  1. It won't, I've played the frankens game long enough to know where the parts costs are and unless there are issues you won't find one for less than $3k.
  2. http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/168829-fs-omega-planet-ocean-42mm-franken-w-eta-2892-chronometer-mvt/
  3. So you gave us exactly 33 minutes in the middle of the night to answer a question that can easily be answered with the "SEARCH" function built into the site? This ought to be good...
  4. Someone get me a TC V6 and I'll do a comparison...
  5. Must be an Asian-built 2824 then.
  6. One could assume it's still the 2824 that powers the previous TC versions. This has grown to become one of my 3 favorite movements aside from the 2892 and the GEN 3135. TC, please post details and price when you can!
  7. How did wm9 GMTs get in here?
  8. There are two main factors that could be contributing here, the bezel teeth and the case material. The TC bezel teeth are more accurate for an older sub, maybe early '90s at latest but the later bezel teeth are sharper and catch the light better, giving more presence. The 904l case material also does make a difference despite what everyone on here wants to believe. If you have two subs, a rep in 316 and a gen in 904 both freshly washed, polished and untouched by human hands then yes, there will be little difference but as soon as you get your grubby mits on each piece the difference becomes apparent. The gen steel fends off scratches and holds it's brilliance much better than any rep steel can. Gen crystals DO make a big difference but there are other factors like gasket height and rehaut depth and angle that will also play in.
  9. I have a beautiful one in now that I picked up for a song on the forums but I have no idea who made it...
  10. The 3035 is CCW like the ETA movements. One major difference is that the DW advances CCW on the 3035 though.
  11. I used a modified TC ring but the movement is one I lucked out on on the bay, it's a much higher grade than TC's options... :-) I've used his with great results as well but I couldn't let this one pass me by!
  12. I have no idea what you're talking about with the case ;-) It's from someplace called "ST" you see... They've since discontinued the 3035 case which is a shame because it was a lot better then the 3135 case they offer. Yes, movement was gen but I purchased it as "Serviced" from Correctime here and it was definitely not serviced. I sent it back to him to have it redone and he went dark leaving me out about $1500... I have rebuilt this sub with a chronometer grade 2824 and TC dial and it's SCARY accurate! Better than some gens I've seen actually... I will be parting ways with this sub soon though, the financial hit of the stolen movement is still lurking and it's somewhat soured the pride I gained in building it. Keep an eye in the FS section if you need one! ~Brendan
  13. I have one I'd sell for the right price...
  14. It's everywhere, there's no search function.
