Thanks, I'm glad it inspires you. I am still madly in love with it. Whenever you decide to start I'm here to help!

I'm just not used to those kinds of reality being from Canada, socialized medicine has it's faults but the benefits outweigh them. I'm very saddened by this, you are in my thoughts as well.

Hambone, I'm so sorry to hear this news. Is that pill really 1000$ each? How many do you need? Why on earth do the drug companies think that's ok? I'm disgusted to be honest. I would like to help but it seems like a big goal to reach just for one pill, is there anything I can do? "At Gilead we are inspired by the opportunity to address unmet medical needs for patients living with life-threatening diseases around the world. - " Really!? At 1000$ per pill and 84000$ per treatment, I can't wrap my head around this

The early pcg subs had dial diameters that were a fraction smaller than the case. I'll send you a link with some of that info later, I'm on vacation!

Yes genuine

It's a rep of a 3700, that one had thin hands and a little but of a diff date wheel... It was the first nautilus I believe The biggest tell is that it's supposed to not have a seconds hand, but that can be fixed!
-
I prefer the older ones, they have the closed caseback and no hole in the bracelet where it meets the case, it has a few flaws but overall better imo. The band even though not as refined matches the old 3700's, the rep 5711 bands are all visually wrong Link: http://www.ttw888.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=39_199&products_id=2007

The only thing genuine there is the us made 19mm band and the 1030 movement. Fake case and everything else.

No problem, the Swiss only dials were the post 86 replacements for a while and because they used luminova they left the t or t<25 for tritium out
-
Are you asking if it's a genuine dial? It's a genuine rolex 5513 swiss only service dial.

Thanks, I looked it up and it's very cool, like the rolex turn o graph's. I was hoping it was for a 222 jumbo, but it's not It came with a dial, champagne that matches that model you referenced.. I grabbed it from my local watchmaker thinking I could make something old and sporty and automatic! He loaned it to me to do the research, I'll give it back since it's not something I can use

Dome is what they would have had from the factory, the service replacements were more flat

Hi guys, do any of you know what I can do with a vacheron k1072/1 movement? It's in a few pieces but I have all the parts. Is this something I can use? I know it's from the late 50's early 60's but I'm not sure if it has any practical application today, I don't like dress watches, anyone know if any early sports model used this? Thanks

Help! What do you think about this 5508 case set?
cc33 replied to ThePunisherXIX's topic in The Rolex Area
Ah ok. Imo judging by the marks on that dial it sat just barely touching the case, so the larger 27.8mm dial should fit perfectly. No harm in waiting and measuring it though. -
Nice new car droptopman! So which ended up getting to you first? That watch you ordered or the car?? If you ever want more power you can add a pulley kit and a tune, it's not the cheapest mod in the world but it's a great one http://www.goapr.com/products/pulley_30tfsi.html You have to tune it for it to work but it adds up to 80ft-lbs and 108 horsepower at all four wheels

Help! What do you think about this 5508 case set?
cc33 replied to ThePunisherXIX's topic in The Rolex Area
Stick with ndt, or mq for the dial. Insert is up to you but the red triangle is correct even though it's not a perfect copy. You can wear it on a NATO or yes try to find the better thinner yuki band. Go for it, 5508's are beautiful but most avoid because the cases are too thick, they don't have the right curves or casebacks.. You got very lucky with this one. -
Thanks, I think you may be thinking of the 5711's this is trying to be the old 3700 jumbo 42mm which had the smaller hands but no seconds hand, ultimately I'd love to swap the date disk and remove the seconds hand ohhh and age the lume!

Help! What do you think about this 5508 case set?
cc33 replied to ThePunisherXIX's topic in The Rolex Area
I don't see the retaining ring anywhere, you need that to have a properly working bezel. The set looks great, it needs a gen crown imo. The dial is not nice so ndt would be a better bet. Go for it! Just so you know, the engravings are not great but the curve of the case is spot on and the caseback is correct (hard to get right), the bezel is very nice too it just needs a gen mk3 insert eventually to get it looking perfect! -
Thanks, it's one of my favourite watches too. She wears really nicely, I've had 2 of the newer ones and now this older version and I think this one is a better bang for your buck. It's has the closed caseback which I like and the band feels way better out of the box. The newer ones have stiff bands out of the box and need "massaging" they also have that extra hole on the band where it meets the case which looks funny. I'll get some more pics tomorrow if it stops raining!
