You won't find one with a genuine ETA movement in from any seller. The ones you see advertised are lies. You are better getting one with an Asian clone of 7753 and sourcing a genuine ETA 7753 separately and having it installed.
One thing to keep in mind is the hand sizes between Swiss and Asian 775X movements are slightly different so might need some tweaking to work. Unless you can source some gen hands.

I think A7750 gets a kicking when it doesn't deserve it. In the standard configuration they are reasonably reliable in my experience. A service will help this.
-
ETA 7753 is £700 from cousins. A7753 is £100.
But I haven't heard good things about new Chinese 775X movements.

I love my ray bans. A member of RWI sells them for a decent price.
-
Looks a great Rolex mate. I would accept.
-
They are 0.9mm. The other standard seems to be 1.2mm I think. That is what come standard with my new ETA 7750s

Hope I'm not thread bombing mate, my apologies if I am, I too am currently building two DW cased 7750 powered 6263's, running into a problem finding the right winding stem for a 7750 being that there is different "taps".. Anyone have some pointers?

You will need a tap 9 for a gen crown.

Thank you. It's a shame it's just a bit too far for me to get to in time after finishing work.

I'm a very young 46 I do a evening class once a week. 3hrs per week.
Yes I work full time. I am very lucky there is a unique training centre around 45 minute drive from where I live. My tutor is a excellent watchmaker who teaches all the old watchmaking skills and encourages us to practice the technician skills (modern movement servicing) in out own time.
There is a formal qualification available to us but I am in no rush to follow that path yet, I'm having far too much fun
Where exactly is the place you do the course? I was looking for something like this before. Just for fun rather than a career change.

Franken TAG

Thanks, How did you identify the right crown?
I have bought lots of gen TAG parts from a seller on eBay based in Malaysia.
He can be a bit slow to reply to messages at time but is a great guy. Or you can get a crown from cousins, but it is difficult to figure out what is correct.
Send a picture of your crown to the guy on ebay.
My franken says hi.
-
Not to be rude but I wouldn't want to wear a used leather strap. A new clean one would be much better. Even if it's not croc.
If it's gen a new tag one will set it off. It's worth the cash.
-
It depends on what dial. There are considered 5 dial variations from different time periods and they go for varying amounts of money. The 5th gen superlumed one being the cheapest.
-
Might just buy a rep and Franken it.

I don't think they will to protect the price of their current sub. If they bought out a larger one people would probably buy that over the 40mm. Guys would be selling their 40mm to get the bigger one.
How many years have people been shouting for this and a bigger daytona. Then at basel they bring out a platinum ugly as sin daytona. Just what everyone wanted. You have the DSSD. That was basically their answer to a larger sub.

Great work. I thought at first maybe you modded a yuki like before. Gen crystal and bezel stand out a mile. I'm jealous.
-
Go for a yuki 3135. A decent service will sort it out.
-
I have seen this on a MacBook Pro before. The problem is it can bend the aluminium case and damage the motherboard. Hopefully Micky caught it before it's done any terminal damage.

I am building the exact same thing.
Just waiting to get a gen crystal to get rid of the HUGE LEC. I am also going to put a WSO bezel on it. I have the slim bezel but the text on it wanders off straight.
Its a poor picture but you can see the tachy scale moves away from the centre and there is a big gap near the 60.

I would be surprised if the 2 case were different, i don't see any reason why they would be... but this is china manufacturing we are talking about, no guarantee that 2 things come out the same..
But it should just be the dial/movement spacer that need be correct to suit the new movement, i understand that the gen dial locating lugs may need to be removed as they do not match with some movements(unless gen also)
I'm just stockpiling the required parts now, as i have spoken with someone who has experience with franken PO's and they are happy to carry out the work.
So my main issue now is which movement to get, and from where....
2892 will have the correct dial feet position and diameter to fit a 2824 spacer. It's the dial spacer I think that might be tricky.

Need sec @ 6 module for daytona.

A comment has been made on one of the other forums in response to my post, that the actual cases might different from the V5 4813(that i have) to the V5 2824, and that this may cause me problems...
I would also like to know this. I got a 2824 movement spacer for mine (4813 based V5). I can't see them making two different cases myself. I think it is just different size movement/dial spacers.
I would also like to know if you need to do anything special to fit a 2892 in there. I know pugwash did it, but the thread is lacking any details and he hasn't replied to my PM. I think he's busy with work and doesn't have much time to spend on the boards.
I asked the same question on RWI and didn't really get an answer.

I looked at building one of these. Getting a mid case for a reasonable price and a movement that doesn't need a complete service is pretty difficult. This looks great though. Enjoy it. If you ever want to sell it let me know. ______________ Need sec @ 6 module for daytona. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php?t=165206

TUDOR Black Bay PEARL problem
in The Rolex Area
Posted
Oddly it's always annoyed me how the red black bay has creamy lume on dial and hands an a perfectly white pearl. It could do with being the other way around.
