  1. First, I'd like to say that I'm sorry to hear of your bad luck Ade. I guess it's good that you seemed to have dodged the bullet with customs though. Second, I'd like to comment on those that mention how long Ade has been a member and how many posts he's made. That logic is ridiculous. I've seen guys on this forum who have been members for many years with thousands of posts and their posts are generally useless and annoying. Ade's posts are some of the more entertaining and genuinely useful posts I've read, and this one is no exception. The big message here is to use caution, be specific and perhaps think through how you would react to this scenario should it happen to you. If he doesn't want to share the TD's name, that's his prerogative. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that if he had mentioned the dealer's name he would have been blasted with more criticism than he's getting here now. It's posts like this that really help other people. I know some would like to know who it was, but I just know that I'm going to be very specific in my direction of how to ship. And if I ever get called in to the post office to sign for something that says "watches" I'm going to tell them I did not order any watches and please return the package to the sender. Thanks Ade for a great post!
  2. DSSD was my sixth rep. I love it. I think it is the best overall quality rep I have. Well maybe tied with my PAM-177...
  3. Amazes me that so many people will bid on something like this...
  4. Thanks Cougar. All of the things you mentioned are working fine, so that makes me feel better. The watch is keeping great time and the power reserve is pretty good. If I pull it out of the box and shake it a few seconds, it starts right up. And it's never stopped while wearing it. The only issue I've noticed is that there is a noticeable increase in the resistance when winding it manually. Although, I tried it again this morning (it wasn't stopped) and it felt fine like when I first bought it. So maybe I'm crazy. My DSSD and my Tag AR500M wind up silky smooth and never give me any reason to doubt them. And my PAM177 handwind winds smoother than any of them. So that's what made me notice this one I think. After hearing all the replies, I think maybe I'm worrying over nothing. I just didn't want to keep doing something that was damaging the watch. Thanks for all the help everyone!
  5. Oops...I guess I'll stop doing that. Hope I didn't screw up my watch.
  6. $70? That's not bad! I'll probably just do that if mine dies. Maybe I'll just stop hand winding it so much. I do move around quite a bit throughout the day. Thanks for the advice!
  7. Hey everyone! Been really busy lately so I haven't been on the forum much recently. I owe you guys a review on the Tag AR 500 I bought, and that will be coming soon.. But I have a question on my Omega PO I hoped someone might be able to help me with. I've got the PO Ultimate with the Swiss ETA. I have the standard difficulty with the crown in that it doesn't want to screw in and out very smoothly, but so far the threads are still working so I assume they haven't stripped. I am planning on replacing the crown and tube as soon as things settle down a bit. But here's my question... I do not keep the watch on a winder and I alternate between watches. So when I switch watches the new one will be stopped, so I wind it up manually and set the time the first time I put it back on. But it seems like there is a lot more resistance now when I manually wind the PO with the crown than there used to be when I first got it. It still winds, there's just noticeably more resistance (and maybe an ever-so-slight metalic rubbing sound?) than there used to be and I wanted to know if that's something I should be concerned about. Is this a sign of impending doom? Should I just put it on and let it wind automatically vice winding it manually? Does it need a service? On the service question: how much does a service on a rep cost (roughly speaking)? Is there anyone on the forum that still does services on movements (I heard The Zigmeister no longer takes new customers, is that true)? How do I find a watchsmith that will service a rep movement? Does anyone know someone in the states that they use that I could send a watch into them? If so, how much do they charge? I know I'm spraying everyone with questions, but I'm still a newb with this and these are the questions I still have after searching through the forum. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
  8. Two days ago I was wearing my Aquaracer 500M (not a watch I would normally expect someone to ask if it was fake). But of course someone I worked with did ask. I told him "yes, it's a replica I bought from China". I could tell he wasn't familiar with nice watches, but I took it off and showed it to him. He looked at the face for a few seconds, then turned the watch over and saw the movement. Then he said "oh, it is real! Wow, this is a nice watch". I told him again it was a rep, but he just laughed like I was kidding. I couldn't convince him it was a rep and I think to this day he believes I'm just trying to dupe him. Right after I got my DSSD, i was sitting right next to another guy I work with who wears a gen sub. I caught him out of the corner of my eye staring at my DSSD. A little later that day he came up to me and said he noticed my watch and commented on how much he liked it. He said "wow, those are pretty expensive though right? I paid $5000 for my submariner, but aren't those like twice that?" I told him, "yea normally, but I got a good deal on this one ...$400". Then I told him it was a rep and he was blown away. He asked me to see it and he studied it for a long time. I told him about the quality of higher end reps and he was amazed. He ended up asking me for the website!
