    PO purchase?

I'm no expert, but I believe the model you're referring to was a limited edition PO that was shown at Basel 2010 (starting with 222). The hour markers hadn't been updated yet to a more square shape and there was no display caseback. The one I'm referring to is the all new mainstream PO (starting with a 232), shown at this year's Basel. New hour markers, and display caseback. Hopefully we'll see a good rep of this soon. Having the He valve at the 10 position now should make the manufacturers happy.
  2. Well that's the thing: I'm looking at the stock photo and catalog photo right now. It almost looks as if the dial is white. If you didn't have the sub-dials to compare to, you'd actually think the dial was white. I remember also trying this on at the AD, but don't recall noticing the dial overly yellow.
  3. Well, I'm just curious as to how often we really hear about problems with the sec@12 movement? Is it really that prone to failure? I know the CP model is also very popular here, and I believe it runs on the same movement. Haven't heard too many problems there...

    PO purchase?

So there is no UPO for the 42mm version yet? What's missing before it's considered ultimate?
  5. This is very informative, thank you. I did not realize so much was involved with the Daytona rep.
  6. Thanks for sharing the pictures, yours looks great. I actually thought the rep hornback straps come with AP clasp? Here is the picture from one seller I was talking about, dial looks very yellow: http://www.1-pc8838.com/aap10011-royal-chronograph-ssle-safari-a7750-sec12-pi-6975.html?image=0
  7. Really nice combo, looks fantastic.

    PO purchase?

I'm not sure if it's been out for a year. I know it was announced at the latest Basel, but local ADs and boutiques don't even have it yet. Do you know if any high end manufacturers have plans to rep this model?
  9. Been considering picking up either or both of these models. Does anyone here know if the quality on these current reps of these models is of good quality? Anything lacking or I should look out for? Would appreciate advice from anyone with experience or who has purchased one. Thanks.
  10. Been thinking about getting a ROO recently, and the Safari is one of the models at the top of the list. Been looking at the ones from the usual top sellers and everything looks pretty good. I did have a couple concerns, though. One is whether the color of the dial is repped correctly. The gen is a light cream color shade - I'm worried that the rep is too yellowish (from the pictures, anyway). Second is the quality and finish of the brown hornback straps. I've read that some members aren't impressed by the fit and finish of the rep straps. Anyone here have experience or own a Safari? I'd sure appreciate your comments, thanks.
  11. Beauty, pure butter. What was wrong with the horn straps?
  12. How did you come to that decision, if I may ask? I'm sort of in the same boat now.
  13. These are fantastic pics, ubi. I'm now drooling for a ROO! I was originally thinking about the Safari or maybe even the Navy. The CP is a little sportier, which makes me wonder how it would look with leather straps? Have you considered maybe trying it with lighter straps, you think it'd work?
  14. Ubi, you're obviously very knowledgeable on the model. Would it be possible to include a picture of what you mean exactly on the crown guards? I want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. Thanks.
  15. Swimming? So it is fully water resistant rated? This would be the first rep I've heard of that one can really go swimming with. But then again, I'm pretty new to all of this...
  16. Sit tight, Goose, we've got a bogie! Congrats on that new arrival, enjoy!
  17. sorry, not exactly sure what you mean (newbie)? Why would old version be more prone to thread damage - how so?
  18. Ah, I see. Very nice. How's the AR on your 214? There's no blue tint, right? Must look beautiful.
  19. So what does the split second hand do on the rep 214?
  20. Well from what I see so far, it's not bad. Hopefully someone who has it, or at least knows about it, can comment soon.
  21. Right. I also see the Red Seamaster version floating around as well. Is that one equally good?
