  1. Looks interesting, quartz, no mention of sapphire so probably not. Wonder how the lume is?
  2. True, but Link would look good on a strap. Carrera is a bit more pricey but looks a bit dressier if that's what your after. I figure you'd need to get additional links anyway. FWIW, I hear that the rep links fit the gen....
  3. I guess it's just like we always say, if you like it then go for it! Otherwise for the specs it appears to be priced in the same range as other chronos. It's hard to tell if it is the month at 4:30 or the day. In the pic it looks like it says OCT or October but could be wrong. For some comparables check out the Tag Link Chrono (my personal fav): or the Tag Carrera Chrono a bit sportier: If your really flush check out the offerings from Zenith:
  4. Wow, impressive. You started a thread and had the entire conversation with yourself!
  5. Ok, so it's not that it's all that ugly as it is not proportioned correctly IMHO. For a 44mm case the dial is so small, should have a smart bezel with larger dial then it would be perfect.
  6. Most of china is only today returning to work after the Chinese New Years celebration. ie: all of china basically shuts down for two weeks.
  7. "Committed" is probably more like it....
  8. Honestly can probably get a replacement quartz movement for decent price and just replace it and salvage the watch. If you can figure out which movement the watch had just look on Ofrei
  9. I dunno, it sounded good in my head before I typed it....
  10. Hey, what do you expect we're not quartz guys. Even sillier question, is the dial on upside down? Meaning the 12 o'clock where the 6 o'clock should go?
  11. Maybe the earths polarity is reversing which will cause the earth to stop spinning growing all of its inhabitants out to the depths of space and your watch is trying to warn you?
  12. Mike has so many watches he not only has a closet for them but he's forgotten he has bought some of them...
  13. Silly question, but any chance he just put the battery in backwards? ie +/- reversed?
  14. I'd be ok with shipping from HK vs Italy, however I'm just not sure what US Customs would charge as import tax. Any US guys have experience with that? I know there is an amount that if over they charge tax when traveling, I'd imagine it to be the same when shipping.
  15. I look at chrono24, it's kind of like porn but for watches.... Don't know if I'd buy from Italy, but it is much cheaper. I'd just be afraid of the shipping, I hear that their postal system sucks. I wonder what the import tax for that would be and if it be about the same price and just give you peace of mind to buy from a conus seller? And I agree, don't need vintage Rex reps if your going gen black bay
  16. Mike - what gives? One week your broke next your buying a gen black bay. Did you win the lotto? Swiss Luxury has them for about as cheap as I have seen them online. $3000 for bracelet and $2800 for strap. http://www.swissluxury.com/tudor-watches.htm Haven't tried the bay......
  17. Nice one mike! Looks a bit like the Pam Ferrari.
  18. Sweetness! I'm still on 32bit XP so I can't try it out but when your able to release it for 32bit OS I'll definitely give it a try!
  19. Sometimes versions come about because of wanted improvements, sometimes they're simply because they ran out of the previous version. If you want a part from TC check his website as it lists his stock status.
  20. Well I can say that I also had issues with pureti.me returning an email well before CNY. That's why I choose to use a different dealer and not return my business to puretime.
  21. First off, presuming that the watch was packed well and that it was running well before you sent it I would offer a deal to go halvsies on a new movement and have him to get a quote for a movement + labor and you PayPal him the cash. Otherwise you can offer him a partial refund after he ships the watch back to you and you buy and replace the movement and resell it. Since you sent it in working order it's not fair to have you bear thus full burden of this, shipping is rough on movements. It is also why I try to make the disclaimer that watch is in good working order before I send it out, I am not responsible to what happens to it once it leaves my hands but that I package the watch with plenty of bubble wrap. I also make a video of the watch running for a few minutes, and a video of me packing it so that if there is an issue later I can refer the buyer to it. I've never had to use it but it gives me peace of mind that I can show that I did my best to prevent any issue during shipping. Best of luck.
