Dun think any are worth getting since one of the main draws of Balls is the tubes and no reps I've seen have working ones. If you're still interested, watcheden has got one still
-
it mostly means how durable and well built it is, made to last a lifetime.
sorry maybe a little ot, but i dont think this is necessarily true. there are invictas and deep blues that boast 1000m or more water resistant but i doubt theyre anymore durable or well built than a run of the mill 100mm japanese or swiss watch. also for durability id look at something with attention to shockproof, treated metals and anti-magnetic ratings which unfortunately most reps don't have . not that they're not well built.
also, while it's not 2012 a 1:1 Tudor Black Bay super rep is in the works, scheduled for early next year. possibly a Pelagos after.

Anyone have a timeframe for when this should be available?
Angus has said before Chinese New Years if we are lucky.

Interesting that they only sent t the message now. I swear I got that message several months ago and had to make a new account to keep uploading.

Hi guys!
This beauty is aviable with closed stainless steel casebeack somewhere? I'd like the tangomat/tangente, but the open caseback is a not too good.
have not seen closed caseback yet

This is precisely why I REFUSE to buy a loupe. I got a redwood box FULL of GENS!
yeah loupes can be dangerous... once you see that flaw it cannot be unseen... it'll haunt you and could destroy your appreciation for that (gen) watch as you obbess about that tiny speck of dust naked to the eye, or that hour marker's rough edge

Is this www.wrist-check.com/? that is working for me, although I can't see anything other than the log-in page since registrations are closed.
I am interested now how does one go about obtaining access to this site

Get a Seiko diver, less than $200, respected by watch afficionados the world over.
I agree with the Seiko recommendations but if his colleagues are just regular luxury watch owners, they're going to look down Seikos even if it is a Grand Seiko.

Homageforum is working for me right now
-
It stands for PAnerai Model apparently

WUS doesn't allow the sale of Marina Militaire homage watches in their sales forum,
yeah now they actually wont allow any pictures of homages that have trademarked text, like that or superlative chronometer
-
I think they might but it may not be worth the trouble for brands the big brands to do anything .
But Ken at RXW was sued by Pamerai for his remarkable homages. I cannot find what specifically he got sued for but he lost and had to stop production.
They also sued this guy:
http://anton-c.blogspot.com/2008/10/officine-panerai-sues-naples-watch.html
One of the comments on that Page brings up that designs are only protected for 25 years in some European nations. I think that's for artistic works and Idk if watch design counts.

Trident must be a codename for mashup homages.... Christopher Ward has a Trident as well and it takes design aspects from Rolex (bezel), Omega (wave dial) and Bremont (markers, hands).
Haha both brands are also British and have similar taglines: British Heart with Swiss manufacturing/ETA movements.
They also have a Tudor bb homage... Looks to be the same one a HK seller was selling at half the price, just re branded as Trident.
-
Fastest I've had from China/HK is 3 days by EMS. once by airmail as well but that was some watch part. usually takes 4-7 days though.
I also had a FedEx arrive in 1 day from overseas... must have been express. i cant remember anymore.

I got tons of little scratches on my glasses . Afraid to use polywatch because they have coating.

Lol, wait until some of the others get their teeth in, maybe they are not around atm, but a number of others will just drag any useful discussion into the abyss. Fair play to Bonesey for trying to educate, many do want to learn a few things, and even the moderator of the forum is fairly open minded and lets discussions run....but ultimately he really is just taking part in an exercise in futility... (unfortunately!)
I have noticed that as well. I think it the Daytona thread where I first saw it.
Not the phrase I would have used
-
Hoho, Bonesey has opened a can of worms on Page 2, but then again, this gen forum is a little more forgiving than some, although there are a few pitbulls who will mark him for life on there after that. Still interesting discussion on the JLc

Chinese tourboullions can be tough little things.

This is the best and only good option unless you buy a genuine pearl.

Wow, never knew they sold the pearls by themselves.

I think that was his old one from earlier this year before the domain was seized.

Panatime has got some (http://www.panatime.com/prevbuckles.html). You could ask about a discount for a bulk order.

Tom Hardy has been wearing one
