  1. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery for all those affected by the hurricanes. Hang in there Savage.
  2. I knew the minute I saw it I had to have one. These are limited production and hand made. Very nice. I love it. Just have the one picture of mine. Haven't had a chance to take more: Here are the stock photos: http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/zeugmastraps/SAVARONA%20STRAP%20CASE/savaronastrapcase.jpg> http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u79/zeugmastraps/SAVARONA%20STRAP%20CASE/savaronastrapcase2.jpg> Price was $278 shipped.
  3. Inspired by a Landa strap:
  4. Completely amazing.
  5. Sick. If ever you would consider doing it, it would be amazing if you did a small DIY/how to walk through with some pictures and explanation.
  6. I've been meaning to post this for a while. It's a first attempt. I may play around with some other finishes and techniques on this one if I ever get a chance.
  7. The tobacco is really, really, really nice.
  8. How do you tell a "rep" IWC FA Jones movement from a genuine one? Is that for a "rep" movement or a genuine movement? How does it compare in quality and accuracy to Cortebert, Hamilton, Unitas, etc.?
  9. Check out this link for pictures of the Hamilton movements: http://people.timezone.com/pauld/tzpics/damasc1.html Here is a 921 based rad watch: http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.ph...121272#poststop Inside that one a guy posted his 917 based watch. Here is the picture of the 921 with blued screws and regulator: Vaccum has made a number of homage watches with 921 movement. Here is Flavorflav's picture. What movement is this? 921 is a size 10
  10. A friend sent me an official NFL football he had with the request to make a similar strap to my last one. I was finally able to complete it and this is what it looks like: From RED12 Watch Straps There is a link to more pictures of this strap at the bottom of the picture if you are interested ^ What do you think? I am liking it. I really need to get around to making myself one. I also have a baseball glove that I dismantled sitting in my box since forever ago. Oh well, all in good time I guess. I posted the last one here as well, but here it is again if you are interested: From RED12 Watch Straps
  11. The 917 is even larger isn't it? A bit more affordable. I have seen one guy put that into a 45mm rad watch.
  12. It's a little sad, but I love base dials. I am going to hold on to the pocket watch parts and if I ever sell the watch, I will likely include them with it.
  13. I picked up this vintage Hamilton pocket watch. It's a very nice vintage piece with a great movement that is keeping good time. It's a shame to disassemble it but such is life. I plan to put it into this nice white dialed Panerai homage watch I have. I am also hoping to blue the screws and swan neck. I saw a DIY posted somewhere and I was inspired.
  14. I have seen correct vintage thickness case backs before. I am looking for 45 rad or 47mm luminor case backs that have no branding on them. Does this exist?
  15. Here are some previous combos I have tried: I also use a Watchadoo regularly but don't have any pictures.
  16. I am intrigued. Do you have some pics that you can share?
  17. Here's Rolex pocket watch with a swan neck movement. Priced at $1,000 BIN: http://cgi.ebay.com/RARE-ROLEX-CHRONOMETRE...Q2em118Q2el1247
  18. I guess it could be rare. Still my guess is that it is worth around $1,000 for the movement. Then you have cost of servicing. Add in a healthy amount for box and strap, and you have the start of a really nice watch. The problem is who knows if this is a quality case, or if the dial and hands are quality. He could have just bought a low end fake. Regardless I would be very surprised if it sells for anything close to $5K. The least he could have done was source a period correct, thick case back or at least a sterile one. A hand filed case back does not belong on this watch.

  20. http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tre...38796&rid=0 How much do these Rolex movements cost anyway?
  21. It's funny, I can't see where it says Rolex on the movement... Could just be an $80 Cortbert movement.
  22. I'd love to see pictures of your gold PAMs
  23. I am looking at some options for interesting movements. Looking for either a Cortbert or a Hamilton 921. I just need any info about the cal. on the Cortbert, and if these movements are drop in replacements.
  24. And what about this PVD fiddy for $1,900? http://cgi.ebay.com/47mm-Marina-Militare-H...1QQcmdZViewItem
  25. Take a look: http://cgi.ebay.com/Orologio-47-mm-Homage-...1QQcmdZViewItem What do you think?
