  1. Kruzer is absolutely correct, I received a completely unexpected OVERPRICED trade in to convince me to get a gen in this tough market.
  2. Nice one Lani...and I might be following Theo on that strap choice dave
  3. This looks great, just ordered one from Angus...I think Lani has the right idea, superlume by Rob. How's the AR, good enough as stock rep or a chief double AR?
  4. My old case 196 came with a swiss movement from EL that way, maybe a question to The Zigmeister since he owns my old 196. I don't think it swapable though...
  5. Looks nice, I've been looking for an IWC replacement ever since I sold my fully modded 3717...actually I've been on the hunt for a used gen Big Pilot, but at this finish, this looks like a nice pickup.
  6. Pretty badass and ballsy at the same time...love it . I have a gen 212j I've been debating about PVD/DCLing for many months now...I think it would look kick ass, but once done...it will probably be always in my collections so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.
  7. Who knows, but you're better off buying from someone trusted like Monex or some gold coins. Damn, 2 months ago, I decided to stay out of the stock market...it's pretty much where it was back then...but I should have jumped in on Gold, it was trading around $810/ounce not too long ago.
  8. Another beauty Simon, it's good to see so many of us finishing out 28 PVD projects. We should all do a GTG, that would be an amazing table shot of 28s
  9. Nice one Simon, always wanted to get a 24 shiny A i love my gen 24i, but something about the shiny bezel has me...
  10. PLEASE fix...it's been awhile since I've been excited about a new rep...this is one of my grails for sure!
  11. PATEK AP ROLEX VC IWC JLC PANERAI IWC BREITLING
  12. Very nice Simon, I too will be taking a dip in a Vintage project one day...like all mod projects, the journey is as rewarding as the finished product. Enjoy your special piece. dave
  13. The BS is very good, mine's up with The Zigmeister for a relume to fix the dots...but I found the finish and craftsmanship top notch. I would have posted pics but...Lani is doing such an amazing job with pics, why bother
  14. That looks HOT, doubt anyone has a gen to compare the color too...a looker nonetheless
  15. Rob and Jen have always been amazing to work with, I think each of my full mod projects only entails 1 email for multiple watches in a shipment, sometimes 2. 16 emails back and forth for a watch project that hasn't even started is excessive . Rob probably saw many more emails inquiring "did you get my package", "is it there yet", "are you done yet", "did it ship yet"? In my manufacturing biz, that's one reason why we don't take on new inexperienced clients and we're not open to the public. We take referrals and choose which clients we want to go after. This is due to the fact that a new inexperienced client takes 10 more of your time than a client who knows what they want. It's nothing wrong, it's just the way it is. I'm sure you're a great guy and it was your excitement and newbiness which led to all those emails and questions.
  16. Love the 332...I've seen some great deals on gen 212s on Timezone and thought about possibly DCLing it but...not ready to pull the trigger. I think I like the older 28 better, but it's still a beaut
  17. Yes, the conspiracy beliefs are nutty , but the do feed off real trends and events...and the truth is that not only is the US economy in trouble, but so is the global economy. I'm actually surprised more people/media are not highlighting the fundamental problems in so many sectors. I guess I'm surprised that I'm alot more sensitive to what is going on as well. It's kind of like "waking up" from a daydream that you keep telling yourself that it's going to be okay... Over dinner with my family the other night, conversations were going back and forth about picking up more property at these "great" deals. Normally I'm the first one to get excited about this and push forward, but I'm all about being prudent. The winner in a negative/bear market is one who loses least. The GF was a little shocked that Mr Optimistic was slightly doom and gloom...but you can't ignore the reality of what is going on. Brian, I would have LOVED to hit the conference a month ago with you...we'll need to do a GTG soon
  18. Hey Warren, I would go for it. I have the Gen SS Skyland and recently picked up the BS from Angus, by all accounts a great watch, only issue the lume dots which Rob will be fixing shortly. I'm hoping the BS color is accurate(I haven't had a chance to compare with a gen). With the Black Steel and my modded PAM 28, my darkside needs are satisfied. I would have it on my wrist if it wasn't on it's way to Rob as we speak. I picked up many new and used swiss 7750 movements that have been apart of many mod projects, it's funny how relatively inexpensive they were only a few years ago. I'm sure you picked up some nice deals in the past too, so it may not be as expensive of a project...plus you have a dealer rebate coming your way. dave
  19. I've been out of the market for a long time holding dollars, but with my view that the dollar is on a downward trend, gonna pull the trigger and take some physical gold positions. This should be interesting...
  20. Is it time to start buying gold?? I was with a couple buddies earlier in the week and they've been buying some gold bullion to hedge, a small amount of their portfolio...but it got me thinking...
  21. Best group of watch enthusiasts around, only getting better
  22. Nice, LOVE that 127! I'd love to see a side by side with an EL 127 if someone in SoCal can do it I love my gens, but still love my reps. I've been wearing my dad's gen LV Green Sub since he passed in November, but I think I'll have to strap on my 24i when I get home for some other sub love... dave
  23. Canon pin and superlume completed by The Zigmeister 2 years ago, and on a oem black calf 26mm strap so I guess I'm in good shape. Haven't worn it forever, but I think it needs to come out and play :victory:
