The bracelet should fit. The most you may have to do is change the end links.
In fact any Seamaster Pro bracelet of the same design (9-piece link) and the same width (ie. not midsize one) should fit if you swap the endlinks as AFAIK that is the only difference between these bracelets as specified for different case references. The Chrono case is thicker.
Woulnd't touch fake sunglasses with a bargepole. They are a safety and health related item, and I really don't trust replica sunglasses' ability to filter UV properly.
Cateracts - no thanks!
PS. This thread is off topic.
Well, this thread proves it is true what they say that you never forget your first....
More contributions welcome. Reminder of the rules...
1. First post-enlightenment rep?
2. Dealer?
3. Do you still own and wear it?
The pre-enlightenment horror stories are good too.
If you have or can track down one of the SMP reps from 12-18 months ago you'll have what you need. The end links will need to be swapped over though to accomodate the deeper case on the chrono.
This rep is making me appreciate my old standard SMP even more. I'm wondering if the bezel inserts are available as spares...
All the reminiscing going on in this thread got me thinking about the following little survey.
Answer the following questions and join in...
1 - First rep bought after joining rep forum (RWGI/II, TRC etc.)?
2 - Dealer purchased from?
3 - Do you still have/wear said rep?
I'll kick it off.
1. Omega blue SMP (the good one)
2. Paul (when he was still Abay)
3. Damn yes/yes.
It is probably the only giveaway that this is not genuine ie. the screws in the bracelet. Combine this with the bracelet from the previous generation superior SMPs with the pin-and-tube links and you've got arguably the most accurate rep watch ever.
As I said - what difference does it make, unless you were daft enough to pony up the extra for it. All it amounts to is a piece of perforated and etched tin plate and a purple sticker. Well worth the additional $20?!
What difference would it make if it did look like that (unless you paid the extra for some dressing on a movement that takes it no closer to being correct)?
As a selling feature I find this 'original style' movement a bit of sneaky marketing to ensnare the ignorant. Its like paying extra for a fibreglass bodykit on a Ferrari replica.
