@Mike@tommys .. Thank you
Your most welcome. looks just how a watch of that vintage should look.

Beautiful.

If the insert isn't broken you can glue it back on with some gs hypo cement.use only a few small drops on the outer edge of the bezel and keep glue away from crystal or you run the risk of glueing the bezel to the crystal which will make it hard to turn.don't use super glue as this will bugger your watch .contact glue will also work.hope this helps mate

Pick up a tube of metal polish from your local auto shop.the stuff you would use for chrome etc.works a treat
-
You could also go to the parnis watch site.they sell ceramic inserts for $25 including shipping.I'm told the noob reps use these inserts in their watch builds.Trevor can also supply them

Asian7750@hotmail.com this is where I have contacted him in the recent past.

Looking closer at the photos you can see what might be glue at the bottom of the pearl and to the top left of the triangle.could well be after market insert.
-
Looks gen to me.nice sel fit too

A good remedy is to put the strap in a bag of baking soda.leave it there for a day Or so and it soaks out that shitty smell.worked for me and is especially good with leather
-
Customs would still say if they had confiscated it.maybe you should contact them to confirm.I can't see them sending you an empty box with no explanation .I feel for you mate but I would contact customs to put my mind at ease.when I send stuff I put watch for repair or repaired watch on the customs dec.they xray it so no point saying it's not a watch .got this tip of a us seller after I got caught out once and have had no prob since.I hope you guys can sought this out
-
If customs had taken it they would have put a note in the box saying that.its happened to me .if they thought it was gen they would have their hand out for the money, as there would be no reason to assume it as fake?

That will get more members fer sure!
Good call kb.

I asked Ryan at in time watches and he said they are not going anywhere.

He's a snob alright.I avoid him when I go in to look at the new models.I meet Grant twice, and both times he had his head up his ass.
We all know he inherited the business.
I used to deal with About Time in the 90s there in Newmarket, they were excellent, got my first Rolex there, a gmt master.
-
Yeh, he's been around a while in NZ, I remember him around in 2003-2004. Sells a bit of Rolex etc...Never buy of partridges , he's a [censored]. Lol
Can't disagree there. Bloody burglar.only place near me to drool over new rolys ,briets etc though lol
-
I live in new Zealand where this site is located, and can verify this guy is legit.his feed back is fine.all the watches can be verified at partridge jewllers who are one of a tiny group of ADs in our small country.it's just not worth trying to pass of fakes as gens here.happy to contact the seller for you if you want more info
-
He will probably send a replacement insert and the old one is easy to remove.heat it up with a hair dryer and lift it up with a paper clip or similar from the pearl hole.use hypo cement to glue the new one in ,don't use super glue as if it happens again it will never come of.I've just gone down this road myself and it's a pain in the [censored].If he offers to send one ask for two incase it happens again
-
Yea I think this the new BP version, that pearl looks great.very nice!!
-
My first rep big bang chukka ,so I'm yes for this.great idea GM!
-
Got it now.smooth sweep,it looks good to me but I'm no expert.is that a bit of AR on the cyclops?
