  1. 1.: awesome review!! 2.: the date is a little recessed on the gen too.. 3.: rather a fixed PR than one that works because of some magic gear tricks.. for 2 weeks.. till the movement completely dies on you.. 4.: why, oh why, oh why, oh why.. It was going really good. I was sure to not buy any watches for some time. I can hear me say 'the 112 and the hamilton have to be enough'.. now this..
  2. Oh boy.. Just noticed this thread.. I might have to stand up now.. As I was helping out in the beginning with some 2D drawings I also read that the crowns need to have 60 teeth. As I was drawing I noticed that the angle between the teeth seemed to be slightly off when compared to some crown pictures and fine compared to other pictures.. Since I told everyone involved that I have no further knowledge of the exact differences on the various Panerai models (pre-v, etc..) I pretty much relied on what I read in the original project thread, etc.. It didn't cross my mind though to ask for a picture of a definite gen to count the teeth. I feel awefully stupid now for not saying anything so that other experienced members could have pointed out that the t-crowns need less teeth (which explains the slightly off angle). However I have to raise my hat to T for beeing such an honest gentleman and discussing transparent for all members this problem and offering such a generous compromise..
  3. Elevators, huh.. Don't you have to wait for ever for your car to come out? It crossed my mind, but I thought it would also be too expensive to build a big place like that entirely with elevators and such for normal inner city parking.. But then again, hey, it is the US, right..?
  4. Nice GTG report and pictures.. I have a somewhat odd question though.. How does that car parking place work? There is only enough room for 2 cars back to back, but how does one get the cars in and out?
  5. If it is about the stache you have no chance my friend. Not even a little one.
  6. after months of wearing the 112 this for a change..
  7. No need for pants, when you work from home. Homer already proved that.
  8. Glad that I could help. Since you mention 'speedy', maybe these pictures will help to get a closer look..
  9. By-Tor, By-Tor, By-Tor... the proper rolex wristshot has to be in an angle from above, so that you can see this pants and white socks in this awesome adiletten.. you still have to learn a lot, grasshopper..
  10. I actually have two and I love them. The leather and the stitching are great and the second keeper is attached to the first, so it wont slide around.. The downside however is that you can't change the buckle since the strap has two holes side by side and not one.. (not my image; btw: this guy has obviously cut the "keepers keeper" loose, otherwise they couldn't move so far away..)
  11. di-modell rallye If you are looking for a racing style strap I can recommend this one. Great quality for little money.
  12. The glass on the one that PT once sold is domed instead of flat like the glass on the one from Eurotimez. But it has other flaws like the dots on the marker at 12. They are too far apart from each other. However since PT isn't able to source the speedy any longer you would have to go with the one from Eurotimez anyway. I was always thinking about getting a moonwatch but when you compare pictures of the gen with the rep you will see that the rehaut seems to be a lot smaller on the gen than on the reps. The dials stands more out on the gen and that makes the watch for me.. The subdial spacing wouldn't even bother me..
  13. WOW!!! Wear it in good health..
  14. they just don't want to provide me with my exit watch..
  15. arnold is doing 60 mm.. but then again.. arnold is also too big..
  16. WOW Jay.. You have the coolest stuff laying around! I will cry myself to sleep tonight. I wonder how it would look like if you use a fat hour hand. Like the one on the mini fiddy. Wouldn't be gen though. But then again who knows what you will find when you dig deep enough in the 'Panerai stuff' drawer..
  17. I was talking about the blue one (248). Unscrewing without heating up works for me.
  18. Well, I never had to heat something up with loctite blue. If you carefully unscrew, there shouldn't be a problem, imho.
  19. Ich dachte das waere ultra geheim gewesen?
  20. wow. good to know the efforts weren't for nothing.
  21. a thousand watches and me in a hotel room. thats like my ultimate sex fantasy. it is just missing some hookers and blow..
  22. Waking up to that song on my cellphone in the morning and knowing everything is going to be AWESOME! PEANUTBUTTER JELLLLLLAAAAY!
  23. Well I am just saying, that if the guy who is producing the crowns doesn't want to put the drawings online for everyone to see, because it could be used as evidence against him, we should respect that. He promised to sell them cheap. So I see no problem. I can understand that he doesn't want to put stuff at risk. "FIY: What Jimmy Fu plans???" I might be mistaken, but I think I read somewhere that he actually has the plans/drawings for the parts or could get them, but doesn't want to, because of the risk to get sued. Don't know for sure however.
  24. OMG. Who TF is this guy and where does all that good stuff come from? Uncle Jay, how can you put up with all that rep problems when you have your drawers full of gen parts?
