  1. Hi there, first time on the Breitling area so be gentle. Normally play in the Panerai and Rolex Vintage patches, however read a post on the SOH and fell hard! My question is this, should I go with the SOH Chrono Blue V3 Rubber from Puretime as my first Breiting? I have no rubber straps in my small collection. It is love at first sight, local AD has one in the window and the rep looks almost 100% accurate.

Just sent my Rolex DRSD and new 1655 McQueen away for some work, new crystals, cleaning and some minor CQ shaping. The Breitling looks FAB out of the box. My Panerai 288K runs the Asian 7750 and I have had no problems with it. Thanks in advance. Chris9

  2. Which Clark's crystal is the best replacement for the Perfect Clones 1665 Double Red? Not sure how accurate the standard crystal is. Other than that, the DRSD is great!

Have just ordered a 1655 Explorer 2 from Andrew along with a new Clark's which offers better magnification.

Next on the wish list is a 1680 White Sub.

    Dam this vintage bug!

  3. Hi Al, I ordered two watches from Andrew at Trustytime last day of April, got QC's on the 5th due to May day holidays and dispatched China 7th. This is my second order from Andrew, usual lead time is about 7-12 days from order to delivery. Have also ordered from Perfect Clones and Pure Time, both really good and about the same lead time. Regards Chris9

  4. Thanks P,

Andrew at TrustyTime has a couple of straight second hand options, problem is the hour and minute hands are so wrong on both. His lume dot, folded bracelet is nice, much better hands, but the second hand is wrong. Now I see why people mod! Thanks again for your great advice. Most appreciated. Chris9

  5. The Mcqueen Explorer 11 has me totally bewitched.... It all started with a Double Red Seadweller and now i am hooked on this vintage stuff!

I MUST HAVE a 1655, losing sleep pooring over all the TD's sites!

But which one? Should it be the 1655 with strait second hand on a 7205 riveted bracelet or a 1655 with luminous dot secon hand and 7836 folded bracelet?

    Help?

  6. I purchased two Pam's from "Perfectwatchs" before I found RWG. A 1950 manual wind and a Regatta chrono. Love them like my first child, even if they are not very accurate. I ordered a 288 from Andrew and was amazed at the quality of service and the watch! So impressed I am just about to order his Pam390LE1.

  7. Just got my Pam 288 from Andrew. I was totally blown away by the care his company had taken in preping my watch for delivery. I have purchased from other TD's and none have come close. Many RWG members state "first pick your dealer" before buying a watch, I have found a dealer I have total confidence in and can honestly and without hesitation recommend to anyone. My original order was out of stock, quick communication from Andrew about options, placed new order directly with him via emails, QC photos up in 2 days, shipped in 24 hours and arrived 3 days later. Oh, and what a fantastic watch! Chris9

  8. More research has been done, PureTime Vintage Double Red Dial 6 looks closest to gen, even if the double red lines are white! Apparently this happened to the gen V1 dial, faded to light pink or completely to white. CG's not flash though, but acceptable. PureTime's Double Red Prototype is another good option. CG's look better, however font details not as good as dial 6..... Now I get the Franken/modding thing!

  9. Good point Jkay, however the 2x Red is lovely.......Friends know I collect reps, even my mate who has a genuine Rolex Sub enjoys checking out my latest toys.

Joshua from Perfect Clones, he is about $20 dearer, but his QC photos are much more accurate. PureTime had wrong dial option in their QC photo, not great for the confidence. Andrew from Trusty has a few worth consideration too.

Franken/modded not my thing at the moment. I am sure it will come though as i get more into this hobby. It does become a bit of an obssesion!!

  10. Good morning all, help! :snorkel:

Who makes the best Vintage Double Red sea dweller?

I have looked at all the TD sites and like a couple on Josh's. One with a swiss movement one with asian. I have emailed him with a few questions.

Anyway, I am looking for the most accurate rep as it is time to step up the quality of my collection and who better to ask than the colective wisdom of the RWG!

    Thanks in advance.

    Chris

  11. Thanks for all the replies.... All great options. My main concern was with the 7750 movement in the AP ROO Chrono with Sec@12. Lots of posts on how fragile it can be. $500 a lot to spend on a potential lemon!

Still leaning towards the Pam 188 H or is it the AP Safari, or the Ebel......

Just got my DSSD V7 from PureTime, under $200US and with only a few minor tells. Great value for the money.

    Thanks again.

  12. Hi there,

I need a new white faced chrono to add to my collection, exchange rate $0.82NZ makes buying both watches way too much!

Which way should a boy go? Panerai 188 H Daylite SS/LE White or AP ROO Safari with leather???? Love the look of both.

As any new noob should do, I have been reading through the RWG files. The ROO movement appears to be a possible weakness and this has left me a little unsure about reliability.

"first select your dealer...." I will buy from Andrew @ Trustytime, so have no worries about the dealer.

$400-600 is a lot of money to spend, your collective wisdom is much appreciated.

    Thanks.

  13. I am new to this area, spend most of my time with Pam's and Omega's. Looking to stray and like the looks of the AP RO Ltd City of Sails Chrono(AP0022) from Andrew at Trusty.

Flirting with a Pam 288K or the unknown, but very nice looking AP0022

Am I being foolish, is AP0022 a good Rep or will I be left wanting more?

    Any advice greatfully accepted.

  14. Just a quick hi to all and a big thank you for all the help RWG has been to me. Just about to confirm a PAM288K from Andrew to join my "1950" and Regatta. This rep watch collecting is addictive, spending long hours on the internet.... EMS is all we can get from China to NZ, 5-6 days the norm, but Christmas took 10. Exchange rates make collecting attractive at the moment. Best regards Chris9
