  1. Just to let everyone know that my new 005K lume at 12 hour marker is bit off. Blamed it on my untrained eyes and lack of Pam knowledge :(

The application of lume at the "2" below the curve is not proper hence you can see a bit of white-ish spot there.

I know that slight imperfection will bug alot of Pam enthusiasts here but apart from that its a watch beautiful head to toe.;)

  2. Crown, tube n etc would be next.Crystal is main priority now =) Hope it won't break my wallet though ...Swapping would be done by my local watchsmith :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Well this turned into an interesting discussion; C1 or C2

allgoat, thank you for the link. Cousins sure is a resource.

Dee, I'm waiting to here from the dealer until tue, closed today.

I bought a gen tube for $90 already and he's going to look at

his inventory for a used crown in very good condition(he has a

    new sealed one for $190!).

I'm going to send a PM to BK, I'm asking him to do the work on

my super-franken, to see what he would prefer.

  3. maybe somebody can explain me why the V3 Subs go +$1000 now ... ? :animal_rooster:

they have the shitty crown position that can not be fixed . why the premium ?

V2 is the best out of the box

V1 is still available at normal prices - it need some mods, but you will get the best SELs for free ;)

    cheers,

    Frank

Lots of demand and so few supply and with WM9 going in limbo,I might not be surpised to see the price hit $1.5k with few gen parts thrown in it.. :bangin:

  4. Yes, you need a conversion kit to go from bracelet to strap.

I used a seconds @ 12 kit for the blue dial and an AP kit for the Black Themes.

Although it was tough, I finally managed to make it work.

I also had the Barrichello with a gen strap and that was an easy fit. So I guess each strap is a little different.

If I'm not mistaken the sec @ 12 kit does work with the MBW case so I would go for the complete set (strap + deployant + conversionkit) from one of our dealers. (about USD 90)

I have no idea how the quality of the AP bands are.

Thanks Sander.I will give it a try on those kit from our dealers then....

  5. Yes, both dials are gen.

It's really funny how things can turn out. Since I didn't received the right tachyring in time, I installed a black one for the time being.

Now I love it so much that I decided to leave it this way. It looks really great with the black pushers, crown and strap I think.

Maybe my second one gets the blue tachyring though smile.gif

Talking about strap,I have been wanting to get a rubber or gator for my MBW ROO.I have no clue which will and will not fit(AP bands etc etc).

Do I need a conversion kit as well?

  6. Gen dial can be fit in a seconds at 12 (long story how to do it) but in spite of truer to gen construction the seconds at nine case is IMHO far more accurate aesthetically and more easily takes the gen tachy bezel so I stick with the seconds at nine case. :)

I see. Did anyone ever produce a more accurate datewheel so that one could make a datewheel swap?

  7. It is a great model. I had it for a while. It is one of the original ROO's in real life. It hasn't been made in years though and a lot of people want the latest one. Here is your watch in franken form:

Funny part is those dials in gen form come up all the time. I have always wondered why. :)

I have had MBW themes before.IMHO the dial of this model is better and more "crisp" in appearance. Franken form as in you used the Gen dial and fit it in second @12 AP watch?

  8. Hi guys,

I bought this MBW ROO a few years ago at BKK .Being MBW,it has second @9 and the brushed and finishing is top notch.Date font is supposed to be bolder though.I have since seen numerous models being repped but I noticed that not many members are fond of this model. What do you guys think of this model? Understated or unpopular? :victory:

  9. Its a shame that the rep makers can't do better than to slap 2 thin pieces of leather on a rubber like thingy. Its this "that'll just do" mentality is what is driving most of to the brink...

I need some suggestions for a BP strap that is close to OEM specs. I can't justify paying close to USD 500.00 for a strap for a sub USD200 watch.

I know HKTAN does good work but I am not buying anything from him that's ready to be shipped. Strapluxe looks good for its price. nay experience on this?

Any other suggestions is much appreciated.

    Cheers

    S181

    Hey S181,

The rep strap sucks indeed, too plasticky and glossy.

I have been sourcing everywhere for a good quality BP strap.I have to admit that HK Tan's custom gator BP strap is the only way to go if you do not want to pay a premium.I have had Strapluxe before but the gator pattern is no where near HK's work.I attached a pic of the Strapluxe gator on my 5002 below (1st pic). The pattern is sort of like embossed which is disappointing .

Heck, even ready made HK's BP calf strap looks more impressive than the strapluxe. That's my 0.02 cents...hope it helps... :victory:

  10. Sub SGD200 vs USD200 is a big difference...at least to me. The OP clearly stated its SGD200 not USD. :g:

Oh ok...so you are the OP ,pardon me then...it must be a typo in your pricing.

And by the way..I have already pulled the trigger last week.Got it on my hands now...I have to say the AR is a bit weak compared to 5002 in terms of blue-ish hue.Is that why you are planning for the AR treatment(to get the blue hue probably) to look more gen like?
