  1. Sorry, but what do you mean? Why wouldn't you need to care about reluming particularly on the Safari model?
  2. I'm still having trouble seeing what you are referring to. Do you mean that the hour markers on the rep are a tad bit shorter than on the gen?
  3. Gotcha. But all these problems have been worked out on the non-red rep version, right?
  4. Yes, the gen 288 has an in-house OPXII movement. But it also has a closed caseback, so it's not on display. I was actually wondering more about the 214 since it does have a display caseback. Does anyone know how far off it is from the gen? I've only been able to look at web pics, but from what I can see it's not too far off...
  5. I'd say Mary gave you a fair price then.
  6. I'm confused now - should the correct accurate rep have "Royal Oak Offshore" on the caseback or not? And where are people seeing this V2? I'm looking on the sites of the usual sellers, and I only see one version.
  7. Welcome! I'm new, just like you...so...what's a Beginmariner? Something to do with a Submariner, I suppose?
  8. I agree about the pusher at the 8 position. But what's wrong with the open caseback? I thought they had a good replica of the movement and rotor, no?
  9. Beautiful! I am very well have to place and order for that today!

    PO purchase?

I agree, buddy. But I think you misunderstood what I meant. What I was trying to say is that the gen PO was a new model when it first came out. So the rep factories needed to go through a lot of iterations to rep it correctly. With the new gen PO, there are only incremental changes. So my guess is that it won't take the factories another 3-6 years to get the new one repped correctly.
  11. Right. I'm just saying that the functions on that model are relatively simple.

    PO purchase?

Wow, that's quite a while. But that was also because the PO was a completely new model. For incremental changes, like on this new PO, hopefully it won't take that long.
  13. Thanks for your feedback. Although the 212 and 253 are beautiful models, for this particular purchase, I'm looking for a Rad model. Got any pictures of your 288? :-)
  14. I'm all about a Master World Geographic. Heck, you'd think the Master Control would be a no-brainer. I wonder why that one hasn't been repped yet - seems like a simple 2824 movement to me...
  15. I don't think there are any good reps of the Master collection...not that I've found anyway. If anyone knows differently I'd love to be corrected.
  16. Awesome write-up and pictures.
  17. Hey guys, I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this model...until I got completely confused on the different versions of it out there. There's obviously the high-end 1:1 version. But there are at least 2 other less expensive versions, and from the pictures they look exactly the same (aside from the rotor in the back, obviously). Can someone help me understand what the differences are, and if I buy the "lower end" version, it is really far off? Thanks.
  18. Congrats on this one! I've got my eyes set it this model as well, so I'd be really interested to hear more of your thoughts and comments on the fit and finish of this APROO. From your pictures, the dial does not look too yellow at all, which was one of my concerns from the pictures on the website.
  19. Thanks, buddy. Would that be your recommended seller?

    PO purchase?

How long did it take the current PO to get to ultimate status?

    PO purchase?

I'll have to take a look!
  22. Haha, yeah. I've had my eye on that one, too. That rotating inner ring is amazing.

    PO purchase?

It's also available in 42mm. Don't forget the hour markers have been updated as well.
  24. Sorry, I'm still new to all this. Which one of the sellers is Angus?
