  1. Possibly magnetized ^. Also could be something else with the hairspring such as tangling or caught on a pin.
  2. Thanks for the info and links but I knew that from trying to find them on eBay (kept getting seeing single crowns and eventually realized why). It is why I also mentioned an internal bezel in my first post . It is an interesting read nonetheless as I never actually looked it up. EDIT: Oh, I see. Should have looked at the quoted post - I did make an incorrect statement !
  3. Aw =(. Looks like WE does not have it anymore either.
  4. Yup and not even compressor style (internal bezel) so I have no idea what I was thinking or looking at.
  5. I am also interested Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 2
  6. Used to swirl but I swing it like this now (taken from a Seiko instruction manual):
  7. So I'm sure you guys know the previous Ball reps weren't that great since they didn't have tritium vials. I recently saw an ad for these over on WUS: Chinese made, tritium vials (quality?), and affordable (1400 RMB). Seems like a Ball rep is the logical next step, seeing how this is already Ball-esque (see bracelet for example). Anyone know if any prototypes are in the works?
  8. Love his pieces; that one looks great. How did you find ine? Sent from my phone
  9. I'd recommend Mother's mag with a nice microfiber over cape cod. Cape cod cloths are nice for quick touch ups but for getting a like-new finish, it won't get you there. Too much grit so it'll leave hairline scratches. edit: ha, should've read the thread. What Jkay said .
  10. What was wrong with the previous tracking numbers? Were they just not tracking numbers at all? Seems strange that that would be the source of error.
  11. And seems my fears came true. I was told it would only take 3-4 business days and it's now 3 business days and USPS tracking doesn't even show them having the package. According to Canada Post it arrived in NY yesterday though. I'm only irked cause this method of shipping (Expedited USA, but not really. same as USPS priority) was an $18 upgrade.
  12. Eek. I am afraid of this happening with a watch I bought from Canada, even though I live just across the border.
  13. I think that describes Invicta's fan-base pretty well, although 40mm is tiny and 45mm is 'small'.
  14. well nevermind, turns out USPS was just being slow in my case. not that slow but slow :/
  15. I was still curious about the other rep offered by WE and other dealers, so I did some more searching. It looks like it was a different run or from a different factory altogether (idk how these things work still ) give all the differences. So what I found was there are several notable differences, such as the movement (still A21 but engraved differently) and caseback (6 screws). But the dial on those older reps have more inaccuracies. The printing on the dial seems more bold, and the serifs on the 1,2,4 are really fat! The seconds hand is skinnier and more tapered than the gen's, and the entire seconds subdial seems to be shifted upwards. And it had Made in Germany on the dial. I think this version is more accurate and I'm glad it came out before I found and bought an older one. But I am still wondering how come this one came about when there was already an ok rep. Is it just factories competing? This whole system is interesting and it looks like I got more reading to do .
  16. I've never had a bad experience on eBay *knock on wood* so I consider that overall lucky . Usually don't win the good deals .
  17. Something like that should be able to strap most types of straps and bracelets, nice! I personally just use a small flathead screwdriver and tape the lugs off.
  18. Wow, that's a nice looking watch, and cheaper from that dealer than others. Is it really a gen dial as advertised? Either way how is the lume? ok did some searching and saw one review. said the subdial is slightly off because of the movement choice, so a gen dial wouldn't fit. so what does asian7750 mean?
  19. Anyone ever contact these buyers after they get the item to let them know it's a rep? We would get their username when they leave feedback.
  20. Few days probably, depends how long it sits in customs. "Handed over to customs" is nothing to worry about.
  21. Got mine today . I immediately felt the rotor when the mailman handed me the package, like there was a gyroscope inside. Great rep and likely gonna be wearing it quite often.
  22. 1. Name/Model Nomos Tangomat (white dial) 2. Pic Still waiting for it! Darn you customs. 3.Why you took the plunge? No affordable Bauhaus homages, at least ones I liked. Gen is too expensive for me. 4. Would you differ if doing it again? Yes. I would not order right before a weekend and a holiday.
  23. He may be shill bidding too. If so, he could end up winning his own auction if he keeps outbidding people.
  24. Yes that is what I did . A lot of things I've received from overseas were declared for only $10-20 on the custom forms, so I had done the same for my watches that I sold on eBay. As luck would have it, the most expensive one was the one that got lost. Lesson learned, and I'll only declare full price now and ship insured or with tracking at the very least.
