'hey guys, the shop is called M.T.Watch. The owner is the wife of a man died 2 years ago (maybe he was george, i'm just assuming). The shop location is: Room 3c MBK Center 3 Fl. Zone C (will go there again snd take a picture of it and will post it).
the woman (her name is May) told me the the shop at the ground floor (Nah Piek) is owned by a relative of her ex husband. I checked this shop before because everyone recommanded it. But the truth is that this shop sucks imo. A very unfriendy shop owner with little to zero watches (overpriced nautilus and subs). If you want to see further "good stuff" you have to order and make a deposit....
the other shop however is great! Plenty of top quality reps! The price May gave me for the diver v3 was 11.000 baht which is 275 eur
many thanks guys for your help and input :-)
i wish you all a merry christmas and a happy new year!" -
In some ways the rep has a much more direct link with the maker than the gen since it was built in more difficult circumstances than the gen, ie not in a huge modern factory with expensive up to date machinery, and required more personal input.
The rep is more 'hand-built' because of that. I think the main thing is not to make the comparison, and just enjoy the watch, whatever it is.
True, some adorable 5 year old child spend many hours luming the rep and I feel a connection with them when it glows in the dark
Haha kidding but yes agree with you on it being more hand-built.

the 12 marker seems a bit messy
-
Reject! This is one of the worst I have seen. "50" is disgusting and the marker at 40 is a mess too.

Similar thread going over at WUS: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f2/show-me-your-small-collection-771992-3.html
Irony is that some of those guys will look down on rep collectors because they have a collection of gen seiko's and invicta's...

Hi mate, how is your Franken process going? I am just about to get the gen dial from the post office and double side AR coated crystal should arrive in a 1 week. I will get another DW to fix the sunken DW problem too. I also got Orloff strap last week, it is very nice!
Can someone explain how to do that DW fix correctly?
The gen has a sunken dw too so it's fine.

That pic of the gen dial appears to be missing the border around the dw? So badly wanting a franken of this...
-
It's a subtle uncommon rep but I think rather accurate: http://www.puretime.co/product/roadster-de-cartier-ss-white-dial-on-bracelet-sw200/

Not sure which is better between them, and it does look like sizes vary or perhaps the dealers just put wrong figures in.

It's amazing how much hassle this useless H-factory is causing us...
-
does anyone know if the movement in H-factory PAM 390 is a time bomb because of the running sec at 3?
Running sec at 3?
-
You can just go with the Noob cg and crown, no need for a Noob case. In my pics that's what you see... an HF case with Noob cg and crown.
Also need to mention... to use the Noob cg/crown combo, you'll need to use the HF o-ring with the Noob crown.
As well as possibly filing down the cg though? I've always been hesitant to try this in case it just gets worse and worse.
-
are there any diff between the new 111n cg and the 111m cg from noob. Or is that the same [censored]?
Is the h factory lever on the cg better than noobs?
Who is good with CG mods?
I'm sure the reps differ but I find the lever is the worst part of the cg on my 390. It's thin and doesn't feel half as good as my 029 noob.

And anyone acting like they really dont want the gen of the fake they are buying here,is lying to himself as well. Take By-Tor,he finally got to buy the gens he wanted after his days here with reps, where is he now??. Come on guys, cut the bs.
This is useless logic. Of course anyone would trade in their rep for the gen if there was no additional cost but that is not the case. The point is that most rational people would much prefer to pay $300 for 95% accuracy rather than $6000. If I was wealthy, I'm still a student, and had $10k cash lying around I'd most likely buy a few high end reps for $2k max then take the family overseas for some unforgettable holiday.
No one will ever be content with what they have. The guy with the 60ft yacht

Looks good....

I think dsn is a bit outdated these days. He will most likely be more expensive and less accurate.
-
As others have said, the noob case and cg is prob the best mod you can do before going overboard. The H factory appears to get the youngest and least sober kids to work on the cg's thus they fall short in terms of quality. I wouldn't really worry about servicing the movement.
-
This is what I mean. The 10 and 11 are basically touching. I know the dial on the one in this thread is good but it's just a touch short.

I've been researching
This watch again and it seems like there are so many models and slight variations. This one appears to have the dial flaw where the 10 and the 11 are too far apart.I think I remember reading that the SS version has the best dial whereas the one on leather has more accurate cabochon. Will try to post pics later.

I think we all hate him because we are envious. He's 19 and wealthier than pretty much everyone on here, he has hotties wanting him wherever he goes and nearly everyone in the world knows who he is. F*cker!
-
So this is officially the best v3 around That blue ar cyclops was the thorn in the side of the v3's but now that it's fixed and the numerals fattened it seems near perfect. Would love to see this one alongside the gen.
-
Maybe the modded v2 holders felt that the v3 out of the box was inferior to theirs.
-
Ok I understand it allows us to be more accurate when setting the time but I have no idea why someone would want to go to lengths to obtain this small advantage. The extra expense, hassle and time is hard to justify to be able to obtain a few more seconds of accuracy
-
Only on the in-accurate versions. The working ones are not accurate so stay away from them if you want your watch to look as accurate as possible.
too good to be true?!

They obviously bought it believing it was a gen...
