Nice.
Details on this beauty please.

My case should be on the way. Thanks for sharing your build.

Oh boy, now I'm gonna have to build one like that...

I know this is a not dated, but HR does sell branded Rolex dials for 6538 and 6200. He also has Tudor 7922 rose dials. They are actually quite nice. They are 29mm as are most rep dials but the quality is superb.

Good afternoon,
I bought a modded 6538 the other day. It is based on this watch http://www.helenarou.com/6538-homage-connery-bond-sub-watch-with-eta-2836-elabore-65382836.html
Anyone have experience with this case set? Looking for a domed plexi and end links that will work with this case. I assume a tropic 17 will work but has anyone fitted a gen spec crystal on one of these? Also end links that fit the best.
Trying to get the parts ordered and shipped while the watch is in transit. The vintage craze continues
Thanks
I have built a couple on the HR platform. I was able to use plexi purchased from cousins. I don't recall the size now but if you locate one of my 6538 posts its there. I also modified the bezel to be bidirectional. I really like the HR platform although it is a bit pricey.

Awesome build! I'm wondering why you chose to go with the Tropic 21, though, when there are good aftermarket Tropic 22s out there? Usually, you go with a T21 only if you want a Superdome crystal on your 1016.
It is indeed a Tropic 22. Thank you, sir, for the catch. And thank you for your kind coments.

Very nice job, indeed. Can you share information on your brass movement mount? I am very interested. Thanks!

I prefer the Silix. It accepts 29mm dial and is cheaper. I've done 6 builds on Silix, one on Tiger and one on Helenarou. You just can't beat the Silix for the money.

Today I present my Rolex Explorer Reference 1016 project. Although I hate to admit it, I was not a fan of the Explorer watches, or any other than the vintage Submariner (with crown guards) models when I first got into reps. Slowly I started to appreciate the beauty of the big crown watches and I built six or seven of those. Recently, after finishing a 6200 build, I got to thinking about the 3-6-9 dial, which made me think of the Explorer. I started looking at other builds, and, yes, eventually, my opinion of this watch started to change. I started to appreciate the simplicity of it. And after trying on a vintage DateJust, I realized a 36mm watch was not ridiculously small on my 8" wrists. So, I started my research on the 1016 and a few days later, I saw JMB's sales thread for 1016 cases with his bezel. I snatched one up right away and then started to purchase my parts. I have to admit this was a rather easy build, due largely in part because of the whole case from JMB. I settled on a Yuki dial and hand set, and to my luck, he happened to have his 7206 in stock, so I grabbed one up (although I originally intended to use it on another build). I purchased a 2842 from a fellow member to complete the parts. I like the 2842 and have used it in several builds now.Anyway, as soon as the parts arrived, I started by giving the dial a quick spray of matte varnish. Although it was a matte dial, i like the texture and look the spray gives the dial. After letting it dry overnight, I pulled out my minimal tools and put this beauty together. I was quite impressed with this watch as soon as it became whole. It has quickly become a favorite.Parts list:JMB Case with custom CNC machined bezel and Clark T21 crystalYuki matte Explorer dial and handsETA 2842 serviced movementYuki 7206 braceletNow on to the photos:

Hum...Sorry to ask, where can I oder them?
Adrian posted his link at homage forum. Send him pm or email there to order.
He is traveling right now but his wife is processing orders for these types of items.

Reps should have a friction washer. Usually they are loose and you have to bend them slightly to create friction.
You can get a friction washer from Clark on eBay. Works well.

Some folks have success with a wadded up ball of duct tape. Other than that, you need the tool. Even a cheap one will work.

Take off bracelet.
Unscrew case back.
Remove screw from rotor (optional).
Remove stem.
Remove tab screws and tabs (2 of each).
place something flat over movement and flip watch over. The movement and dial should easily come out of the case.
Remove the second hand.
Press minute hand on.
Press second hand back on.
I make sure the hour and minute hand are lined up at 12 when you press them on.
Be careful not to scratch dial.
Reverse instructions to put it all back together.

Email HR about it. He has these cases branded/engraved, as well. He's also making dials for the 5513. There are some nice examples of the 5517 over on Homageforum for you to take a look at. Have been getting good reviews.

This is a very simple fix. The hand just needs to be pressed back on. If you don't have a hand press tool you can easily do this with tweezers.

Thank you all for your very kind words. Much appreciated.
Nanuq, thank you for the advice on the crown and your vary generous offer on the inserts. I would not mind you sending them my way if you are willing to part with them. I could use some of that brisk Alaskan air again!

Excellent work. Love the strap on your 6200, as well.

Thank you. Saved me some money trying to find out.

I recently came into a 7206 bracelet which is too tight for me. I need two spare links. It is crazy expensive for 7206 links, but 7205 are within my rice range. Will links from the 7205 fit? I realize the 7205 is 19mm end links, but not sure if the other links are the same.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Just an FYI, Athaya at HomageForum is close to releasing his 702 crown. Looks fantastic and is a must for cartel stubby guards.