  9. Maybe... but then you'll always have us newbs asking "who should I buy from?". Then you'll say "just buy from the trusted dealers in our forum". Then the newbs will ask themselves "what trusted dealers? Oh, there must be a 'trusted dealers' list here on the forum somewhere". Then they'll do a search for the phrase "trusted dealers", to which they will find a lot of stuff, but none of it will have to do with an actual list of trusted dealers. Which then forces them to come back to another thread and ask "who should I buy from?", to which some veteran member with 12,000 posts will flame them saying..."hey idiot, go to our 'trusted dealers' section, and stop asking all of us stupid questions". Then the newb will ask himself "WTF, I just came here for a simple answer to a simple question....why can't I find a simple answer?" And the answer is ...HE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET A SIMPLE ANSWER TO A SIMPLE QUESTION!. I lived this myself... The reason this forum is here is to educate people. It's not for the old timers to sit around and stroke themselves about how much they know. It's to help spread the huge amount of knowledge that exists on this forum. Someone who has never posted a single post should be able to come into this forum and ask..." I'm new to this. Where should I look to buy a good replica watch and not get ripped off". And....in my humble opinion....he should get a warm welcome and be greeted with a lot of useful information that will help him find the watch he wants. Like it or not, we were all in that same spot- throwing out what seems to us now to be stupid questions, just trying to get information on buying a good quality replica watch from a reliable dealer who won't screw us over. I'm still a newb, I know that. But I will continue to write reviews and post links that will help new guys find what they're looking for, because that's what I got when I came here (thanks Mikellem!) and that's the experience I want people to have when they come here. I just think we could stand to lose a little bit of the 'I'm an expert and you're just a stupid newb' attitude, and start helping out the people just showing up to the forum.
  10. Beautiful watch though.
  11. Hi, The dealer section may be a little deceiving. It's actually titled "Watches, Clothing & Accessories". This link will take you right to it: http://www.rwg.cc/forum/230-watches-clothing-accessories/ These dealers are the only ones I would buy from. RWI is another replica watch forum (Replica Watch Info) located here: http://www.replica-watch.info Another good one is repgeek: http://www.repgeek.com/ Fortunately for you, you've already found the best replica watch forum on the internet. I am a member of all three, but I rarely go anywhere but RWG. As for the dealers, I am still relatively new to this as well. I've only purchased 5 reps, but I purchased 4 of them through Andrew at Trusty Time: http://www.yourtrustytime.com My experience with Andrew has been outstanding and I have no reason to buy a new rep from anyone else (the 5th one I bought used from another forum member). I pasted part of a post I wrote previously to help newbies know what to expect when buying from Andrew below. I hope it helps, but feel free to PM me with any additional questions as well... PASTED GUIDE BELOW: Trusty Time is the best. I'm fairly new to this myself, but I've bought 4 watches from him and each one has been an outstanding experience. Here's his website : www.yourtrustytime.com The guy who runs it goes by the name of "Andrew" but I doubt that's his real name. Despite that his English is pretty good and he always responds to emails very quickly. When I find the model I want, I do a search by price (highest on top). Once I find the one I want, I'll do a search for posts on that watch. I find out whether it's a good replica and if there are any issues. All four of the ones I bought were highly reviewed. Instead of doing a search using the forum's search engine, I do a search using Google. If you type in "site:www.rwg.cc" then the search criteria, you get way better hits than if you use the forum. For example, type "site:www.rwg.cc Omega Planet Ocean" into Google, and you will get a ton of excellent results. Type the same search in the forum and it's pretty weak. Once you find the watch you want and decide to purchase, here's what you can expect (purchasing through Trusty time): ***************************************************************************************************************************** 1. Place an order through the website. It's a very simple process. I've used the PayPal option every time so I can't speak to the process for paying with CC. 2. I receive a confirmation email within a few hours informing me my order was received. 3. Using PayPal, I then receive another email with instructions on how to pay through PayPal. This email instructs me to send an email letting him know after I make payment, which I do. 4. Andrew responds to that email thanking me and letting me know I will receive the QC email with 24-48 hours. 