Dragging this topic back on topic, I'd have to say the ARF SD43 Anniversary Sea Dweller is the nicest out-of-the-box rep I've seen in a loooooong time. If it wasn't against forum rules, I wouldn't hesitate to wear mine into a Rolex dealer. It's that good.

Do you mean this one? Is it really better than the ARF/VRF/Noob Submariner reps or is it just rarer so less people can compare to a gen?

Also I'm a bit unsure about the size it seems really big on some wrist shots.

On a related topic, would you get the ETA or the Clone movement? Setting the time in the wrong direction kinda bothers me, but the clone movement worries me too 🙄

From what I read I would definitely avoid the Noob 3135, but ARF/VRF 3135 seem a bit better.

  2. I've been out of the rep game for a while and I'm looking for my first rolex, but all these factory names confuse me, back in the day the factory was rarely named. Which is the best sub, VRF ARF Noob or something else? Plus, is the black one much more accurate than the Hulk or a GMT 2?

They all look quite good to me, but I'd like to buy only once, so choose carefully. 😀

  3. Hey guys,

I'm looking for my gf's first nice watch, we went to a dealer and she tried on the PO, but sadly the 42mm was a bit too big for her.

The old 38mm was way to small, but they had a 40mm PO which was perfect.

I looked around a bit and didn't find a 40mm PO Rep, is it a new size which has not been made yet?

And what are other suggestions for a good 40mm(or 39-41) rep for a girl. What did you buy your wives and gfs? :g:

I know the Explorer I or Milgauss would be great but she is not keen on wearing something with a crown. :fool:

P.S: Laste time I checked a few years ago there were no good Speedmaster Reps out there, has this changed?

  4. Hey Guys,

I have been away for a few years from the rep game, but I was aware they released new Navitimer Reps last year.

I always wanted one, and now it’s time for a new watch... But I saw two different Types:

    http://www.ttw-1388.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=15411

and a newer JF Factory edition

    http://www.ttw-1388.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=16_143&products_id=16923

(which on trusty I only saw in RG, is it actually available as Black Dial, Steel Case, Leather Band?)

How good is the “original” 1:1 from 2016? Is it worth to seek out the newer JF Factory?

And in general, how 1:1 are these reps compared to Noob Submariner levels?

Glad to be back, and thanks for helping!

  5. Hey guys,

just got my new AP Diver from Torro today, just wanted to share some quick pics and a first impression.

The rep feels very heavy and sturdy, almost undestroyable. My PAM feels very light compared to the AP. It's really large for a 42mm watch, feels like a 44 at least. The overall quality is amazing, the strap feels a bit cheaper than my rep PAM strap, I'd really love to have some input on strap options of people who have had more experience with the Diver. I'd love a Kevlar strap or even a nice Hornback in a ROO Chronograph style ( I'm never tanking this watch near water anyway :g:) What are your suggestions for a secondary strap?

  6. Hey guys,

yesterday was my birthday and I'm undecided what do get. I'm stuck between the AP ROO, the Chopard LUC Pro One or the Seal JLC.

My current daily beater is a PAM 104, with the occasional Aquanaut day and an Explorer 2  for special occasions.

    - How is the lume on the JLC compared to the ROO? They are not superlume but I know the JLC lume is considered pretty good.

How easy would it be to relume the watches?

-Which is the best OOTB rep? I wouldn't want to spend a lot on a Hornback for the ROO so I would keep it on the factory rubber. I really hate the Seal strap I would need to get a new one there probably, but the watch is considerably cheaper anyway

-Which ROO? I like the 2009 Silver theme edition, they have a video and QC pics up so I feel like I know what I'm going to get. And how does it compare to the the new RO reps which also look great.

-What about the Chopard LUC Pro One, the rep is pretty new and looks really good, although I've only seen the 1000 miliga at the local dealer

-Am I missing an obvious choice? I'd love a Navitimer but the reps are not up so scratch yet, any more suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

as we all know, choosing one is the hardest part :g:

  7. Hey, I just found a few "new" Navitimers on Andrews site, so far there are still only placeholders with the $8,908.00 price tag and no information, does anyone know if our prayers for new Navitimer reps might finally be answered?

If you want to see for yourself browse the Navitimers on Andrews site andd look down to the

New Products For November - BREITLING

sometimes you can see the placeholders down there, there are a few different ones! :clap2:

Maybe someone knows more than me on this matter. ;)

  8. First one is a solid choice, but if you want the best accuracy you might consider a steel caseback, as the movement finish is not on par with gen Panerais. If i were you I would choose exactly the same dial layout with a steel caseback, get it with the rubber strap und order a nice custom hornback so you can switch between the two.

  9. The Royal Oak is not a great rep, just a good one. It's not as accurate as the Royal Oak offshore Models. The Nautilus is a better rep in my opinion, but I wouldn't get the blue dial as I think the shade of blue is a bit off. I would consider getting a Black Nautilus Ultimate Version from Josh, they are really accurate. The biggest tell is the movement through the back glass, if you don't take it off you should be fine.

  10. Hey guys,

just received my HBB last week and now decided to review it. So far I found it to be an accurate and well working watch, I especially like the overall feel of the ceramic case and the nice movement finishing. It's an excellent rep and I can only recommend it to anyone.

I even like the strap, which sometimes looked cheap on pics and I'm staying with it and not switching to a Hornback.

The one issue I noticed is the clasp, which is well made but the locking mechanism can be a bit weak as it is only secured by 2 tiny metal hinges. After pressing the strap against the clasp I had no further problems, but it looks like it will be the first thing to break on the watch. I would not recommend putting too much stress on it.

  11. I wrote this a few days ago to a guy asking for a dressy watch, maybe it can help you.

If you want a really accurate rep, consider a sportier watch rep.

You could also consider these two:

VC Patrimony: good movement, nice rotor, quite thin.

A Lange: this watch was reviewed here recently, biggest problem is the "IWC" branding on the movement, otherwise quite nice
