  1. Hey guys

I'm just about ready to pull the trigger on my first PAM rep and just wanted to check with you guys on this final detail.

I've set out to get a PAM111 but dont know which model to get, as far as I know there's the M, J, and H. The H has the 21600bph movement but the M and J are supposedly better (newer ?)

Havn't seen any reviews or critiques of what is wrong with the H.

Between the M and the J though I think I'd rather go with the J as I am not planning on modding any time soon and the crystal on the M is suppose to be much better.

So which is it, the 111M or 111H that's "better". I know this stuff is pretty much to each his own but I'd appreciate any input from you guys.

Pam 111J by noobfactory is out of stock and if I am correct won't be made anymore. The 111M does have the better crystal but according to many the 'less' accurate font color dial (to grey). Also the 111J has a better movement while the H-factory movement, well just search it ... hope that helps.

  2. Hi Gianton,

when you say "dials relumed" are DSN not as per Gen? If so, what should I be asking for if I should purchase DSN's 202A and want to have those dials relumed? I am fortunate to live very close to The Zig and have had several watches serviced by him and would not hesitate to have him relume this project for me.

I would like to learn these types of details, hence why I spend most of my time on the forum.

    Thanks.

    This will explain it all:

  3. Hello Fellow members.

I've long wanted a 5218-202A and over the last few months I've notice DSN and DW offering up their versions.

I realize that building one myself would be the preferred method, but I unfortunately lack the patiences and the knowledge to do so. (If a member has a 202A build they are looking to sell PM me) :))

If you didn't have the time to search, purchase and build your own, which one would you purchase and what minor changes would you make to give it a more Gen look?

    DSN:

    DW:

I appreciate in advance all comments and thoughts.

    Thanks!

OOB you really have no other choice to go the DSN route, from what I understand it is the most accurate OOB on the market, although I am not familiar with DW's offering's.

There are several members who will build you this from the ground up which will not be matched even by DSN but be prepared to spend a pretty penny on it. From my research and as I understand it, this will be your best build-up unless someone else can throw in their 2 cents to make this even better.

    111J or 005K case set

    005K crystal

    Jakob Custom CB

    Swiss 6497 movement

    FGD dial & hands

    Avitt DLC

    Hope this help's you.

  4. If you don't know what a SSD V2 should look like, why bother buying one?

Simple, when it comes to SD's it seems that the SSD V2 is the most accurate representation OOB and the one most people modify. I just find the DSSD to bulky for me and I assure you I have spoken to BK/PD about it already and choose the alternate route of the SSD (if I ever find one). I def. wanted something different from my BK/PB Sub that I currently have.

For the rest of the guys thanks for your support and understanding.

  5. I have been searching for one for a short time now and finally someone said they had one for sale. But since I am new to this, here are the pic's and I let the experts decide. Any thoughts and help is welcomed before I spend money on something that isn't even close to what I am looking for.

  6. Gratz on your new Sub. Future suggestions are Gen Crown, Gen Bracelet, Gen Crystal hmmm Superlume most def., Replacing the hour hand. Aside of that it becomes a money issue Gen movement ofcourse can be added, all to your liking.

  8. nooooooo, very sad

I agree it is very sad :/ There goes my shot for my holy grail. Then again, we can always hope someone else picks this up and continues. I think I am going to cry in a corner somewhere.

  9. 026 : Good out of the box rep. Excellent price. But Destro CG and movement could be a prob.

009 : Pretty good out of the box but a new dial/hand job may be needed (FGD dial + hands) if you really want this rep to pop.

+1 or you can wait like I am for the 360 :)

  10. Thanks but that doesn't tell me much. What I am curious about is the variances in the variety of factories etc. For example for ages factories have released PAM's but when H- factory started releasing their Ultimate line of 005k's, 176/177 it put all other factories to shame. (I know this is the Rolex forum).

Now the same question I am attempting to refine by comparing or understanding WBK models of the DSSD vs the Noobfactory models or other factory releases (such as Milguass factory 1:1 version). I know this was done with the Submariner showing that the WM9 outclassed the Noobfactory model hands down based on "Crown Etching," "Clasp etching" etc etc etc. Well with all the new Ultimate and Super DSSD reps out there, I was wondering what people's thoughts are.

  11. I have recently been interested in Rolex watches and still I am learning a lot. It is so difficult to keep my head straight since I see one watch and head over to that particular forum and start studying and learning about those models etc. Anyways- I have always loved the classic Rolex and been interested in a DSSD. But I am torn and still learning on what I should pick up etc. So here is my question and you can educate me.

That was an interesting thread about MBK in the earlier sections someone asked and it explained a lot, but still I am confused, are these watches also manufactured by these individuals.

I have been looking at various "Ultimate" or "Super" versions of the DSSD and I am confused which one to get. Which factory is sourcing the best 'out of the box.' I am not asking which dealer but actually which company. Because I see certain dealers source a variety of the same watch with various prices and even 'similar' YET not equal description.

Ok sure, correct '10' at the bezel is a given, but are there any side by side comparison's done similar to the Noobfactory vs WM9 'Sub's? just for the DSSD? Hope I can spark some interest and even a review maybe unless its already done and I am utterly fail.

  12. Thanks for the feedback.

Yeah since then I have undergone a lot of reading and viewing and my final choices are narrowed down to the new Pam 360 released sometime this week. Check it out unsure of release date. If possible a 177M (with the new modified Platinum movement being offered.) I will keep people posted once its actually ordered.

  13. Although you can DLC Ti, there are no Gen's or reps that do this.

If you oxidize the Ti, you can get a nice dark result. Do a search for Oxiclean in the Panerai forum.

Researching as we speak. If it turns out well or I see pics with good results, might just get a 177m modded and do this. Let me see :) Thanks dluddy.

  14. No, the 026 is steel... (oops, I see dluddy answered this already)

I have the 26k, and it's the best rep I've received stock standard.

It's my daily wear and virtually indistinguishable to the gen.

It's a bit odd looking, and feeling at first, but it's quite unique looking and really grows on you after a while.

I sometimes wear on my right wrist, but it's quite uncomfortable, sort of like dressing to left, or right, but opposite than what you're used to. :whistling:

Thanks for the correction and you are right the 26k is indeed steel. And yes you are right as well most of my research indicates that the 26k is the best in stock out of the box. But it just looks so odd I can imagine it being on my left hand having to reach over the bezel to make an adjustment or play with it or whatever. Just strange.

I ran into this and was wondering what your guys thoughts are.

Little darker then 026k but everything on the right side. I hope more people post. I am just so torn.

  15. Thanks, I was figuring as much but I keep listening to hear what others have to say. I just don't want to get something and realize regardless of the look on its own, it still has to look good on me :) So what choices do I have left?

How many Titanium version come in a PVD/DLC? I mean it would be amazing if the 177m came in PVD.

  16. Thanks for correcting the links btw. The watch looks amazing. Out of curiosity how much do you think what spend for that Franken? Also are there any Mark XV in the works correcting what Eun. stated are actually easy fixes, without having to resort to a Franken? I am just to new and have no experience in modding (two left hands so to speak) to want to even try.
