  1. First off, i'm glad to be back, the economy did not treat me well and so my watch addiction suffered, but i'm bouncing back and glad to see familiar names still here.

With that said, last week a good friend was hitched and for his honeymoon took a cruise and begged to borrow my 1665 vintage from Josh, well I couldn't say No.

Watch came back working fine except the date wheel is off by a lot and quickset date change no longer works. Although I can adjust the time past midnight and the datewheel moves but not alligned.

I think i read an article about this same issue years back but not even sure how to search for it this time around, any help is gladly appreciated.

  2. So my GMT Master too had an accident, not sure when it happened but i was out and about and well got home and realized the crystal had fallen off !

You can imagine my surrise but the glue residue that holds the crystal in place is still their in some spots.

So my question(s) are as follows:

    1. Can I get a Clarks crystal to replace, and if so wich one?

    2. I accidentally put a small smudge on the dial near the 6 o'clock marker how would i remove it.

    3. How feasable is it for me to glue the crystal back in place? ( I have tools to clean up old glue residue and take apart watch if need be)

Thanks for any input you may have!

  3. Several months ago I stumbled on a post about a better or Ultimate version of the white dial/blue marker Broad arrow with the correct spacing 7750.

Has anything been mentioned? I would really like to see that watch made as it would also share parts for a correct moonwatch and we already got the UPO with the right spacing we are just having the usual sunken date wheel but that wouldn't be an issue with the broadarrow and specially the moonwatch.

  4. I realize this is a noob question and I have been here long enough to maybe not be tagged as one, but in any case just bought a PO from Narikaa shipped from the far east...any estimate on when to expect it? it was shipped Thai airmail to Fl?

Thanks in advance gentlemen and have a wonder full weekend!

  5. Speaking of customs my brother was in Costa Rica about 2 years ago and he had 4 bottles of Havana Club he purchased (not the bacardi crap, the real deal) turns out he was talking about it on the flight back to the states among friends who traveled with him...Well long story short, turns out someone on the plane snitched him out and every last bottle was seized over at MIA.

Good thing I was there last year and brought some back with any problems.

  6. I would guess ebay has some system to check for reported items, maybe they simply email the seller to provide some proof as in receipts or Serial #'s.

But in all buying any item over a few hundred dollars from an online auction site should always be considered as "Buy at your own risk" I don't care if it's a big company like ebay or the many other knock-offs.

  7. The experts have chimed in, and I thank them all.

But not that it matters to me personally, I only imagine that after the great lengths some members go to in order to make their replica watches (mainly Rolex watches) I think it makes sense to feel the same passion for the internal mods.

Lets face it, no one can spot the minimalistic details we worry soo much about, yet we correct them and the same applies for the movement in all honesty.

I'm sure there is money to be made, otherwise it wouldn't have been done.

  8. My aquaracer's crown slips when I try to wind it. I know we have had issues with the A7750b and the winding mechanism.

I opened it up and after removing the rotor I notice the crown occasionally catches and winds a few times then slips again.

Would this be a simple fix or something best left for a watchsmith?

  9. So I picked up one of Josh'd bargain noob SSD's... it arrived well packaged but it had 2 flaws

    1. Speck of dust on the inside of the crystal.

    2. Weak pimple pearl.

I'm only human so I can only tackle one job at a time, and here are some pics i took to go along with it.

    First off the watch

    beuty.jpg

I used a blue ball from fleabay to open watches..it worked great by the way.

    I pulled out the stem

    pardondust.jpg

And with it the movement and dial came out with ease, i used a small dust blower to remove the unwanted speck and before putting it back together I borrowed some ideas from another tutorial to fix my fading black engravings from the case back.

I used a sharpie as so

    fixingengraving.jpg

Then from the same tutorial I used some nail polish remover and a shirt to wipe out the excess and viola!

Sorry for my crude pictures and well the fact that i can never live up to the great authors and photographers we have on this board, but i tried, and i hope you have enjoyed.

  10. Well it happened, i dropped my Aquaracer.. And now the crown slips when winding, sometimes I can turn the crown counter-clockwise till it clicks a few times and it will catch again in clockwise winding position.

Is this casued ny the fall? or maybe the weak winding gears as The Zigmeister has mentioned on these highbeat 7750's?

And I guess my next and obvious question would be...Am i doomed for a movement swap? Although it sounds like a nice project, and not too difficult with the help of some tutorials on this board.

    Thanks in advance

  11. congrats on your purchase, I have a black dial skyland myself and it sure is a looker.

    wear it in good health.

i would recommend a GT white dial next, just make sure you get the crystal treated by one of our resident AR specialists. Ive worn the GEN it's a thing of beauty and the rep looks incredible once the AR is done.
