I hate that word reprint or redial when talking about fake dials, they were printed once, putting re before the word dial implies that it was a real dial once and has now been reprinted on its original plate.

Don't know about any of this but I've seen old (genuine) military dials that when decommissioned get "hole punched", not sure the reason but it appears that the ebay dial has also been "hole punched".. I don't know if any of it is real, but that's something that stands out for me Example of punched dial Drstrong was selling here was the description 2. A Tudor 7922/7924 dial. It's the large size with curved shape. It was NOS, but a genius in the French Navy workshop has removed the feet and drilled some holes on the outer edge. My watchmaker has fixed it, but the repair is not perfect. It will look nice on a watch though : 2500 Euros

Ok I'll stop! Lol. You are making a good decision, make it yourself or gather the parts and have a professional make it for you like I do. It's way more satisfying and you end up with exactly what you want. The tropic 17 superdome is essential, it will be 450$ shipped, I'll let you know when one is available, next a gen crown helps to pull off the look, you can find one for not too much dough if you try and it will fit on a phong or Minh tube so no problem there. A great fat font insert is easy to find and imo important to the overall look. Phong's bezel is nearly perfect, I'm anal and prefer the gens but nobody will know except you.
