I don't feel it is very similar to the Authentic AP. Yes the basic shape and design is but for one the rounded tip/area where it hooks to the watch is an automatic give away. The side of the bands are different, the authentic is very smooth and maybe coated in something, the HK is not. The AP has a more aged look, more lines in it, wrinkles etc...I did get the watch used but even in the store the ones I have seen look more like this. The HK is smoother looking.

But IMO those arent negative but u asked the difference and to compare how close it looks to the genuine. I think the HK strap is absolutely stunning. Its nice to look at. Deciding selling it or what to do with it. Why you selling yours?

Authentic is on the watch

The HK Tan is gorgeous. The stitching is an off white/yellowish/tan color, not sure if I love that or is better in white. The leather hornback itself is stunning. Not sure what an authentic strap would cost but this seems just as nice. Although it does seem a little stiff but I haven't put it on the watch and actually felt it on so I can't say really.

Someone asked me in another thread if I have worn my rep since I got the authentic and I haven't till today. Went and had it put on the diver strap. I only wish the rep was actually water proof as this could be my perfect travel, beater watch. But it say on the rep website not to actually submerge it. let me know if anyone has experience with this.

I think its the dark contrast with the light ... that makes it work so well .... hence me pulling it off .... you don't have to be gay to wear a white strapped watch as ive demonstrated

No, I haven't worn it once since I got the Authentic. I have an extra diver strap that came with my authentic and thought about putting it on the replica to use as a beater. Still waiting on my HKtan strap, prob been 2 months. Although he sent me photos of it boxed up and with shipping receipt but I cant figure out how to track it thru bankok post.

You manage to pull off the white band somehow. But when I first saw it above with the white strap I thought this guy must be gay (no offense intented, as I have many gay friends). Seeing it on you it works and its not feminine, but in the pics I couldnt imagine wearing it. The womens ap roo comes on a white rubber strap.

i was thinking of selling my HKtan strap when it arrives as I dont need it, although who knows when it will show up. been about 6 weeks.

i was told it would ship same week, its been over 4 weeks. They did have trouble with flooding but ...

I think I have been waiting 3 or 4 weeks. They did have flooding over there but it was supposed to be sent out before that. He said it was sent this week so we will see.

Tried on the Shaq ROO which is the same size as the Arnold and it is way too big! It looks ridiculous. You have to be huge to wear it.

Also IMO the skeleton perpetual calendar is very very hard to read which I dislike. I feel like you should either go skeleton or perpetual calendar, not both in one watch.

no it came with it. Had ordered a HKTan strap when I first ordered the watch. Just waiting on that. Maybe Ill sell it

Im meant im not a fan of people wearing replicas claiming to be real. Im not gonna put someone down for it or talk bad. It doesnt offend me. I like how watchmeister put it, I did it as a test drive.

This was my first experience with replicas, never really knew about them before. But when I received mine I felt funny wearing it. Like I was trying to be something im not even thou I knew I was looking to get the authentic. I go on a watch forum and shared that and some people went off on me, which I understand but dont think its that big of a deal at all. When I said "im not a fan" im just saying for myself. I now know I wouldnt get a replica again, maybe I would do what I did this time and test drive one.

I got a lot of "if you can afford it then thats it, dont buy a replica if you cant" or "you are trying to be something you arent" which I sort of agree with. But then there are cases where you just like it and dont care about status etc...although im sure plenty do. Then some said you are stealing a design from a company that takes time and money making these watches, how would you feel if some company just stole your ideas/design and started selling knock offs of it? I thought it would suck and Id probably be upset.

Im not judging or talking down, although I can say a few did that to me. So when I said im not a fan I just meant for myself. Obviously I took the time to share the pics and some details with everyone in here, as some of you were very helpful to me. So thank you.

While there are definitely some flaws in the rep, overall it's a pretty good copy when taken in the context of the rep vs gen dollar ratio.

I like the gen with the hornback so much better. Don't know, but whether it's a gen or rep rubber strap, it just doesn't seem to compliment a fine high end time piece like the ROO as well as fine hand crafted leather. But that's just me.

not sure. Contemplated selling it or putting the diver/rubber strap on the Rep and using it as a beater. Tonight I went to shoot pool and actually wore the Rep cause I know I bang my hand reaching in the pockets and leaning on the table.

The diver strap is amazingly comfortable. Deciding wether I am going to keep it on the diver or put the hornback on. I do prefer the look of the hornback and the brown is gorgeous.

The rep has no silver lining around the numbers which makes a HUGE difference. The numbers don't pop at all without it. The watch reflects light very differently on the bezel and the window. They both are pretty loud when shaken and you can hear the internals almost equally. Date window on rep looks very different, not as clear and different placement.

Im glad that the reps aren't exact. This was my first replica and only got it to wear to see if I want the real thing. I have to say im not a big fan of people wearing them but just thought I'd share my experience. Thanks for all your help!

ordered from trusty time. Came in under 2 weeks. Looks fantastic!!! The band is horrible as every has said, stiff as hell and leaves marks on the sides of my wrist. HKtan is on the way.

The only thing im not sure about is when you shake the watch the internals are VERY loud. Is this normal? Does the authentic do this, if not a fast way to tell its a fake

when people say the seconds are @12 o'clock I realize cause the "seconds hand" is the top chrono. But do you guys make that reference because other replicas dont have it there?
