  1. Hey guys, can a few of you report this please. Bidding is up to 5000$ and only one guy on rolex forums reported it with me.. It's still up http://item.mobileweb.ebay.ca/viewitem?index=0&sbk=1&nav=SEARCH&itemId=200928700178
  2. The rainbow effect is the lights hitting the watch crystal. The 4 line dial is mounted in a case but the 3-6-9 red depth is not.. I still see the rainbow effect on the 3-6-9 so I guess it's the light reflecting off the lacquered surface of the dial
  3. Thanks, using iphone5 with olloclip lens
  4. I just got a new iphone macro lens and tried getting a few nice close ups. Not bad for a phone camera!
  5. It's the 3rd time you've mentioned that now. That behaviour will get him banned for life that's for sure. Why bother telling us, the mods will not respond to juvenile behaviour, he's going about this all wrong
  6. I always liked him, this place was very colourful when he was here. To his credit he has made sizeable contributions to the forum in the past, before his second was born and he loves it here like we all do. I know he drives the mods nuts and I will respect their decision on the matter but I for one think he should be here. Was there a probation period or was this a permanent ban?
  7. Very nice Freddy, that's my fav one of yours. Gorgeous!
  8. Imo it's way overpriced, he's really reaching with that price. I see them all the time for 400-500$ on vrm there's no difference. It will not sell unless someone completely ignorant buys it
  9. I'm sorry, I take it from the 40-90k you quoted that you're making the Newman version, in which case Minh is your only option
  10. Honestly, if you are going all out why not pick up a gen dial on vrm? They can be found for around 2k which is a lot of money but you can always sell it for the same if not more than what you paid down the road.. And it looks way better. One watch with gen dial and hands would be better than two with mq dials imo.
  11. Dw is David Wong the only seller of a7750 daytonas, cases and dials with proper subdial spacing and functioning, they come as auto winds but can be converted to manual wind. He is notorious for sending the wrong parts or no parts at all so be very cautious actually don't bother, find one from the sales section or from a member. The v72 cases he offers are the cheapest and best bang for the buck

    6538 4 line

Thank you! Ya I was hoping to have it back for before coffee, got it after I left.
  13. Plopped the new 4 line dial in to see how it looks. I think it's really well done, he got the lustre right on
  14. Wow!! Congrats, I don't normally like modern daytonas but with that dial wow wow wow. Wear it well
  15. Thanks everyone, im very happy with it. Nanuq, It actually prefers the climate over here, only flakes ask to go to the frigid north!! Hands are Michael Young's from cwp
  16. Done! Played around with inserts today and I think I prefer it with the darker one. Looks kind of tropical in direct sunlight..
  17. Very very nice build, congrats!
  18. Just wanted to add that my dial even though it is too shiny, is better than Minh's. I learned how to tone down the shine with the Minh dial so I'll apply what I learned with the new one. The start point is a lot better this time thankfully, it's easy to see the difference
  19. Hey guys, I recieved my new dials today and just got back from dropping them off with my watchmaker. Should be a day or two before I have the watches back but here's a little teaser for now. For the 4 line I asked for a perfect finish on the lacquer, which he did. The 3-6-9 dial though I asked him to try to make it look slightly damaged/dimpled, kind of like heat or water damage because I've never seen a perfect explorer dial, they all have some kind of wear or damage. I think he managed to pull it off except that the dial is slightly too shiny. I will make it less shiny. Both dials were made using an old school lacquer that is prone to yellowing and crackling. If I'm lucky they will turn into spider dials or tropical dials one day.. I can't wait to see them installed with their matching hands.
