  1. This sounds interesting...good info thanks,...I'm in the market for a high end FM, was your friends dealer a TD on here?

Toad did a fantastic review on the crazy hours back in 2008... this is one stunning style of watch, would appreciate being pointed in the right direction for

    one of these too...

All TDs have access to the same inventory. I would contact a few different TDs to get a quote on the watch you are interested in, and research if there have been issues reported for the TD you select prior to placing the order.

As for the crazy hours I've also been looking for the Jumbo version (with the Curvex case) but have been unable to find one with the correct numerals. All the models available come with the incorrect Long Island numerals (not the color, but the shape of the numbers). This image was provided by Guanaco at RWI.

  2. Now we are getting somewhere :-) this was way before my time, pls let us know more about theese watches :-) how would the ar and attention to detail compare to todays watches? Can a 2004 breit beat a 2012 h or n maker? Remember. We are talking all time best here. Skickat från min GT-I9100 via Tapatalk 2

When I was researching Franck Muller watches I read about a Conquistador rep (not the Conquistador Cortez) that was available in 2006 or 2007 that was extremely close to the gen. Even the movement was the same due to the movements used by Franck Muller at the time. I think I read it on RG but since it's down I couldn't look it up.

Now the FM Conquistador Cortez that is currently available also has stellar reviews. A member purchased a gen after owning the rep and said amazing things about the quality of the rep (also on RG). If you're looking for accuracy stay away from the white dial with black numbers as that is a fantasy model.

  3. You are the one getting personal and I'm the fool? Time for you to look in the mirror.

And why is it not relevant how much the watch is selling for now? Because you say so? Grow up! I'm glad you used one of your 23 posts to insult another member. A great contributor you are!

  4. Before I ordered my RBII I contacted several modders and also the non-modders that had done the mod to their own watch. I wasn't able to find anyone that would do it. Now I feel better about not having this mod but if the opportunity came up to do it I would seriously consider. Let me know if you ever find anyone. I'll do the same. :)

  5. you need a face-plate mod... And so do i.... and all the RBII owners on the forum....!

the face-plate is a dead give away....

almost got caught and it was really embarrassing....!

I have an RBII without the face plate mod and I don't think it's that big of a tell. The gen is a $60k+ watch ($120k for the blue version). I doubt many people out there have seen the gen or noticed that you can see the gears behind the dial. And besides, the person would have to be inches from your wrist to notice that you can't see the gears.