5. The QC email arrives with photos of the watch from the front, back, sides, bracelet and clasp. There's also a shot of it hooked up to the timegraph and another with it sitting on your shipping form with your address on it. Take a good look at the pictures and make sure you like the way everything looks. He asks that you not post QC pics on the forum, but if you've done your homework on the watch you shouldn't need to. Every watch I've received so far from Andrew looked really nice in the photos, but I've heard other members ask for another watch based on something that didn't look right (pearl alignment, etc). Keep in mind that the photos are very close up so you will see every little fleck on dust or lint. The photos are also taken with a bright light and with a white background so everything looks a little washed out. Don't get wrapped around this. Try to keep your focus on the way everything on the watch itself looks. So far in my experience, every watch looks way better in person that they did in the QC pictures, and the QC pictures weren't bad! 6. Once you decide you are happy with the watch, reply to the QC email letting him know you accept the watch. If he doesn't hear from you within 24 hours he will send the watch without your approval. 7. He then replies to your QC acceptance email letting you know the watch has been shipped and you can get your tracking info off the website. To find it, log on at the Trusty website and go to 'My Account'. There will be a list of your orders with the most recent at the top. Select 'View' next to it and then look down the verbiage (which is usually a copy-paste of the text in your emails). At the end of the latest email, after his signature will be the tracking number. Every one I've gotten has been through EMS so my number always looks like this: EMS: EE123456789CN. This number is also at the top of the shipping form in the last QC pic. 8. I then go to the EMS website to track (http://www.ems.com.cn/english.html). However, it will usually take a day or two for any info to be posted here. There's a little trick with the verification on the tracking page though that took me a little bit to figure out. There's two boxes; the first is 'Shipment Number' which is obviously where you enter the tracking number Andrew provided. The next one says 'Verification' which would normally lead me to enter a CAPTCHA code from some kind of small photo of numbers or letters, but there's not one there. The trick is that you have to click the mouse in that box before the code will pop up! The EMS site has good tracking through China, but will post less detailed information once it leaves the country. If you are in the US, you can enter the same tracking number into the tracking page of the USPS website to get good tracking info once it reaches the US. 9. My experience so far has been really good with shipping times. Usually 7-10 days from the time I replied to the QC email. I once had the package stuck in customs for 5 full days, but even then it still got to me in 13 days total. It's hard, but this is the time to be patient. The watch will show up. ***************************************************************************************************************************** That's the process I went through on all 4 watches with Andrew at Trusty Time. There is another dealer who goes by "Joshua" from a website called "Perfect Clones" who is as highly reviewed as Andrew. However, once I found a reliable dealer who sends me good watches reliably, I don't see the need to go anywhere else. If you do decide to try Perfect Clones, check out his section here on RWG. I've heard that there are a few scam websites of his. They're called "Perfect Clones" and look identical to his, but are not the same URL and will get you ripped off (yes I see the irony in the fakes of the fake). But Andrew has been solid and reliable, so he's the one I recommend.
  12. I have to agree. When I first came here looking for a list of trusted dealers, it took me some time. It's not in an intuitive location. And a forum search for "Trusted Dealers" only results in a bunch of posts of people telling people to use trusted dealers. It seems obvious to me now that I know where the section is, but as a newb it took some time for me to find it. If it was titled "TRUSTED DEALERS" as slask suggests, I think we'd have a lot less questions..
  13. My new favorite thread. Thanks!
  14. I'm not sure what you guys have a problem with. I find myself pounding my fists against the street naked quite often. Is that not condoned where you're from?
  15. I am pro child-army. I started one about two years ago in my neighborhood. Although right now we are only equipped with air-soft guns, I see expansion in our future. For those of you who think you can take on my child-army, let me tell you this: my kids are ferocious... and those little air-soft BB's sting like a [censored]... think about it.
  16. "Pay Grade" ... you must be in the military too..
  17. I bought 4 reps in about a month. Then I told myself I was going to stop for a while... I just bought another one two days ago. I think I'm going to start "RWA" - "Replica Watches Anonymous"
  18. Nice photo Ade! And such a beautiful watch, enjoy!
  19. Well, the guy that has been here for over 4000 posts says "send it back". The guy with 13 posts says "smack it"... I'd go with - send it back.
  20. Ah...well maybe I should just be happy with what I've got then! I will say, it does look good, and keeps perfect time for the last 2 years.
  21. I've got the BR01-94 too, but it's a cheap quartz I picked up in Bahrain. I was wanting to get a better one with and auto mvmt. Just never see anything on the forums about them so I thought I'd ask. Thanks guys for the imnput. Maybe we can get another craze going!
  22. I don't see much written about Bell & Ross on the forum. Why is that? Do they not make good reps or are they a brand that people just dont like?
  23. Wow, that's beautiful. I was trying not to buy another rep for a while. Thanks a lot Cougar!
