  1. The easiest way of doing this is to get your hands on an old style rep deployant.... the decent ones that were around just before the release of the new ones on the 212s etc.... before the new LMs and Ms... from Noob and HBB maker... the ones with out the CF marking on the inner thumbnail buckle part....

Though I have succeeded using these newer ones in what I am about to say.... but its more strap dependant...

If you have slightly bigger wrists get the XL rep asso... the idea is to have less tail or be connecting the deployant on the lower holes of the strap... now this may mean getting a standard and an XL then using half of each... however it shouldnt be in most cases... :)

Then where the buckle part of the deployant is (the part that says Panerai) remove this... its only held to the butterfly clasp by a springbar.... though the spring bar is within a thin tube to look bigger...

Once off and remember which way round to put it back... place the strap in it then replace the thumb buckle part using the spring bar and the tube or if slightly too thick then just the springbar.. you might need to get a stronger spring bar if you wear the watch tightly to improve the tensile strength needed..

If you struggle to refit then you need to very gently squeeze the part of the leather strap with a thin nosed plier or something similar.... it wont damage the strap if you take care... plus that area cannot be seen on the wrist..

I have done this with many straps including some ammos.... even padded straps..... I too found many straps that didnt take deployants.... and I preferred a deployant so I resorted to doing this... it always worked for me...

Sometimes though I need to slightly bend the butterfly to ensure a good clipping of the deployant wings....

I actually did this method with an OEM Asso strap.... :) so I know it works specifically on this strap

I think this is very interesting I hate taking out the watch every time I take a shower or jump into the swimming pool, now thats summertime, knowing that Im doing a bit of dammage to the strap every time. My straps are for tang so I would love if you can take some pictures of yours with the deployant. it will be very helpful!

  2. The 187 is a 47mm. and although not this one I got to wear the gen 305 (sub and 47mm. too) that I really love. My wirst is 6.75 and the 305 was too big for my taste, however the 243 wears higher but somehow smaller than a regular luminor as the dial is smaller due to the bezel being larger.

Now that I put it in words it does not make much sense as the 305 has a larger bezzel too but the overal size of the watch really pulled me off even if I really, really love that one.

Hope to help here but not sure right now haha... lets say it's a bit late!

  3. I have both the Asian 243 v.2 and the 029, this las one with the ETA movement, both from Noob Factory. They are fantastic, I have gone to the AD and have played with the 243 (they did not have the 029) and some others I intend to buy as reps. What can I say... both have a very gen feel... I do have some pretty expensive gens too and I still wear these two the most for the past 6 months when I first got the 029.

If you just want to have a great rep OOTB, almost indistinguishable form the gen, get some of the closed caseback ones as the guys above me have pointed out.

  4. So I finally took some pics of my Noob 243 v.2 (or revised, take it as you like) That I bought from Toro. It took a month and a half to get it but I couldn't be happier with it.

This watch is so beautiful that I wear it almost every day now that is summer here, I guess my 029 is getting jealous. The strap is a GEN butterscotch strap that my GF got me for it (gotta love her for that, uh?) and I really like the combination. Tell me what you think of it!

    Swimming pool proof too!

  5. If only they could make a good P.9000 movement replica...

I love them too but its hard to wear them knowing that turning them upside down will ruin whatever good the rest of the replica is. Even the pretty good, Panerai like plated and engraved, 6497 has obvious tells for the ones looking for them.

  6. How beautiful! Love it. I like the kevlar strap that puretime was selling with it too. This one will most likely end in my left wrist... Only way to actually send the 029 for a service!

I knew I was going to get hooked. And I am only starting to learn from all of you about how to improve reps. So happy!

  7. Hello, I am still waiting for my 029 and was very intrigued by you having it already teared down.

Some people say that the swiss one GMT hand does not jump from one hour to the next. Are the Chinese modules from the swiss ones different than the ones applied to the asian ones?

Seems kind of weird that the asian one jumps like the original watch, as opposed to the swiss one, being only 2 little changes that I suppose both share.

Can you please tell a bit more of what you think from opening the watch and if a jumping GMT hand module is possible in combination with the swiss machinery?

    Many thanks!

  8. It shows so much about te replicas state of the art that I am already waiting for the next review!

So many "look at this GEN and how this and this REP differs in this way", so interesting and helpful!

Although I finally got a 029 myself I keep coming to this review over and over again.

Please keep doing this, it helps the replica scene a big time. I guess it forces the competition to produce even better reps!

  9. I am can watch the pictures now, having ordered the same watch I got a mail with the QC pictures now (still trying to see how post a pic) and my pics seem to show something same as yours over the "6" at the GMT dial; I am not sure if it is some dust or an imperfection on the aplication of the the blak ink over the number.

Yours is the ETA one, right?

  10. Oh well, somehow the Tapatalk in my phone opens them as small as the thumbnail and once pinched the quality is bad as opposed to other thumbnails from other posts that open big. Obviously this is an issue on my side.

Sorry for sidewalk the topic! Actually I am very interested in knowing what flaws (if any)members with a trained eye can spot on QC pictures from a vendor. Also very interested in your actual question. I have been waiting for someone to jump into the tread for a little while and got the wrong impression that the size of the pics could have been the cause. I'll follow this from my computer.

    Cheers!

  11. The Case is outstanding quality, looks good at all compare with pictures of the Gen.one

and no issues for me to change to Gen.parts

About your questions i have to say,

The Dial and Hands are a bit diffrend to Gen,

1.The Gen Hands are thiker and rounder than the reps.

2.The print of gen.Dial is clearer than rep.

3.The A on the rep.Dial is correkt to Gen.

    I hope i could help you,and i can say,you can bought this beauty .

I have it from Andrew ( trustytime)

    Cheers Thom

Oh damn I am still blind to what seems to be obvious to others. Thank you very much for pointing out the flaws, it helps me to learn and to pay closer attention!

    Ahh... such a beauty...

  12. I love this watch, very impressive!

Do you think the dial and the hands are not that close to the original? I have tried to look into the pictures of yours and the ones from Puretime. I am not sure because of lack of expertise and but:

1 The hands in the REP have a slightly thicker metal part that takes some of the luminova place the GEN has?

2 Is it bolder the PANERAI lettering over the GEN´s dial one?

3 Somewhere I can´t remember I read that some REPs have the "A" over the PANERAI with the inner segment of the "A" not as close to the top as it should be, Is this happening here too?

I was about to buy this watch and it will be great to have some feedback so as to what are the real flaws of it in comparison to the GEN.

I envy you! In a good way ;)
