'74 Buick Regal...my Aunt gave it to me in '85 when she got her new Monte Carlo SS. I sold the Regal to a gang banger in L.A. in '88.

@lovepanerai - Great colection. After reading most of your posts with the high-res pics, I wondered how they all looked as a group. Good job! If you're ever in L.A., I'll probably see you at one of our local "watchaholics anonymous" meetings

@ lovapanerai - your pictures are always exceptional...I think there is a new Canon with macro lens in my future.

@ Cypher - The watch came with this strap from the AD...all of the Timewalkers that I have seen have basic leather or croc, but this one was really unique...I've seen it referred to as a "retro" leather strap. The watch is a year old next week...birthday present from my wife last year.

All of us whose wives and GF's can appreciate eye candy are lucky...my wife: "Babe, what kind of watch is he wearing?" and "wow, she's hot".

Great pics and review Clive...wear it well. Wow...I think my 96 year old grandmother could read that dial! I was all set to get the SS, but now I'm thinking about the PVD.

I know this is a prototype and I am sure some changes will be made, but I thought I would point out a couple of obersavations on the case back:
1. The production/serial #'s on the gen are different.
2. The depth rating on the gen is 100m, not 300m
Gen (could not locate an unmasked one):
Thanks!

I found another guy who play`s the canon in D, just a little different. Man he has skilzzz.
That's awesome isn't it? I posted this version along with Jerry C's version (the original, I believe) in an earlier post:

Two of my favorites!

Wow...excellent review and pics. You really captured the quality...it looks right at home alongside your gens. This is now on the short list.
Thanks!

Well In questioning which PAM to add to my collection (currently have an 005 and 212) I've decided that i want something with a sandwhich dial and while I really want a 47mm watch in my collection I'm leaning towards either a 111h or 177h currently.
I think the 177h would be a great addition as I don't have a titanium watch at all in my collection but I'm concerned with how the watch makers are creating the titanium finish on the watches.
I'm guessing it's not real titanium. My concern is that the finish will wear through eventually showing a different finish on those wear areas. Is this a potential problem or am I worried over nothing?
Thanks
I have a half dozen Ti watches...all gen and I have a rep 177H...it's definitely real Ti from my perspective. I would say go for the 177. Since the most recent PAM reps that are Ti in gen (Slytech chronos and the 194) have been repped in stainless, it's probably a good bet that the factories are moving away from using Ti. I belive Davidsen is working on a few Ti reps, so you may want to look into that.
Good luck,

HEY I JUST TURNED 39 LAST MONTH & i play better now than when i was in my 20's .
hey belive me you will get the beat it solo ..
its just 3 pars tapping / hammerons & the rest are lil cool frazes
im gonna upload my version of evh beat it solo on you tube this weekend , when i do ill send you the link ..
do you have any of your work on you tube ? if so please post it ..
PHOBAND also has lots of good stuff on video ..
as for influences for me is the mighty EDDIE VAN HALEN ..
i know he's not doing to well these days but hope he recovers fully & gets back to his awsome guitar playing ..
i read some where that eddie is writing music for porn movies
& recently i saw a disturbing eddie van halen guitar solo on you tube & with all due respect to my guitar hero , he sounded just awfull ., it pained me to see him play like that ..
heres the disturbing video .
Happy b-day...I'll be 37 in 2 weeks. Please do send the link when you get the solo on youtube. I haven't posted anything there yet...it's my goal this coming year to get back on track with my playing.
Ouch, that EVH clip is not impressive...he's had better hairstyles too.
Thanks!

When I can play this and EVH's "Beat It" solo, I will stop saying that I casually play the guitar and probably call myself a "guitarist".
beat it guitar solo is not that difficult to play ..
i can play it along with afew EVH solo's ..
its just a matter of practice practice ..
now that cannon thing is another ball of wax ..
if you like i can send you the guitar tab to beat it guitar solo ..
good luck
this is me playing EVH eruption solo on you tube
Your Eruption solo is very good. You're right...practice is key. I practiced intensely when I first started in 1985, but I was 15 and had nothing but time. I really slipped as I got older, but lately, I have been playing a lot more. Thanks for offering the Beat it tab...I have it, but I'm not ready to tackle it yet. You and I probably have many of the same influences!

I'm not sure if the rep has poor lume or no lume at all, but the lume on the gen is not very good...very thin and not bright.

The Sportura line has been out for a while...I believe before the Ebel. They're actually pretty cool looking.

Yes and Yes...I would want them both!!! Beautiful watches IMHO...and may I also add the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Compressor Extreme World Chronograph - not exactly a GMT, but there is a GMT indicator:
Not sure that rep movements exist which could work for these though
I checked out the 1911 BTR chrono at an AD last week and it seems smaller than it is...probably because it's relatively thin (compared to PAM's).

There are a few (million) versions of this, but these two are my favorites:
(I believe Jerry C's was the original)
(This one has a different groove, but gets weird towards the end)
When I can play this and EVH's "Beat It" solo, I will stop saying that I casually play the guitar and probably call myself a "guitarist".

I attached a shot from PureTime's post as well as a picture of a gen as a head-to-head comparison.
According to Angus's post, the pictures he took were actually of a gen that the watchmaker purchased for replication. I can't wait till the rep is done .

Those Greg Stevens straps are awesome! Do you have a link I'd love to get one on my 177-H. By the way that would be my recommendation the 177 all the way!!
Thanks...Yes, Greg's straps are amazing. You can check out his blog @ http://gregstraps.blogspot.com
PM sent.

Well, Davdsen's PVD is real PVD, while the so-called 'PVD' on usual reps is not.
Even rep 'PVD' is harder to scratch than SS, though.
Real PVD is even harder.
As for accuracy, palpatine's PVD should be the most accurate around, as it is performed by the same company that makes the PVD treatment for the genuine PAMs.
About your 028: it seems as only the bezel is rep 'PVD', while the case real PVD.
Is it just because of the picture?
I think it's the picture.

I have a 177h and I love it, but if I had to choose, I would go with my PVD's. IMHO, Davidsen's PVD's are the best around. I also have a PAM028 PVD from one of our trusted dealers that is really nice, but Davidsen's PVD coating seems more authentic and durable. BTW, Davidsen is working on several titanium PAM's now.
Davidsen PAM004 on Greg Stevens strap:
Davidsen PAM195 on Greg Stevens strap:
PAM028 on Toscana Strap:
Good luck in your choice.
