  1. Watch arrived. Some interesting aspects to the design. Hands + sec dot are superlumed. Pearl + markers and 06 + 09 are lumed but not as strong as hands. Uni directional bezel clicks and very smooth. Fits 8" wrist. I removed 1 link and moved clasp pin to fit 7 1/2 wrist. Clasp hard to figure out how to open smoothly (tight lock mechanism). Kickstand crown lock is locked in place. You twist rear case counterclockwise to unlock. Took a couple minutes for me to figure that out. It was difficult for me to adjust time. You pull crown out and date changes quickly/smoothly. But to get it to move hands I had to work at it. Still not confident with that but it just arrived yesterday.

You can manually wind it apparently (first pull of crown).

Finishing is very good. I am very pleased with this piece. May compare to b&r 02 and Pam 318L (my other reps) @ some point.

  2. An expert could chime in, but seeing as pam makes their own movements, the see thru caseback is likely the biggest tell - of course on your wrist noone will see it. I just compared to some gen photos - there are a few differences in the movement, but still a good job overall and 99.99% of people will not know what the gen regatta movement looks like.

  3. I think it will wind down eventually. As long as your friend is having fun I think it's ok for now. Personally, I have all kinds of bills to pay but am eyeing up the explorer II, the 386, and the new 4000m diver.

I think if you both set a limit, say 8 watches, then you can't add another without selling one first. That's what many pen collectors do.

  4. I recently purchased a BR 02 orange pro dial - I am wearing it right now - I like it more as I wear it more. I wore in pool and in ocean - it does appear to be waterproof to 30 meters as suggested (although I was nowhere near that deep).

No lume at all to speak of. - That would need redone if you want your watch to show up in the dark. Outside of that, it looks and works well.

1 quirk is if you reset date, when screwing down crown again date will flip one more day - so like I set it to 16 today, I put it to 15, tighten and it ends up indicating 16.

Keeps near perfect time (so far), second hand is smooth.

I am going to get it relumed before doing anything else (like getting a 2nd strap).
