Nothing should be vertical except for an engraved model/serial - M and V in a 16610. Some say late Z also had engravings but again vertical. One of the only downfalls of the TC and that it doesn't accept a Gen 93250. Get a Sean and polish it, becomes near Gen.
Ive looked... nothing that shows a D serial specifically. It must vary through the years. There are pictures but none that show how high the crystal is because it looks different from each angle.
The reason I ask is that the bezel on my all gen (with a Sean case) rotates without a tension ring inside it but it raises the crystal a fair bit. Not sure whats correct! Sitting flush and not rotating or sitting higher and rotating.
I think the retaining ring is aftermarket.
These are the only reference pics I have.
Is the crystal on mine (bottom pic) too high??
Hey guys,
How high does the crystal sit above the bezel on a D serial (2005/2006) Submariner?
Anyone have any pics of a gen and how high or flush the crystal sits?
Thanks!!
The Sean has the closest rehaut to genuine.
Even the TC rehaut is wrong for a non-engraved rehaut sub. it is too vertical and not angled enough for anything other than a M or V serial.
Cheers!
Regardless of what Rolex do people will still buy them and they will still be popular. The style doesnt completely deviate from previous models. Im sure people would have had similar conversations from 1680 -> 16800. As ubiquitous mentioned its an evolution, no one can stop it!
