  1. Hi APnoobster....

    Visiting member from RWG here...

I hope you post some pics when you receive your watch....

I know lighting conditions play a part but the first three pics look very YG

The last three ... do look quite RG...

Not quite sure why the light may have been changed half way through a shoot but it sure looks that way.... even the colour of the white background has changed...!!!

PS... Was just looking at your AP list.... we have a near identical collection of AP's.. great taste.....

notwithstanding just had 5 stolen... !!

  2. I would NOT recommend using a carbon-cased watch for diving. The reason they discontinued the gen FC Diver is because they had tremendous difficulty maintaining water-resistance consistency, and when you take into account the fact that the rep cases/gaskets are nowhere near as well made as the gens, you're just asking for problems.

It appeared to be discontinued..... but it is back up on the AP site again..... next to the ceramic in the line up...... I think AP may have resolved their FC issues.....

With regard to WP........ I would never trust the facs claims with any of my watches...... I have the V3  and H fac FC divers... and they with about 5 other AP´s will al be going to Domi for WP.. AR.... and movement mods....  SS models .. a re polish as well

  3. Got my RB II From Ryan a couple of weeks ago...... Mightily impressed........

and these in the last few weeks as well

V5 Diver from him...... same again.....fantastic close to gen rep

And  a ROO Tour... nice it´s not on every other website

And a chronopassion....... sublime watch... I love it....

And a Survivor winging its way to me as I write

    Top TD Ryan......

  4. you guys mean the mix of the titanium on the back plate with the SS? i personally see a lot of mixed materials on lots of watches.. exemple most of the ap's montoya etc are half carbon half metals..

and in the worst case cenario ill still have the original back plate

The AP's come out the factory like that with different ,materials.....

For me it's about as getting as close to gen as possible......

I do agree that it is about doing what you want and like though.... and you can always go back...

    As Oscar Wilde said..

Fashion is what one  wears oneself....

    What  is unfashionable.......

Is that ...... that others wear !!!!!

  5. Best you can get is OEM.

You can say the same about the watches..... but it's sorta price prohibitive for most people..........

at a OEM strap cost of twice the cost of the whole (secs @12) rep watch.....

it's like putting a $2000 platinum band on a $50 cubic zirconia diamond....

I have 3 Gen AP ROO's ...... all have AP bands as spares...... and will be getting some Jacobs .... some Migloiore... and some Orloffs for them as well

Simples....... AP's are amazing..... but they are also a bloody rip off and if you can save a few bucks for something that is virtually  indistinguishable...... hell yes

  6. Actually guys:

Sometimes the UK DOES charge an import tax based on declared value, without opening or seizing the watch.

    No way to tell....

Of course..... customs can't and don't open every package..........

but if any TD sends out watches with a declared value of $500 that I get charged $150 duty on including processing fees.......

which stands as much chance of being opened as a declared value $18 package

He will clearly be suffering from the infamous....... I want to destroy my business virus !!!!!

  7. Thank you for your help, much appreciated. I am UK based, do you know if i will need to pay any tax once watch is delivered?

You are joking aren't you......what you are buying is counterfeit ..... illegal to manufacture...... if it is stopped and checked at customs...... it will be seized.... so the answer is

You will not have to pay tax !!!!

  8. guys,

box and papers can be made, every now and then theres member who sell their diver complete wiuth faux AD stamp.

    my doubt is the DW.

    the pics shows 100% rep.

unless the seller just google and use a rep pics because he is a lazy bum.

This dealer is legit.....I was only saying the box and papers are ONE of the things you look for.... one of the MINOR things you look for.....in a list as long as your arm....

It's like saying when you buy a used car..... I bought the car cos the tyres were ok

Scammers will take gen movements out of gens and put reps in.... and the other way around.....and the list goes on

The only thing you can do ito be 100% is buy from a very reputable dealer.. and still get it checked out by an AD with a watch maker in store.....

  9. 99.9% real....he's got over 7,000 positive feedback selling high endish stuff .... about 17 other AP's ... some of them butt ugly......

He's had over 4,000 hits on the page.... hence the 8 offers....

They have an actual showroom in NYC...... and telephone nos you can check.... etc etc

    This watch is Gen

Rep sellers... don't have genuine boxes... and papers which are easy to spot... and usually very low feedback... limited blurb and a quick 3 day sale to see if they can catch someone !!!

If you are careful you can buy Gen on Ebay... but I mean really carefull

I sourced my Gen AP ROO Rose Gold Rubberclad off ebay...... made an offer... it was accepted..... so I bought it....

Guy was an authorised Rolex retailer.... and I still travelled to Italy to pick it up and pay in person...... That's what I mean by being .... really careful !!!!
