  1. I just got my first rep recently, so everything is new to me. Your reviews have helped out a lot. I'd love to dive into it buying tons of watches but at $400 a pop now after shipping and CC fees, it's hard to buy more than 1 every other month.

I go through hobby cycles every 3-4 years. I was into buying pistols/rifles/machineguns and got bored with it. Then I got into cars and modding them, then got bored with it. Then got into home improvement and got bored with it. My hobbies are just too damn expensive. I've got a gun that costs me $25 for every 3 seconds I shoot it. Now I'm starting to get into this stuff.

You might need a break for a while and you'll come back to it eventually.

  2. + 2 for the Breit B01, black dial with roman hour markers, first watch that came to my mind.

42mm case, very sexy sport watch.

    This is the one.

44.5mm actually. Big but not annoyingly big.

Honestly the best thing to do to find a model you like is to go to an authorized Breitling seller and tell them you are shopping for watches for your birthday and want to give your wife ideas for her to come back and buy. Mine came with me and was a great actress. Don't go in dressing like a clown either. That's what I did and they talked me into a Super Avenger (fits me well). Just make sure you know your models and don't pick something that there's no rep of.

  3. The logic of some people :whistling: ....

Worst that can happen he loses it, so he's out like $350. It would have cost him that much or more to have it serviced with parts. So even if he lost it and had to buy a new one he would break even. Andrew is the man, but let's hope the guy that fixes it isn't the one that put it together. I hope my SA stays together, knock on wood.

Heck Breitling even charges $500 for factory service plus shipping and parts on a gen watch.

  4. Oooff! Is that a tiled floor below where your kid is balancing the watch?!

Hey the SA looks good on your wrist. So what version is yours? I had a v2 once, and apart from the bracelet, I thought it was superbly made. Couldn't fault it

It's actually a vinyl floor that looks just like tile until you touch it.

From what I gather it's a Noobfactory v2. Pretty happy with it so far

  5. Check out the size of this thing on my wrist......

Ha ha just kidding, that's my 1 year old wearing it. This is mine. Excuse the poor photo quality. I have 8.5" wrists and I had to adjust the bracelet smaller. I got extra links for nothing.

It's the 2009 Super Avenger from Andrew. From what I understand it's made by Noobfactory. The lume dots are a little off, don't care. What I found most disappointing was the quality of the ProII bracelet. The whole underside of the braclet is rough and not polished, not unexpected I guess. On the clasp right below where it says Breitling there's a divot or dimple stamped into the clasp on the visible side and it's not polished, it's rough. I guess you really don't see it, but still. The watch unit itself is really nice. I've worn it for a day and the bracelet is all scratched up already. The shiny finish is a scratch magnet. From 3 feet away the thing definately looks gen.

The QC photos said +/- 17 seconds. I asked Andrew to regulate it and he said he would. I set the watch 24 hours ago and it's about 45 seconds slow right now. I guess it wasn't regulated. Maybe its not charged enough, but not as accurate as my $200 Seiko. It was 7 seconds off after 12 hours. We'll see if that gets worse. I was afraid to wind it too much.

It's heavier that the gen I tried on 2 weeks ago I think. I weighed it in at 271 grams, I wonder how that matches up to the literature.
