Why aren't you just buying a gen dial on ebay for less than $100 ??
Penny just dropped for me on this JKay...i think you are spot on...this is probably the best way to go... although at the moment...there aren't any under £300 on ebay, unless of course you fancy having your gonads squeezed by the ebay seller going by the name "threegoldbrothers"

I'm getting a bit frustrated now,,,,, spent alot of time searching thru all the TD'd FM's and can't seem to find a quality crazy hours in the higher end range (dont want jumbo ,diamonds or color dreams)
I'd quite happily settle for the one in Jkays pic (wanna sell it JKay? )and add the croc strap but im told by two TD's that they aren't made anymore... Iv'e seen a couple on other non TD sites but they are probably scammers.
Doesn't any of these guys make FM's to custom specs ?

All TDs have access to the same inventory. I would contact a few different TDs to get a quote on the watch you are interested in, and research if there have been issues reported for the TD you select prior to placing the order.
As for the crazy hours I've also been looking for the Jumbo version (with the Curvex case) but have been unable to find one with the correct numerals. All the models available come with the incorrect Long Island numerals (not the color, but the shape of the numbers). This image was provided by Guanaco at RWI.
Ok will do.... thanks...
Re incorrect numbers, are you saying it's impossible to source a crazy numbers watch that has the correct font?

Don't buy a rep that doesn't do justice to what you feel for her

You are of course right.. however if us guys are honest we would prefer our women to be just like our watches....look fantastic ...but don't cost alot...

Note: Crazy Hours only come with A21j movements .. that's why they are 80-100 dollars.
Got to admit, the low cost of the Crazy Hours actually puts me off buying it, although as i can't see how the case and dial etc can be
up to much at that price...
Are there still no Crazy hours in the high end range that are closer to the gen on outside? (im not particuarily bothered about the interior )

When I was researching Franck Muller watches I read about a Conquistador rep (not the Conquistador Cortez) that was available in 2006 or 2007 that was extremely close to the gen. Even the movement was the same due to the movements used by Franck Muller at the time. I think I read it on RG but since it's down I couldn't look it up.
Now the FM Conquistador Cortez that is currently available also has stellar reviews. A member purchased a gen after owning the rep and said amazing things about the quality of the rep (also on RG). If you're looking for accuracy stay away from the white dial with black numbers as that is a fantasy model.
This sounds interesting...good info thanks,...I'm in the market for a high end FM, was your friends dealer a TD on here?
Toad did a fantastic review on the crazy hours back in 2008... this is one stunning style of watch, would appreciate being pointed in the right direction for
one of these too...

i actually bought my wife a gen Tag F1 w/a buncha diamonds on white strap once
... she hated it so I got rid of it
instead I used the cash to buy her a box full of ladies reps
and she rocks them every day
it's not what you get, but how you present it that matters
Nice one...sounds like my kinda woman ...
-
Good points on both sides.... i suppose it depends on the lady in question.... for instance my missus wouldn't dream of going in to an AD's to get the watch repaired/new battery.... she would always , like most things...get me to do it everytime....lol.
As far as the guilt factor goes...well, iv'e been married 20 years... nuff said...
As Gavilan says.. as long as it looks good on the outside... then happy days...
I'm happy to pay high end for quality.. question is are there any about?...Most iv'e seen are $170-$300 tops...

Whadathafook!... all i know is that i saw a £4k price tag out of the corner of my eye while i was dragging her away from the jewellers window....
all the while with her mumbling something about 40 being some sort of "birthday milestone" or some such crap....
I'm thinking... nice rep + nice box.... = mucho brownie points and perhaps even a litlle rumpity tumpity.....
The downside of this brave idea is that if she ever finds out ...she will peel my gonads with a rusty penknife....
Whadyathink? 1:1 rep do-able? or dangerous game?

delete. .wrong section.... plonker...

iv'e had a Rado on my wrist for 23 yrs... i love it more than i do my wife....which isn't that hard.................. however.... it's had more parts replaced over the years than Maddona.....
which means........... after a real close look............it looks a little bit dodgy....

As another year has gone by i thought i'd bump this... interested to hear if this model is still being offered by TD's here and if so who?
