Fleed,
This is a beautiful watch, but one thing I don't understand is why everyone wants to mar the plexiglas crystals on their vintage watches. Polishing the crystal is very easy, and I keep the plexiglas crystals nicely polished on my genuine vintage watches regardless of how badly the cases get nicked/scratched up or how much patina the dials have.
well, you are absolutely right...there is no reason for that kind of mod.
maybe i'm to nostalgic and like it to look more "rugged".
like you allready said, plexiglas can be polished easy.

is the writing on the back-case etched? or engraved?
Also, the original movement should be a slow beat movement (565), so more accurate to put in a 2846 instead.
Looks great though!
the writting is not etched, it's like the genuine one.

thank you guys for your positive feedback!
@murph;
what a beauty you have there...awesome mods!!
it's funny,...i did not realize the gen has a white second hand, thank you for pointing it out, i will paint mine to.
how did you manage it to shape the case, it looks great!
thanks again for the input, i really apreciate it!

hello RWG
i would like to share my seamaster 300.
after receiving it from toro bravo decided to do some "vintage work"...
the mods done are;
-full dial & hands relume
-dissembled the case, gave it some sligthly hits with a small hammer, scratched it, than bead blasted and finally polished it
-dipped a paper in acetone and "rubbed" slightly the acrylic glas
-replaced the stock caseback-gasket by a larger one
-lubed all gaskets
-reglued the bezelinsert with epoxy
-rubbed the bezelinsert with carpolish
-nato-strap
-pressure test 6atm
the eta movement is keeping great time.
how are yours experiences with this models (is there anyone with the same model)?
any constructive feedback is wellcome. : )
thank you for watching

What do you think about the crystal (and the mag)? Of course the cost is a big issue, so do you think replacing the crystal with gen worth the money?
well, i think the clark crystal is perfect...i would only mod the bezel-insert and pearl.
this watch feels gen-like.

thank you all for your positive feedbacks.
update: watch passed today the 8atm pressure-test.

hi all
Last week i received my new Aquaracer (from Toro Bravo).
After wearing it during the first night i decided to spend it some decent lume...
this watch is really well made and the eta-movement keeps great time.
thank you Toro Bravo!
cheers

Congratulations fleed and thanks for the brilliant pictures. What are your overall thoughts on the watch? I think the bezel insert is the easiest fix for the BK/WM9 sub...... Enjoy your beauty.....
thank you!
well probably the only "fixes" i would do are;
pearl and insert swap.
this watch feels gen-like.
best rep out there.

hello RWG!
i would like to share with you some pictures of BK's new submariner...maybe they are helpull
for those members who are looking for one.
thank you for watching.
fleed
there are some members having toughts/concerns about the BK bezel-pearl,
i think, it's not a big deal (you can replace it by a watchmaterial pearl or mod it yourself by using the epoxy mod)
i decided to mod it to show the full "potential" of this great watch.
here some pics of the same watch with modified bezel pearl
at least:
BK is the real deal...great service and awesome watches!
thank you BK!

Thanks
Do you know where I can get a new bezel and do I need any specific tools to do the job?
i'm sorry, i no idea where you can get a spare bezel.
there are special bezel removing tools...but you can also use a watchmaker knife.

Guys
I need your help. I have managed to scratch the bezel on my SFSO really badly. I am a novice when it comes to watch repairs and I want to know where I can buy a new bezel, how much it should cost and how difficult it is to replace the bezel complete. Thanks for your help.
Rob
it's not easy to remove the SFSO bezel
once removed, you have to repair or replace the retainerspring because it will deform during the bezel removal
on this image you can clearly see the retainerspring
kind regards

hi
i relumed my asian steelfish myself and now i'm thinking about relume my black swiss sosf but im not sure if it's really worth the effort, since the stock lume is pretty good applied on mine.
if you wish to get a good result, it is important to remove the old lume first.
hands of the steelfish are very delicate, so you have to be carefull to not scratch the chrome.
anyway...it will hardly look like the original aplied lume, so it's a personal decision to relume or not.
white asian with noctilumina
black swiss with stock lume
stock lume vs upgradet lume
kind regards

What kind of Skyland is that???
It looks brushed or perhaps matt.
I don't see the bling steel.
Anyway, glad to hear the good feedback, I'm waiting on mine from Peter.
uff...i forgot to mention that i have bead blasted the case to get a matte finish.
this is how the watch looks original (like you said; bling steel).

hi all...it's me...fleed from spain.
i know, i'm not a very active posting member here...i'm more lurking around here.
this time i would like to share some pictures of my skyland i got from peter.
the general finish of this watch is very good and the asian 7750 seems to be in
good health keeping great time.
after greasing all gaskets i decided to do a pressure test up to 8atm which the watch has passed.
i only can recomend you this watch.
thank you for watching and kind regards from spain

IIRC, he got the green insert off ebay. There always seems to be plenty of aftermarket inserts in black, orange, green and blue there. I'm not sure about the pearl quality though.
many thanks!
-
Get with member triplehd, he found a 42mm green insert.
thank you lord!
-
Definitely interesting. Someone recently found a green insert, so grey might be possible.
does you know, who's selling the green inserts?
thank you
