Awesome piece. Never been let down by DSN. I would like to see it on a nice strap.
-
Not that I am aware. Some of those designs do look great.

What I got is the latest version from Toros .. I suggest you stick to what you have now. Maybe consider a lume job in the near future if it's really bothering you.
-
Your dial looks nicer than mine. I think you might have one of the older versions, but am not an expert on the 288s anyway wear it well!
-
Hum. Noticed that this 288's dial behaves a lot like mine so now I'm even more confused ... http://www.paneraisource.com/watch_details/Contemporary_54.html

I believe this one is same as mine.. no AR related complaints here, but I do wish the lume was a bit better... take more pictures.. perhaps with different light variations.
-
Thanks for all the information guys.. I guess you learn something everyday hehe I was not aware they had different versions of this watch. Am a bit disappointed as the quality deteriorated over time, but price climbed up.

Sorry not the best picture...

It is the A7750 model, I'll take a picture in a sec....

Hello gents, I recently purchased a Pam 288 from Toro, it is a beautiful watch but one thing in particular caught my attention. I have not handled the gen of this model but by looking at the pictures found online of both reps and gens I noticed that the chrono subdial has a more matte finish to it. The subdials on my rep are more shiny and tend to reflect light regardless of the angle. I tried to use the search option but it appears no one has addressed this issue in the past. Any input is much appreciated.

That's a beautiful piece ubi! You're just making my choice more difficult lol Ultimately it looks like AP Diver is leading at the moment

Ah, I knew I should not open this thread... sgtguk that tudor is a beautiful piece I was thinking about picking up a gen few years back when I was visiting my family in Europe... might not be able to resist the temptation again next time around Here's my wristie IWC Laureus
-
If it was up to me I would get 3-4 then decide which I like most. It's a hard choice... I'm assuming when you say 'the best sub' you are referring to PAM 243

Hey guys I am not too much into divers/sport watches and prefer going for the more dressy look, but I would like to add one to my collection. I can only buy one (or my better half will kill me) as I already have too many watches. I'm looking for accuracy and versatility. I'll get the one that receives most votes and I promise to write a detailed pictorial review. Any input will be much appreciated!

Here's my 288 , I think the gen has matte subdials and this one reflects light like crazy but I still love it.

This particular seller is liquidating what appear to be 'large century old IWC wrist watches' typically for under $1000 with completely bogus movements. He has over 3000 feedback comments... how is he getting away with it? Enjoy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-RARE-1892-IWC-INTERNATIONAL-WATCH-Co-SCHAFFHAUSEN-Vintage-Watch-CALIBER-52-/360610081461?pt=Pocket_Watches&hash=item53f6092ab5

Nice watch, I currently dont own any white dial watches.. time to do something about it soon
-
Love the dial I wish the rep was more spot on

Stumbled across this while surfing the net for new straps. It was posted in mid 2012 but I am not sure which version he is comparing it to does not look like the n or h to me. http://www.hellopanerai.net/blog/replica-panerai-luminor-submersible-pam-243-vs-genuine-one.html
-
380 was in stainless steel .. there are some gold rads but im pretty sure its other models
-
It's a biased comparison. Truth is the shape of H case set for 292 is pretty much spot on, so is the ceramic color and the dial is actually better. Of course the crown is smaller... it's a rep of the more recent pam292. I feel that the pig on Noob is unacceptable considering the watch is over $400 with shipping. In the end you have to decide whether you want a ceramic or pvd crown

Pam 26k - should I go for noob or h-factory?
BeefSteak replied to spikeout2's topic in The Panerai Area
i suggest going to the pam reference guide on rwi, but in most cases noob is the way to go. -
I would leave it alone too, but if it really bothers you then I suggest having it looked at whenever you decide to get your watch serviced... let's say 6 months down the road.

It's just a $300 rep it's okay
