)

    If only!!

Religion, that's more controvertial than any other subject here, lets not go there!!

Welfare, this is meant to ber temporary to assist the person until they get back on their feet. Unfortunately it breeds contempt, We have whole families that think its OK to go on the dole!

You forgot Education, If we can ensure the next generation get a good, well rounded, education (i.e. not one where there aren't allowed to be taught about Evolution) then we are almost there. Will it happen.....Nah

I worry for my son, I truly do.
