  1. jack,

The seller is correct in what he says about date change, I have some that take up to 3 hours to complete the change.

Most change over at about 1/2 hour period over 12, but it really depends on the movement/watch.

What I would do, is to ask for a photo of the watch with the date centered.

Absolutely correct. The day is not a quickset on my gen day/date.

  2. Ok just ordered the kevlar strap too!

I wasnt so sure about it at first after looking at the photos they have on their ad... but after seeing your shots im sold!

I was tossing up between this and hte G10 NATO strap in black.

    Cant wait til it arrives!

Anyone know where to get a good IWC rep deployment clasp in 18mm?

Check with Jay at Silix. I ordered my 3717 with deployant frm him. Here's a pic. The kevlar strap does look real good. I might have to get one from TWB.

  3. I was browsing Silix tonight, and there are two reps I'm interested in. The first is the Rolex Thunderbird (ROLS136) and the second is the Rolex Chronograph (ROLS074). Does anybody have any experience with these two? I've never seen them before. I dig the numerals on the t-bird and the hands on the chronograph model are pretty cool. Are these real models? I'm obviously new to Rolex...

That is not a Rolex Thunderbird... Don't know why it's labeled as such. Below is a picture of my Gen Rolex Thunderbird. It's a datejust with a white gold turnograph bezel. The turnograph bezel is what makes it the Thunderbird. It was named as such because the USAF awarded Thunderbird pilots with this particular style of watch. I just wanted to help you with a little bit of Rolex history. :)
