  1. it mostly means how durable and well built it is, made to last a lifetime.

sorry maybe a little ot, but i dont think this is necessarily true. there are invictas and deep blues that boast 1000m or more water resistant but i doubt theyre anymore durable or well built than a run of the mill 100mm japanese or swiss watch. also for durability id look at something with attention to shockproof, treated metals and anti-magnetic ratings which unfortunately most reps don't have :(. not that they're not well built.

also, while it's not 2012 a 1:1 Tudor Black Bay super rep is in the works, scheduled for early next year. possibly a Pelagos after.

  2. This is precisely why I REFUSE to buy a loupe. I got a redwood box FULL of GENS! :)

yeah loupes can be dangerous... once you see that flaw it cannot be unseen... it'll haunt you and could destroy your appreciation for that (gen) watch as you obbess about that tiny speck of dust naked to the eye, or that hour marker's rough edge

  3. I think they might but it may not be worth the trouble for brands the big brands to do anything .

But Ken at RXW was sued by Pamerai for his remarkable homages. I cannot find what specifically he got sued for but he lost and had to stop production.

    They also sued this guy:

One of the comments on that Page brings up that designs are only protected for 25 years in some European nations. I think that's for artistic works and Idk if watch design counts.

  4. Trident must be a codename for mashup homages.... Christopher Ward has a Trident as well and it takes design aspects from Rolex (bezel), Omega (wave dial) and Bremont (markers, hands).

Haha both brands are also British and have similar taglines: British Heart with Swiss manufacturing/ETA movements.

They also have a Tudor bb homage... Looks to be the same one a HK seller was selling at half the price, just re branded as Trident.

  5. Lol, wait until some of the others get their teeth in, maybe they are not around atm, but a number of others will just drag any useful discussion into the abyss. Fair play to Bonesey for trying to educate, many do want to learn a few things, and even the moderator of the forum is fairly open minded and lets discussions run....but ultimately he really is just taking part in an exercise in futility... (unfortunately!)

I have noticed that as well. I think it the Daytona thread where I first saw it.

Not the phrase I would have used :whistling:;)

    :clap2:
