  1. Looks nice. Wish there would be a version for use with a buckle though. Especially if people are buying the rubber because they want to wear the watch as a tool watch. I grew to like the look of the bracelett with polished midlinks but I hate that they made such a complex and nice clasp and then connected the first link by welding two spots instead of milling everything from one solid piece.. There are a couple of broken gen clasps on the rolex forums. Wouldn't want to risk having my watch drop to the floor and have the insert shatter on top of what else breaks.. New clasp, new ceramic insert and bezel, full Rolex service.. $$$
  2. The link was telling you to get one from BK and giving you a chance for a great deal too.
  3. I'm sure you wont find a rep of it since it's a kind of rare watch that wasn't sold to regular customers afaik. But you can find those every now and then on a board or the bay for around 500 Euros in good condition..
  4. Wear that occurs from turning has still nothing to do with winding. Haha, man you are ridiculous.
  5. We all saw what happens to bullys on the video of the australian kids. So leave the man alone. He seems to be a cool dude. Also I don't see how people with diamonds on their own bezels can judge anyone for anything...
  6. Oh, ok. I thought the engraving wasn't very deep on the gen either, because I think that some people complained about the paint rubbing off, but I must have confused it with another watch then. Mate, I wasn't talking about the bezel but the whole watch. If you beadblast it, you will have to redo the brushing and polishing. The SS rep is 100% as gen regarding looks. So just DLC the SS rep and putting paint on the bezel and wiping the excess off should leave you with a good result. That is of course, if the SS and DLC gen models have the same finishing. Pics are pics, you would need to see it in the flesh I guess. However the gen is pretty rare, so I doubt that anyone will notice the PVD/DLC difference even if you do manage to find someone who knows B&R.
  7. You could try to dissolve the paint on the bezel on the SS model, then DLC it as is with the correct brushed/polished areas intact, then try to fill the former painted engravings with paint again. Although i think the numbers on the bezel arent deep enough engraved or almost not at all.. Not sure though. But at least you wont have to deal with differently finished areas after bead blasting the PVD off..
  8. So it's not really winding anything if it doesnt do anything, is it. Learn to differentiate winding and turning.
  9. There is no bezel insert on gen or rep. The Lume on the gen isnt THAT great. There is a BR Forum with a million complaints about how the lume sucks on model xy and so on and on with people even getting their gens relumed by watchmakers...
  10. The LCD is part of the movement and not a replication. Thats why the BR has the same font as many other watches with standard ETA display... There have been reports of owners who owned older and newer Breitling Aerospace models, that the display was brighter on the older models. So probably a change made by ETA. Also regarding the DLC comments: How are you going to beadblast and DLC the bezel and get the white painted numbers on there again? And if you know how to, then buying a SS models will save you the beadblasting.
  11. Its only 6 pages, mate. It's not that much to read. Eunomians has bought one and written about it in that thread. Theres even a picture of it in there. And if you actually read through it a member mentions, that Eunomians has sold his. So you go over to the sales sections and find his sales thread with half a dozen pictures of the watch.
  12. Maybe take a look around next time. There is a 6 page thread about the diver that you might have seen by scrolling down...
  13. Probably fell off because the hole on HIS was too big, yes. But people have switched movements on H-factory reps and used the original hands. So don't start any panic..
  14. Same thread on the same page.. Oh well, good luck OP.
  15. ...depends from what dealer you buy from and how much attention you pay to the QC pics. If you do YOUR part right, the only crap you are stuck with is the stuff that the factory didn't get right designwise. OP: you are out of luck mate.. Ask if you can get a new watch when you send yours back with tracking or ask for a new dial and get it replaced yourself. Otherwise Jkay is probably right with his estimation.
  16. I think so.. The only difference between the high and lowbeat movements should be the balance wheel and some gear(s). But I'm not a pro :]
  17. Have a look at the movement from the back. People had the mainspring stuck together /magnetized or had the regulater screw from the swan neck fall in it.. See if the balance wheel moves or if something is blocking it.
  18. I was looking for the Broad Arrow with the Venus movement pretty much everywhere a couple of years ago with no luck.. I'd reeeeeally like to have one. Black dial with silver hands..
  19. I wouldn't say less reliable but probably less accurate in timekeeping. Also I never heard of a particular problem with the movement. If you describe your problems with the watch maybe someone might be able to help you..
  20. New case construction on the new Pams. Please link the 100 answers regarding those.
  21. Empirical research, my friend.
