  1. It could be the 113 that ruby used to sell. Hers came with a polished cg though.I got one from her back when I first got into reps 5+ yrs ago. The reason I think it might be from her is mine has a super clear crystal with a pinkish hue and yours looks like it does also. It also had the correct L SWISS MADE L at the bottom.

  2. It's taking alittle longer than expected because of the curves and thickness. No worries as it can and is being done as they have my OEM 212/253 crystal to go by. It's just not as quick as our flat 44mm Luminor crystals took. They will be 100% exact in everyway, including A/R when they are done. It makes such a huge difference, you cannot even describe or see it in a picture, as so many have tried to do. The only way is to see it in person, or compare a rep 253 to a friends gen 253 side by side, but in person.

  3. That gen pic is too over-exposed to tell whether the color of the blue chrono hand matches the rep. But I am not sure it does. I will be very very impressed if it does. Also, the hob nail texture on the rep dial is not pronounced enough and hard to see (or maybe its just the pics). On the gen, the hob nail texture is very apparent at all angles. I am not saying this is a bad rep but those would be my concerns if I were to get one.

I've got a Gen 253 Blue Hand that I have been saving to install on this watch. It took forever and was just by luck that I was able to get it. Still haven't got a gen dial yet and that probabaly won't come along. Anyway when my new 253 gets here I'll let you know how close it is. In pics, it's so hard to tell the shade of things. But no matter what it's 1000% better than previous blue hands, which was a total joke IMHO.

  4. Hello everyone, I'm Crown's partner in these Swiss Corundrum projects. That is my Franken 212 in the pic's that will be disassembled to use my OEM crystal for the mold. Anyone who need's to get a hold of me can not only pm me, but certainly feel free to e-mail me at pegram@carolina.rr.com. Shipping rates are: USPS PRIORITY $8.00

    USPS EXPRESS $22.00

    USPS EXPRESS INTERNATIONAL $32.00

If you have any questions, please don't hesistate to e-mail or pm me.

  5. I've got a gen Pam sapphire on my Franken 212, you would not believe the difference it makes.I'll see if I can find the original rep crystal and I will be glad to let it be used in order to make some real sapphire crystal's, as I going to need 1 for my Franken 253 project, which I'm getting ready to start. If someone will send me a pm tommorrow,I'll let you know if I found it,and you can tell me where to send it to.

  6. Great job on the 212!!!

I'll post pics of the Franken 212 I've been building. Old Cartel case, Swiss 7750, Gen Sapphire, Gen Dial, Gen hands, Gen bezel,Gen CG,Gen Rotor, and Gen Coramid strap with Gen deployment. The old case fits everything better than the newer case that I aquired, althought the caseback is more correct on the newer version. The Gen sapphire and Gen CG made the most difference in the watch.

Next I'm starting on a Franken 253 as I have aquired a Gen Blue Chrono hand. That is nowhere close to the color of blue on the reps. The gen blue really pops.

Special thanks to all the members who have helped me with aquiring these parts!!!!

  7. If it were Tritium, the dial would glow the same amount constantly.

I have had the pleasure/displeasure of holding this watch. The printing quality on the dial is poor.

The hands are DEFINITELY luminova and probably not OEM.

Big-E, I think you should remove the dial and show the thickness and the back of the dial.

    :clapping:

Anyone else have any opinions? I'm definitely not an expert and really would like to here from our most knowledgable members and here what they have to say.

  8. My Orange UPO has the same problem. Can anyone help us out?

    Hi all,

I have been really happy with my Omega Seamaster (orange bezel).

Its a replica where the crown-tube is now broken off inside the crown. I therefore

need a new crown incl. the crown tube/pipe.

My local watch repair man, cannot get the right size from Omega or other manufacturer.

    Apparantly the size is non-standard.

Any idears/suggestions for this is most welcome. I dont want to return

the watch to china, due to shipping price (and the customs are likely to confiscate the return package)

    Thanks in advance

    Mike

  9. I think I'll do that and post the pics. Will that help determine gen proto or repainted rep?

Thanks for all your input, especially you Big Crown!!!

  10. Hey fellow RWG members,

I bought this watch from a well-respected member of this forum and RepGeek. I was told the dial, hands and scratched crystal were genuine. I was told that the dial and hands were genuine Trtium. I was also told that the dial was a rare 'Prototype' dial. Like most fish stories this one came with a story about being sold out the back door of a Panerai Service Center.

Please give me your 2 cents with regards to the dial, crystal and hands.

  11. Ya, someone was kind enough to PM me a source for a white faced PAM00051 which looks really nice and is cheap, but I'd rather have a black face if I had the choice.

I wonder if anyone has experience with those 241's that watcheden has? I've seen them a couple places but for some reason it looks kind of cheap to me. I know it's not a real expensive rep, and maybe it just looks that way in the pictures.

Here is the link to the one at Replica-Time. It looks like a beautiful watch, but it's pretty expensive to take a shot on a new vendor.

    Thanks again for everybody's help!

Can someone pm me where to get a Pam 051 or at least some black hands for a 40mm? I'm trying to build a franken white dial Pam for my wife, but may just have to buy a cheap one just to get the hands. If I can get my wife into this watch thing it will make it easier on me!!!! :)
