  1. love all! listen up buddy : what is that u boat ??? gen or replica??? if its a rep, where did ya get it??? looking for an u boat watch rep for ages... but seems like I have to spend some more for a gen.

    nice start!!!

  2. hi friend,

okay - so here is my story:

I bought a pam from a guy in NL. He was kind to me waiting for 4 days tull my paypal accound (new one) got the verification. than he posted the watch (trace & track no. incl.)

I was waiting for almost 2 weeks till it showed up.

the really strange thing is that even if I payed the extra 10 euro for trace and track, I was not able to find and track down the order - not even one day before it arrived!

I presume it just takes some time getting things - the really annoying thing is that I always purchase only from EU citizens - since i don wanna chance it to get lost at customs. - and even if it is in EU - takes twice as much time as posting from US!!!!

Laz is solving a similar problem at the moment. as advised by the post office - one week late is still too early to start investigation...

maybe you just need to wait for few more days... than start some actions. (hmm - but what can we do in such a case???)

    good luck to you.

    keep us updated.

  3. well.. thank you a lot...

for your info - from what I know - us technology that time was far better than swiss movements.

IWC was using these movements in that time because of low price = higher sales.

    could be correct.

the dollar value is not important to me, this watch belonged to my grand father who got it from his father - who moved from europe to the US... came back just once and gave this piece of history to my grand father as a gift...

    thank you for info!

  4. Ok I'm the last guy to be able to give you info on this but I have seen other cases where the members have pointed someone in the same position as yours towards the online antique auction sites.

I also remember that member Omni knew of a few places to check into these watches.

    Ken

well, thank you buddy, will drop him a note... Im just into finding out what it is...

    thx again!

  5. hi all.

I want to share with you some pics and maybe ask for additional info...

I just got a genuine very old Elgin watch in a genuine IWC casting.

this watch has b. with the family for over 100 years, unf. I can not get any infromation about why / when did these U.S. guys sell movements to IWC.

I already have some info about this old mans watch, but still not getting smart from the history.

please if you have smt. to share about its origin, let me know.

    thank you.
