I have one I'm building right now. Sadly it's with the old cartel case with short crown guards.
The case has been engraved between the lugs by JMB and the lugs drilled to gen spec. The Caseback is currently being engraved by JMB as we speak.
It also has a gen spec Athaya 700 crown and tube fitted.
I also have a big dazz relumed hands and Helenarou dial and on his return from his trip have ordered a new bezel insert from him too.
As for the crystal, I went for a Sternkreuz Rolex No.19 ) Sternkreuz XS305.451.
I bought the watch with an Asian 2836 -2 but given time would like to replace it with a low beat.

+for Kenny. He is a standup guy who always does a fantastic job.
Yeah I've had a Tudor BB and a Rolie AK done by him and was very happy with the results.

Any chance of letting me know how you got on with this build. Ive just bought a BP 1655 (is this cartel?).
I plan on sending it to Daz for the lug holes to be modded and some dial work.
The case work you describe is my real issue. I have recently bought a dremel, but would need greater guidance on how the case modifications need to be done. Although daunting I'd really like to give it a go.
Thanks.

I love what you've done mate, mine says hi.
Please do not repost an entire previous poster's set of pics just to add a line or 2 of text.
Sorry about that, was done so in error. I always use tapatalk and it's not entirely forum friendly.

Sorry no idea. Looks like it has the correct hollow midlinks which is a plus. The 580 endlinks are wrong though, they shouldn't be open to access the springbars. The springbars you have aren't gen spec either.
Here's the WSO 580 endlink
Thanks. When JMB receives the case I've asked him to drill out the holes to accept gen spec bars and then I can order some 580 WSO end links. I presume they are the right reference for a 7928?
Thanks

Jack flash - I've got this 5513 cartel based Tudor 7928. Do you know what this 93150 bracelet might be?

This is the thing I love about this particular forum. The love of vintage...and vintage Rolex at that!
When I first joined the rep forums I was after a Rolex - Modern. Then my tastes changed and I sought Panerai and similar high quality modern reps.
My tastes however have now come full circle....almost....but now I seek vintage Rolex's.
Sadly I cannot afford the likes of NDT and Phong and Minh. I am one of many members enjoying the world of budget vintage builds. I cannot afford the stunning and beautiful Frankens that I see on here daily.
But, this is what 'I' love about this forum! This particular forum! Vintage Rolex! To me it's beautiful!
Sorry to hijack this thread! I'm done.

I've been looking for an athaya 702 crown and tube- I've checked the website but can't see them. Also checked their eBay store but no luck either. Anyone know where I can get them from??
I've literally just ordered a 700 crown and tube from Athaya (Aka Adrian). I did it through PM on the homage forum. I think your best bet would be to PM him over there. He responds pretty quickly.

Toro has this PAM111H on sale at the moment and by all accounts, although it's an older model it's still a super rep according to the oracle 'Ale' and in his words recently on the other RWG, you can't get a better Panerai at this price!! $158

Basically you're get getting
1) Panerai PAM 594 Luminor Black Seal 8days PVD 44mm.
2) Panerai PAM 605 Luminor Daylight 8days White Dial 44mm.
The Panerai PAM 785 Special Edition Set Daylight & Black Seal 8days 44mm is a unique Special Edition of 500 Sets created world wide.
Both watches were created in commemoration to early model Pre Vendom watches made in the early 1990's.
The genuine box set included
1) Collectors Edition Xa Flotiglia Mas Book.
2) Collectors Model Sub and Panerai teak wood stand.
3) Two Extra straps with sewn in Logo embossed buckles, screwdriver, Panerai strap travel pouch.
4) Certificate, Manual, Libretto & Movement sticker for each watch, polish cloth, unique pearwood box & outer cartons.
I would have thought that each rep watch could be bought for around $160 each so the set is not a bad price with the included Panerai branded leather carry pouch.
Toro Bravo has some good deals on Noob Factory Panerai's at the moment so it might be worth checking him out before committing to he twin set deal.

Reviving and older post. Decided to bite the bullet and give one of Yuki's 7206 bracelets a try on a PCG 5513. On arrival the endlinks looked a little flat, maybe they were stepped on in transit, so not a great start. (The bracelet was in a FedEx envelop without protection, it had been opened by customs – also delivered to the wrong address. I was surprised to see at all.)
On to the pics. Endlinks on arrival:
As in previous posts, the endlink loops need to be massaged, or more precisely cudgelled into shape to accept gen spec springbars. Here's the result, strap and endlinks still need some final finishing and the bracelet hasn't been resized.
Still not 100% sure it suits the watch, profile of the endlinks are probably more suited to a 6538 or 1016.
End links don't look great I agree. Great bracelet though. Still haven't gotten one yet. Shame Yuki didn't bother packing it with any care considering the price!

Thanks Frazzle !
Yours is very nice too.
What hands do you have ? Not the silix stock. Raffles dial and hands ?
Well it's actually an old photo, I now have a 4 liner HR dial from Daz in this budget build.
The hands are from Rafflestime and have been lumed by Daz.
The crystal is an SK Generic Tropic Glass No. 21 (custom lowered by Rolie).
I ordered a Yuki bezel insert but it never fit so I now have a clean rafflestime bezel insert with Daz acrylic Pearl.
Movement is a genuine Swiss ETA 2879, which has had a tune up by Rolie.
Case is from Silix, lugs re-drilled and polished and gen spec 2mm spring bars fitted (Daz). Spring bar ends rounded for more gen look (Daz). Lugs and case shaped, softened and polished (Rolie).
It's currently mounted on a river bracelet I acquired from StoneP which I have hand aged slightly. I would like a better quality rivet bracelet if I can find one.

Looking for a replacement insert for my 1675 GMT
in Questions & Answers
Posted
Hi guys, been a long time since I posted on here, lots going on but I have been dipping in and out browsing.
I have a gorgeous modified 1675 GMT that was built by Odesseys (I keep get the spelling wrong)
The spec is as follows
Rolex 1675 Build, based on a 1965 El Cornino without the gilt dial
Genuine Swiss ETA 2846 low beat non hacking movement (as per gen caliber 1565) - Hacking movement didn't come in until 1971
GMT mechanism locked to midnight - time zone is set by bezel (as per gen)
Clarkes T25-116 Crystal Fitted
Clarkes Bezel fitted which has gen spec profile.
Clarkes Bezel installed and lightly faded
Crown guards re shaped and case re polished.
Hands and dial re-lumed with vintage lume (watch lume.net)
Genuine Rolex USA Jubilee Bracelet with big crown clasp.
Rafflestime Caseback, with sterile inside surface
Technically correct 1675 engraving at 12 o Clock and 6 o'clock. For the keen eyed, the serial number on the case would date the watch around 1974 and this case is obviously based on an El Cornino which stopped around 1965. Also Rolex didn't start engraving the lugs 'Orig Rolex Design' until the 80's I've never got round to having it changed to something more suitable.
Anyway, my dilema is that although the bezel insert is lovely, ever since seeing a gen with fat font insert i have fallen out of love for the skinny font Clark’s one I have. Can anyone recommend where I could acquire a better insert please.
