  1. Fantastic review Edge. I just received mine in the mail yesterday and wanted to share a few thoughts. My comments below sound negative, so let me preface the comments by stating this is one of the best if not the best replications available today. The overall finishing and attention to detail is amazing. The fact that the Gen is over 15K makes it even more remarkable. The new Noob Pams are impressive as well but those are of 7K gens so I think this is more impressive for that reason. Bezel brushing is SOO much better than the previous seconds at 12 AP ROO Chronos, overall the entire case is much better finished. The strap and buckle are very gen like as well. It really seems gen in this regard. The inner bezel mechanism works well. Dial and hands look great. As long as your bezel lines up, which fortunately mine does, there are few flaws. Negatives, some of which I have not heard much about: Blue AR on the cyclops (much talked about) ; factory is just wrong on this one, it is too blue and does bother me a bit though not a huge amount. Really just a dumb mistake here though, especially since Angus was asking them to go with clear like the maiin crystal. Crystal AR clarity: I do think they should have coated both sides. The crystal a is is not gen like in clarity, the gen is single sided inside AR only but uses a better quality crystal and I think the difference is noticable. Using double sided AR on the crystal would have been a better solution IMO. As is from too many angles I see reflections more than I would on the gen. LUME: what is up the lume and why is no one else talking about this. I have received most all of the new Noob pam releases made in the past 12 months and when advertised as Super Lume it does appear to be Super Lume. This watch, while it is nice that they lumed the inner bezel, the quality of the lume is only slightly better than the previous REP Lume we all used to know so well. Sorry as much as I love the watch and think it was worth every penny and more I think this was falsely advertised as Super Lume and honesty in advertising should account for something even in the rep world. I understand this is C1 vs. C3 or a C1-C3 mix used on Pams but it does not glow as much as gen C1 dials I have with much smaller indexs on the dials (BCE stick/baton dial as an example). So my conclusion, NO SUPERLUME was used on this watch. Price should be $40 higher and they should have used SuperLume or at least don't sell it as Superlume when it is not the real stuff. Overall the rep is so good, I am undecided if I should keep unmodded or send to Vac for a relume of the dial and inner bezel. If I did that I might be tempted to have him AR the crystal and cyclops as well. I would miss having the watch for the months that would take, so I am on the fence. I do not regret the purchase 1 bit though.
  2. Caribbean ??? These reps are from china
  3. Just took delivery of mine this morning. Such a great watch and rep. Always exciting to get a new watch, but 2 things really stand out to me: 1.) the build quality is really outstanding on this 2.) this is the most comfortable watch on the wrist that I own. It really fits like a glove. I never felt the AP ROO chronos sat well on me, always worn a little too tall to be comfy and I hated the deployant buckle. I did get lucky with a perfectly lined up bezel, but on my QC pic I noticed my 5 in 50 on the bezel lume looked a little spotty, same as Anics is showing in his pic above. and also on mine thought there might be something very slight with the triangle lume. I approved it and said nothing to the dealer (Angus) but now that I have it in hand, there is no way I would ever see that issue in person. The bezel is really magnified in those macro QC photos. I agree with making sure you get a lined up bezel as that is important and they are available with perfect alignment, but don't sweat what looks like minor lume imperfections on the inner bezel numbers or triangle, you will not see them under regular inspection (un-magnified) Only think that bugs me is that stupid BLUE ar on the cyclops.
