  1. Ahh. Paul. Your very best friend. I remember getting one of my very first reps from Paul about 6 years ago. Still runs great. Bought several very nice and affordable reps from his variety of web sites over the years. Heard lots of good and bad stories, but I never had a problem. Always fast shipping and good value for the money. I'll have to visit him again.
  2. I think that's the way to go. I tend to hang in there until my eyes glaze over, and that's when it's time to quit. There's always so much interesting stuff going on, it's a hard habit to quit. I already have my eye on some of those new Pams, and I really should hang on to my $$$, but, well, you know....
  3. I'm back, too. Had to take a little time off. Got a little overwhelmed with watch stuff. Had a little wood refinishing project... only took about a year. Right before that, my subscription was denied for some reason that I couldn't figure out at the time. I don't know if it was because my credit card company changed my account number, or my isp had to change my email address, or what. I have to sign in with my old email, and I'd like to upgrade, but still keep my avatar so folks know who I am again. Maybe someone on the admin team can help me out with this. Looks like there's a lot of stuff happening, new members, new reps, etc. I've been lurking for a few days and am starting to get the hang of it again. Good to see some of the same folks are still here. I really like the new section with Frederico's handmade watches. I gotta get me one o' them someday, but I'll probably have to sell my Porsche to do it.
  4. I need to get in touch with admin team re: my subscription but I can't PM anyone. All i get is a grey line and an "x" under it. What the heck am I doing wrong?
  5. Just got mine from Josh. Looks good, despite the alleged flaws. Need to get it to Z for a lube just to be sure.
  6. I wasn't able to PM either. Hopefully email works. We don't have many people with The Zigmeister's expertise.
  7. I only remember one person asking about a watch I was wearing. I just said "Yeah, it's a fake. Made in China. Isn't that incredible?" And then they wanted to have a closer look.
  8. Thanks for the excellent review (again) Rob. Now I guess all us AP fans will be out a few bucks.
  9. Francisco, thanks for the GREAT review. Guess I won't be buying a Daytona anytime soon. Got two already, one seconds @6 that's almost dead, and a secs @9 repaired by The Zigmeister. I suppose we won't really have a decent Daytona until someone gets the movement right. I had to laugh at the 29 jewel part, it reminds me of the time transistor radios were all the rage. Wow, I guess I am really old. They were marketed as " 6 TRANSISTORS!"," 16 TRANSISTORS!" and, apparantly, if you had more transistors than the next guy, you were really "with it". Well, I opened one of these things up, and, sure enough, there were the 16 transistors. But only about 5 of 'em were attached to any circuitry. So, truth in marketing would have advertised " 16 TRANSISTORS, 5 ACTUALLY WORKING TRANSISTORS!". But who would've bought 'em? I guess we'll be in for a long wait. THANKS FOR SAVING ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!!!
  10. Happy couple of days after your birthday! (I'm generally tardy for most things except a watch repair appointment!)
  11. oops. TTK is not trustytime. I think you can find TTK on the other forums, but not here.
  12. and a fine GTG it was indeed. Again, congrats to Stephane and vlydog for the organization. It was a blast to meet some members in person. It was a little intimidating to be at one table with a wealth of information being discussed, along with a pile of reps and gens.
