  1. It's a beautiful watch that unfortunately flies under the radar of popularity on these boards. Great review/pics/watch
  2. This will be on my wrist most of the week
  3. What a great topic Lani, it reminds me of soo many stories I have read in my 1+ years as part of this great board, included in those stories was my own run in with my best friends father in-law and his Gen-rep collection. The point is though that although many members here have or could potentially own gen counterparts to their replica watches, the great majority of people who purchase reps simply cannot justify the expense once they factor in the rest of their financial responsibilities. It's why i try to stick to a simple and rough guide that has been shared before in this board....Wear reps of watches you technically could really own.. It's not rocket science and it inst a law we must follow to the T either. Just a common sense thing Most importantly Have Fun!!
  4. I already see hundreds of our members lined up to pay 500-600-700 for this watch...It's the way of the world, not worth complaining about. Very sweet watch, just get it relumed serviced and PVD the SS bracelet and rub it down with CC to match the blacksteel and you got a killer watch..Sure it will run you around $1300 but oh well at a third the cost of GEN it's a steal right
  5. Ahh good choices. You know i was in a similar debate but with the addition of the BCE..and you know what at the end I got neither of the three, instead that same week the SKylandV2 was released and I had to get after Lanikai's review. The UPO is more wearable IMO, more subtle and at the same time has a great presence (mind you i don't own one yet) The Graham, is beautiful in all it's glory and size but that can also be it's greatest downfall since you almost need a special occasion just to put it on. In any case both are great watches and if you don't mind the incorrect and slightly crooked omega logo on the UPO then I would put my vote on that one.
  6. I adore that orange bezel PO..Terrific choice, I have chunky wrists so i would have spit out the cash for the larger 45mm version, but this one sits nice on your wrist. And like all the other gentlemen in this thread have mentioned thus far, your avatar is FTMFW..
  7. Upgrade your account and you will see it all....The truth will set you free (from making a $1300 mistake at least) Your welcome!
  8. Is this one pictured by Dave the 300 dollar one that Josh/Andrew have on their site right now? If so, I can live with that till the much improved ULTIMATE 1:1 Supreme is released... It's one sub that I can actually sink my teeth into, maybe just needs the lume modded (if possible)
  9. Welcome, that is a nice big step you took there but an important one none the less. Naturalized cuban since 02'
  10. omgwtfbbq? l0v3 RWG or h4t3 it noobs!!
  11. Well if it is the SFSO case then it would be easy to drop your old steelfish (asian) dial into this thing and not have to fork over the $350 to have saphire and AR and as a benefit you get a cleaner looking pearl. Just an idea
  12. that is very stunning, congrats on the home made piece. Do you know if larger cases are available with similar specs as the one you purchased avitt..i ask because I followed your link from ebay but the language barrier really sticks it to me and doing a search in our own english ebay shows worthless results if any. Wear your piece in good health!
  13. Wow I see what you mean about the AR...you could barely make out the color of the dial on the Tag to the right
  14. Quite the imagintaion I must say, and as far fetched as the idea is i'll run with it.. I would risk it, there is no crime when you have done nothing wrong in your own judgment. As long as drug dealers and hookers walk this earth, we will have acces to any and all our whims regardless of how illicit they may be...but certainly with a fee.
  15. Congrats on your purchases, I voted for the 3717 as well, it looks beautiful as is, when you do the mods planned you will have a wonderful watch to sport around town. And the Corum regardless of it's larger size should feel great for those days that allow you to use the short sleeve shirts.. Post pics when you get a chance, we'd love to see them.
  16. Believe me as much as I love watches, I would be a fool to go buy a gen Skyland (no offense to those who have purchased one or any gen for that matter) but the truth is, that with such small flaws I can easily relume the thing change bracelet and BAM it would take a a microscope and a RWG member to spot it as a replica. From now on, i'll be more frank about my colection, maybe he will show me what he's got and I can see if they are quality "swiss" replica's or just canal street junk that he thinks are "quality"
  17. Haha I'd like to think i'm a better liar than old Bill But yes it was wrong, and actually I won't make much of it unless the topic comes up. I guess to close this long topic off, I'd like to say that I got a pretty nice mix of "tell the truth" "deal with it" "buy a gen" and i'll just make some sort of hybrid response for this person. But beleive me never again, the lesson was learned. I either tell the truth straight up or be more clever with my responses.
  18. Well i'm certain i will see him many times before the years over and well hopefully more often for the personal reasons I already mentioned, but he does buy some reps, what they are excatly I cannot say as I have not seen them, maybe the Timewalker GMT he flashed at me was a rep..who knows? And Fakemaster, you can rest assured that I will come clean, we share an admiration of timepieces not so much their declared value.
  19. Ok lets see. For starters he is not a rude man and did not ask me the price, his brother was in the same room (he is not into watches one bit and walks around with some sort of JCPenny Bulova two tone.. Well that guy threw out the comment that watchcollecting is an expensive hobby..and me without putting to much thought into my words said "yeah this skyland is about 2800" those were my exact words (translated to english of course, becasue this conversation was in spanish) All in all I can pull off a more expensive Gen watch, but i happened to be wearing this one in possibly the wrong crowd and at the wrong moment. But again thank you for your kind and helpfull words
  20. I probably won't see the man for another 2 weeks... And ive decided to just show up next time wearing my cheapest rep a Pam 111h and just tell him this is ONE of my reps and see where things go from there and if the [censored] hits the fan...oh well
  21. Wow talk about having a bad concious...it's killing me... But thanks gentlemen your advise so far is greatly appreciated. I'll clarify a few points based on your comments. 1. He has the financial means to burn some cash on gens 2. I doubt his knowledge on watches is as deep as any veteran here 3. My biggest concern is his rep collection as he mentioned he got those online and I worry it could be from our trusted dealers in which case my Skyland and Aquaracer will be bad choices to wear around him.
  22. I'll make a long boring story short, and hopefully you guys can help me outta this predicament. Recently I became very acquainted with the family of my best friends fiance. Her father is big into watches and after she noticed I rotated my watches she brought out that point wich I happily replied with the generic "Thats great, I'm sure hes got great taste in watches" Well the weeks passed and the topic was thrown around a few more times, how her dad and I had that passion for watches. This weekend that past i was invited to join my buddy to his future in-laws house and well as soon as i got out of my car he spots my Skyland.... In a very cool tone (as i was preparing myself mentally for all this) responded how he had a great eye and that yes i had recently acquired this piece adn was very happy with it. Within the course of one day he brought me a Corum with a gold bezel that was beautiful a Montblanc Timewalker GMT and talk on and on about his watches and their prices. He also managed to squeeze in a short line about a small collection of "replica's with swiss movements"...but that was quick and he didn't make much of it to be honest. The part that bothered me the most is how I told him my SKyland was around 3K.... SO in essence I told him my watch was a gen. I felt bad, the guy was very nice to me, he welcomed me to his home and we chatted about watches for a few hours and appreciated every minute of it, as much as i did. Am i stuck? Considering I will be seeing this guy more often since I will be walking in my best friends wedding and all. And hes got another very attractive (and single) daughter PS If hes a memebr here, I"M SORRY...Sir
  23. If they release that with a Blacksteel bracelet...I'm all over it
  24. By-Tor, excellent review as ussual. The pictures get a 10 And the review/history lesson on Ebel get a 10 as well. Beautiful watch wear it well. Rxus
