  1. Hi all, I have recently purchased the ZF116500 from Trusty and am wondering if anyone here attempted fitting that case with a DD4130 or knows if it will fit? https://trustytime88.io/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_6&products_id=26907
  2. Seiko diver daily beater today.
  3. None. I hope it is in fact gold and not something else yellow
  4. So about a year ago I picked up two completely tarnished watches at a local flea market. Both automatic, one Herna and the other one Delbana. Just the other day I remembered I have them stashed in the drawer and decided the time has come they get a spa. I started with the Herna. Decased it and started polishing the case. It had a slight goldish tint but I didnt think it was anything more than plating, and since the watch is circa 1960 it was certainly looked like the plating was wearing off. The case had really deep scratches and dings so I didnt spare the dremel sanding disk thinking I would soon get to the stainless steel. Well... Soon enough I realized I wouldn't and that the case is pure gold! I polished it clean, probably loosing a considerable amount in the process. And the result is amazing. Unlike the Debana, which came with a working movement, the Herna has a broken stem and since I am not a movement expert I cannot tell wether it is in running condition. The hairspring looks undamaged. And hopefully it wont take much to get this beauty running. You just never know when tarnish may turn into gold! Pictures will follow.
  5. Nobody? Not even Andrew?
  6. Can anyone identify what model this dial comes from? Cheers, K
  7. Too bad I cant take it flying As for tennis i was thinking something more in the direction of Time will show. Ill do some experiments and post results. I saw pilots around the forum before and was hooping someone tried this out before.
  8. I guess I will have to test it. Im concerned about a high vertical G for a short period of time. Say 5+
  9. I meant g-force of course.
  10. I'm wondering how high G overloads affect automatic movements. Could it affect oscillations and the hairspring? Thanks for your insights!
  11. Amazing work! It always fascinates me when you guys start putting drills and pliers to the watches and ruin the cases to ultimately create something even more beautiful. Major respect.
  12. Is anyone able to answer the question about the AR strength and scratch resistance on these different types of crystals?
  13. How does the strength of the AR coating compare between the gen crystal the Chiefs and Taka? How can one contact Taka? Hope this info will help also the original poster!
  14. Not to diminish the weight of the thread, but all this was worth it just for the picture above. Amazing shot, anywhere from the hyena to the guys ss watch. Perfect!
  15. I didnt, and I dont believe my post implied that I did. Having that said, "walking on thin ice" can't be too ambiguous regardless of who it's refering to...
