  1. Just been researching the santos as I think it might be my next purchase. I really want the SS bracelet version but have heard that it is different to the ultimate and not as good? Found this site with great quality all-round shots of the gen: http://www.watchuwan...e-ss-bracelet-n Just found this thread that was done in 2010 and at that time it seems the bracelet version was better than the 'ultimate'. http://www.repgeek.com/showthread.php?t=116164
  2. That omega looks interesting. Haven't come across that before. The VC is such a beaut. I'm so tempted to get it as well.
  3. I take that back. Just been researching them and seems can be picked up for $220 asian mvmt which is a good price.
  4. It seems a lot people like the sosf. I just don't understand why they don't buy the gen when it can be purchased for around $2k as opposed to the rep going for $400 which still needs service, ar etc and then still has some flaws.
  5. Are there any photo reviews of this to the gen?
  6. Thanks for the ideas. Not really a rolex guy so thats fairly low down on my wanted list. The sosf is a very expensive rep for a gen that can be had for under $2k so seems like bad value to me. Santos might be the best bet so far... Hmmm
  7. I think my next rep needs to be a white face with bracelet as it will be a nice contrast to my current dark face leather strap watches. Vacheron constatin overseas is a nice looking option but not really a super rep. Cartier santos 100 seems to be very accurate but there are so many variations and they are pretty pricey at around $400. Super avenger is prob a bit too big and don't like the risk of 7750. UN maxi diver also good looking but no where near accurate. I feel I'm at the stage where I need a rep that has no apparent flaws. I just wont be content looking at a watch knowing that the X and the XL of the santos should be touching when they're not or that the cross on the VC is shaped incorrectly. I can manage a pam there the 3 might be slightly different shape but you could only be sure if you had the gen there to see. Some watches like the big pilot 5002 and 5004 are an easy quick glance without needing a gen as they have very apparent flaws. Any other white dial bracelet options?
  8. South Africa. Just had to go to customs the last 2 orders and BSing the official and hoping to get away with it is getting rather risky.
  9. There is a working pr version but the subdial is far too far from the side as I'm guessing this is where the pr movement mechanism is. I really don't understand what the big deal is with the fixed pr. When you're wearing it it should be around max anyway
  10. They are fairly decent. The 5004 is the better of the 2. Not in same class as the latest pams but fairly affordable.
  11. Better use the knife on him if he tries to test your watch...
  12. Some good opinions in this post. Seems like the 5004 is the winner. But these new super reps with perfect lume and basically 99% gen like make me question getting an older rep like the BP. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/5002-vs-5004-96859.html?t=96859
  13. My good friends know I have reps. I don't spend $300 to tell others that compliment my watch that it is a fake.
  14. How much does a base 6497 cost? Can you buy them off the shelf like the ones with second hand or do they have to be modded first?
  15. How is the movement on the 288's? Is it a 7750 and hence more risky than the manual?
  16. Big pilot. I either don't like the look of the other iwc's or the ones I do like have risky movements.
  17. Also remember reading from posts that the darker dial(5002) goes well with the standard blue ar but that the 5004 dial could benefit from some chief??
  18. I know these both have their flaws, the 5002 has the pr dial too close to the markers, and the 5004 has DAYSl rather than DAYS l. Which in your honest opinion would be harder to spot in real life, once the pr hand mod is done. The 5004 might seem obvious because the hand will be right next too the S and at certain angles you will be able to see under the pr dial. The 5002 seems like it is a mm or 2 too close to the markers which might make it harder to judge as it comes down to judgement rather than an exact error.
  19. Any chance you've compared this to the gen? I remember that one guy commenting in another thread that it looks bad.
  20. Amazing watch. Is the case 47 like should be and CB too?
