  1. Hmmm - is it a bad pic or has the wavy dial gone. Also, that pearl looks a little shabbily fitted - bringing it closer to the look of the pearl in the new SMP chrono, ironically....
  2. Been looking at the dealer pics again - IMO the movement (or at least the datewheel) in this watch is a straight lift from the one used in the TAG Link Chrono. I have had it confirmed by my watchmaker that it is a printing issue and not a flaw with the movement itself!
  3. Am I the only person who finds that question rather sad and missing the point completely?!
  4. Are we sure we want to be scrapping the Loony Bin?!
  5. Looks like they shut up shop early....
  6. Perfect example of how a great rep can be very hard to spot... Link Giveaways are the '300m' on the caseback and the too small/italicised depth print on dial! I know the reps are now ultra rare but this is going at genuine prices!!
  7. The crown on the pic of the blue faced model shown above is correct for a gen, and the replica crown is an exceptionally good imitation in this case.
  8. Grey, without a doubt. At the risk of offending those who bought them the blue looks a bit too flashy and downmarket IMO. I was one of the first on the bandwagon with one of these, and it is still my favourite chrono!
  9. Strange, but the pearl on yours doesn't look as authentic as the ones featured in the dealer pics.
  10. Or perhaps the factory is watermarking the pics for their clients. All part of the service?!
  11. No mystery for me. Something to do with time zones actually.....
  12. How could such a list fail to mention... IWC Gst Chrono in Ti (the PugWatch) Breitling Seawolf Ti ????
  13. Yup. That and a slightly oversized pearl and a misalignment of the bezel insert (which certain dealers will rectify for you before shiping ) I'm another one who regrets not buying a '2892' SMP at the time, although it has since transpired the movement within wasn't in fact a 2892 but a Seagull ST-18. Still a very worthy and desirable piece though!
  14. We should move with the times and replace it with an eco-friendly recycle plant. Perfect for those 'Who has the best sub' and 'What do you think of the 5th Gen PO' threads...
  15. Bought my tickets a week ago!! Did you manage to catch them filming down your neck of the woods back in February?
  16. ....in the middle of the night...., unexpectedly.....
  17. I've usually bought a watch on the strength of what I see as being accurate and appropriate for my wants at the time, and then read a review of it because it was an excellent rep. An example being the TAG Link Chrono which I was the first customer to post about in these forums, having bought it less than 30 minutes after TTK advertised it! Likewise I decided to track myself down a Breitling Seawolf Ti and within a day of doing so the buyers' guide appears listing it as top Breitling rep!
  18. Seawolf in Titanium, with modifications.
  19. Black bezel, rubber strap please (tum tee tum...)
  20. My advice is buy the 7750 version and buy from one of our dealers who has good customer relations (ie. all of them to a greater or lesser degree). If the new Asia 7750 movements do develop problems they are usually relatively easy to repair, nothing like the disasters of old. The movements themselves are far superior quality to their predecessors and in reality are hardly less reliable than their Swiss equivalents (do a quick search for 7750 reliability on the 'net and you will see how many owners of genuine watches powered by ETA 7750s have experienced problems, and have paid AD prices to have them rectified....) If you are really concerned then start looking for an honest and reliable watchmaker in your locale. If you are going to take this hobby seriously then you will need their services at one point or another!!
  21. This fix won't last. I know from experience. The spring is weak and will loosen in time. Good news is a genuine one will fit. Cousins UK stocks them, but since they changed their website design I haven't been able to find it in their inventory.
  22. Yup, I spotted it too! Don't worry about id'ing the model though as the episode will be repeated on Sunday, and shown on the hour every hour on BBCs 3 and 4...