  4. Not to the same extent as the new v3 diver, but I think at least the black themes is a solid money maker for the noob factory so I would feel more comfortable waiting for that model than a less common variation that may also be out of stock But Watchmeister I do agree especially with us signing up in droves for preorders with full prepayment Worries me they will start to question keeping old inventory stocks
  5. I believe they will make them again but couldn't even guess if it is more likely to be 1 week, 6 weeks or somewhere in between
  6. I agree with Babola Some of your mods I touched on I understand why people would do, others made no sense for this watch But best thing to do is keep this one as is and mod another watch Buy a nice leather strap though (not a rep leather strap) The rubber strap is good but it is better to have an option or two Buy a good screwdriver for easy strap changes too
  7. All seconds at 12 movement watches are made by 1 factory (noob) More of their watches are on back order than in stock Andrew is good about PayPal refunds if you decide to go that route due to lack of stock He will refund you no questions asked (well maybe 1 or 2 questions but he is good about it)
  8. Asian all the way on this watch the non eta Swiss upgrade is barely if any upgrade at all Maybe for $50 or less anything more is just not good value
  9. My advise Asian movement Don't touch the crystal Don't touch the Lume Cp should come already flattened and polished Have the movement serviced not just regulated Get the y incablock mod Get it waterproofed The watch otb does not need most of the mods you are taking about
  10. They have been out for years so I would venture to say thousands of us have purchased them I have owned 5 different models personally They are pricey but if the watch appeals to you, I would say they are well made and worth the price
  11. What dealer sells the royal oak chrono for $500 plus? Op may be talking about seconds at 12 offshore chronos or may be using a non trusted dealer that is a ripoff Either way op needs to provide more info if he wants helpful answers
  12. Josh is perfect clones Zig is The Zigmeister from this forum and is a modder/watchsmith in Canada
  13. Looks good to me Under close up macro inspection the bezel lume minor imperfections show but that is true on all of these v3 watches Not seeing any issue with mis alignment and anything with the screw heads seems easy enough to fix (and I don't see anything to begin with)
  14. The rep movement for the I series rep pictured definitely not as decorated as yours and does not have the regulator
  15. Open back means visible tells The movement replication is never perfect The movement I suspect you like on the 111 in terms of decoration and appearance through the open caseback cannot handle a date function; it is a manual wind style movement / pocket watch style movement Same as the gen it cannot handle a date Any panerai with a date rep or gen has an automatic movement
  16. Some pics of the opIII movement do have engraving repeated as long kaiser mentioned But I think panerai made the movement both ways and yours looks good to me based on some pictures of the gen movement The hands are the biggest thing telling me gen right now, usually the rep hands have rough edges and your hands look perfect the lume also looks very evenly applied most reps up close don't look so even
  17. I think it is a gen but am not positive The crown guard, dial and hands look really good to me Not too up on my 104 reps but if this an I series I assume a rep would be a couple of years old and not have the regulator yours has so if nothing else it would be a rep with a eta 7750. Caseback engraving looks good too I am really not positive but it looks gen
  18. Each little detail change signifies a different model number for Panerai Look through them all and see which one most catches your eye, from that point only can you then start to pinpoint which version and factory maker you should look for on a particular Pam model number. If you like the 111 but want a date function, then look at the 104 for example.
  19. total bs coming from J&A about a new "ultimate" diver They either don't have access to or are refusing to sell Noob factory products becuase of their production/stock issues. So they have decided to bad mouth them and try to sell other products, been going on for awhile now. "ultimate" model, who would make it? The V1 was crap from the Chanel factory, Noob factory made the V2 and the V3, so that would mean a brand new factory trying their go on a V1, you really it will be better than the Noob V3? I assume they are hinting that the H factory is making it? Same thing happened in reverse with the 390 H factory did an awesome job on that watch, yet noob factory sellers spread rumors that the Noob factory was making a better one and not to buy the H factory version. Well here we are how many months later and no one ever talks about a Noob 390 anymore. I just recently put my H factory 390 dial/handset/movement/caseback on a Noob 111N case/cg/crystal and couldn't be happier with the result.
  20. Yeah I ordered/paid for mine beginning of April ; and it just shipped 23rd of May, so the long wait for me is hopefully almost over.
  21. permabull: I don't disagree with you, but that way of thinking means you will not be getting a Noob factory watch anytime soon, unless second hand. They are making the best watches quality wise right now in the industry. Maybe they will forever operate in this manner moving forward or maybe they will get caught up and keep stock again, but right now they are making watches in small batches that no where near meet demand, so if you want to get one of the watches you pay first, join a list and wait. Instead of getting caught up they keep releasing new models, so it seems like they are content with that model and maybe they find it more profitable rather than sitting on inventory.
  22. Here is how to post a pic, even a noob can do it. Take a nice photo of the dial, one showing the Crownguard and one more of the caseback. sign up for a free account at photobucket.com upload your pictures to photobucket copy the IMG of said pictures, 1 IMG per image hosted on photobucket paste the IMG links to this thread and your done, very simple.
  23. Here below is the thickness/height difference of the gens in pictures, as watchmeister states the gen difference is very small in height. On the rep the ROO Chrono is a couple mm taller/thicker. Chrono on the left, diver on the right
  24. No one "stocks" them. So far the following dealers accept pre-orders for them: Angus / Puretime & Toro / Toro Bravo Once preorders are all filled, which could take awhile ; definitely weeks possibly months, I assume stock will be available to Hont as well as many other dealers. I am not sure Andrew and Josh are dealing with the Noob factory now, likely they will when stock is better but right now my take is they prefer not to sell backordered watches so are just saying they are not available in an attempt to sell watches they have or can get immediate stock on.
  25. Sorry for any confusion (pics are of gens, both of them) and not mine Reps are the exact same size (other than case height on the chrono) I posted them for size comparison
