  1. I was looking at the Clark crystals and they look great! Looks like a T-19 SuperDome is the way to go!
  2. What is the difference in these? I believe they are the same size. Is one thicker than the other one or? I want to install a super dome on my tudor sub which originally takes the Tropic 19.

  4. To be honest the dial is horrible and it looks 100% fake. It looks like a quartz version which does not exist. It might also be the smaller 42mm size instead of a 44mm. Don't spend your money on this. Save your money and buy a nice one. You will be much happier. Our dealers here have a great selection.
  5. I had the same problem on a HBB I owned. It was the case/movement clamps. They were tight, but they were bent and would no hold tight against the case. I bent them slightly and it fit tight again.
  6. Is the t-19 and the t-39 the same crystal with the exception of the t-39 being a super dome? I want to replace my t-19 with a clark super dome, but wanted to know if I should order a t-39 or? It is for one of my 7016 Tudor Subs.
  7. Looks like that movement needs a servicing bad! Not a bad price considering the work that went into the watch for a rep of a $25k gen watch. With proper sourcing you could find gen parts and get it very close!
  8. Replica...they never made this variety...besides it screams FAKE!
  9. Here are some quick pics of a vintage style Explorer I I picked up a few weeks ago. The only thing missing that is a tell tale sign is the no hole case. Oh well, it still looks good and wears well!
  10. I have a copy of this book too! It is a great reference for the early Daytona watches! Sometimes on the bay they come up for sale for about $150+-
  11. NICE!!!! It is eta powered? Where did you get the hands? The orange hand is the proper length....I love it!
  12. I purchased one from this guy too and it was good quality. I just installed the rep clasp on it and it has lasted for two years now with no problems.
  13. They are a great replacement for your rep band. I do this to all my two tone sub reps. You can buy a replacement crown and tube on the bay at a reasonable price. Usually the bezel you have no problems with wearing.
  14. I contacted this guy about 2 weeks ago. He was very short with his answers. He did tell me that this is the second one that he has tried to sell on craigslist. I wonder what the serial numbers are on the case? It does not look like a phong case or does it? http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2062.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2063.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2065.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2066.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2067.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2068.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2069.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2159.jpg http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p286/ar...55/IMG_2160.jpg
  15. Interesting...Freddy you have some of the same catalogs I had back in the day for reps! I had some faxed copies of their items. Reps have come a looooonnnnnggggg way!
  16. Here is my 25 year old Rolex Rep. It still even has the gold plating still left on it!!! It was quartz and is about 3/4 the size of a gen. It is funny now to look back and see that the band is actually rolled links! Back years ago, they would import watches into the US that looked like Rolex watches and label them when they got them in the US. Many times you could see where they used paint to cover up the previous brand name on the watch! How far reps have come in a few years!!!!! I hope you enjoy part of the original history of Rep Collecting...
  17. Take out the date wheel and replace the dial with a no date dial.

    Rolex SUB

I agree...an Explorer dial in the case would make a nice looking watch! I am sure it would cost lots less than ND Trading's price!
  19. Looks nice, but our Rolex watches are closed caseback, so relibility is the real issue here. Did they add some jewels to the clone ETA movement or? We shall see...
  20. My watchmaker has already refunded my money!
  21. Yes, it has the date function already. I am trying to put it in my 1655 that I am currently building.
  22. All the 1575 movements I have seen are marked 1570. So what exactly is the difference in these movements? Is there any different parts on the movement for the GMT function? If so how hard is it to modify a 1570 to a 1575? Thanks!
  23. I think I might just do that. He charged me $40 for it.
  24. My largest concern is the crown being the same color as the lume on the markers. I don't think I have ever seen it this way on a Rolex dial...
