  1. I'm nearly finished with 2nd goaround on P90X, along with some extra cardio running and cycling. I really enjoy the program. It's really no secret, commitment to a high intensity workout program and eating clean, frequent small meals 90% of the time = RESULTS! For someone starting out, I would highly recommend "Starting Strength" program first, it is a phenomenal program that I still do each year.

  2. Getting screwed and finding out when in good mood is one thing, finding it out when in financial troubles is completely different.

Invite him for some beers and show him your nice reps. Have an evening full of watchtalk and laughter. This might push up his mood!

Ya, I did feel bad for him but I've never even met this guy. I suppose the least I could do is guide him to sources to find quality reps, since he probably has never been in a sound financial position to buy a "gen" rolex in the first place.

  3. It might be worth going to an AD with this guy for pure entertainment value. However, based upon the poor quality of both the watch and the photos this guy is a nut and I'd stay away from him.

Ya, I'm not sure how many minutes we would be there before they asked us to kindly leave.

    Gen for reference.

Beautiful! This may be my favorite Rolex, I have always had a thing for white dials.

  4. So I have a friend who asked if I would be interested in picking this up from a guy he works with who has run into financial trouble. These are photos I received from a bad camera phone, supposed to receive better pics later. The 2nd to last photo is the best over the 10 minutes of our text conversation requesting better pics. I have a fair collection of gen watches, but have never owned or really even closely examined the Explorer II. Anyway tell-tale signs from these bad photos?

  5. The NoobFactory makes ONE DSSD watch. This is it. Please do not confuse the new person.

BK, TimesShop, Andrew, Angus, Josh ... they all have the same [censored] watch. Please don't make this more complicated than it is.

    :clap2:

  6. That sucks, know what you're talking about... You just need to pull the trigger quicker next time ;)

I wish you could sign up to receive email alerts for keywords in specific forums, like you can on some other sites. This one I only missed by 1.5 hours but a really good deal never lasts long. Ah well, the search will continue B)

  7. Is there anything worse than waiting and waiting for a good deal on one particular watch you just can't not own, only to find it, jump on it, and be 2nd in line? It's happened twice now in 6 months! POC orange on steel, seller rated 90% I would rate 93% based on additional pics he e-mailed, for $3,000! I was ready to spend $3,800 on the same watch, only near mint but on rubber (orange stitching) which is exactly what I want. Same scenario. I feel like punting a baby!

  8. Looks really nice, I don't see anything wrong with it.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to receiving it. Just recently bought a modded 000 from a member here, first time even seeing one in the flesh, and was smitten. So...my first 2 reps both PAMs! If this 111 is anything close to the 000 I received, I cannot see myself ever buying a gen PAM.

  9. I'll ask them to. Thanks :)

Yes it's the H-factory 111N. A lot of people seem to prefer the N-factory version, but all the comparisons I could find that paint the N-factory version in a much better light are the older rep updates. I can't see that much of a difference myself in these, and my usual dealer didn't have the N-factory one so I went with H-factory. I hope I'll be happy anyway and that it's not a huge difference in quality.

As far as I can see your watch looks fine as well - but I'm a complete noob when it comes to Panerai so get a second or third opinion ;)

I honestly did not have a strong preference for one over the other...they each have their own unique flaws vs gen, but for being reps I think they are both great watches.

  10. I placed an order yesterday with PureTime for the 111 N noob...after the fact I remembered reading all the recent negative feedback. My first rep purchase from an AD, so will just be patient and hope all goes well! I had planned on doing all my business with Andrew, but he doesn't carry it yet AFAIK.

  11. The bezel on the 8500 PO's are significantly different than the originals when you compare them side by side, and the more you compare them, I think you will realize as a whole they are very different. I recently was shopping for a gen PO and was ready to buy the new 8500, and just wanted to decide on the 42mm vs 45mm. I have an average 7" wrist, but quite flat, and found that both sizes looked good. The 8500 adds approx. 1mm, which doesn't seem like much on paper but on the wrist the 8500 felt entirely different than the 2500. The 8500 42mm is nearly the same height as the 2500 45mm, and relative to the 2500 42mm feels very top heavy even on the bracelet. Both the 42mm and 45mm 2500 just seemed to contour my wrist perfectly, very well balanced. I ended up buying a 42mm white on black 2500, and never looked back. For me, it's just the perfect size/weight and can be dressed up or down easily. I could see myself buying the orange 45m 8500 PO or POC on rubber in the future (or a rep if a nice one comes along), because I am still giddy over it and have a few large pieces I really enjoy (Chronomat Evo, Navi). But I was looking for a sport/dive watch I could wear on a bracelet comfortably for long hours at work (and fit easily under shirt cuffs), and the 42mm 2500 was perfect. I am interested to see how well the 8500 42mm sells...personally it is one of the most awkward wearing watches I have worn.
