  1. Two years ago I got a ladies DJ with Oyster bracelet from Trusty. Watch is still good but the clasp was flimsy from the beginning, not securing tightly and now one the of the spring bars has broken :(

Spoken to Andrew about it but he can only get the entire bracelet.

Does anyone know of a place to get quality rep. oyster clasps for lady DJs?

  2. Guys, I'm thrilled to finally get some answers - thank you!

kbh & Nanuq, yes - it does start running (and runs for about two days when left to rest), so the winding mechanism does work. And Nanuq & MD202 - I'm sure you're right on track with your points, it probably just needs a good lube, that's all. But at least now I know that the watch isn't faulty!

    Thank you very much, guys.

  3. kbh, bless your heart for reaching out - thanks!!

Okay, so the good news is, it is actually meant to be wind up manually - good to know! Bad news is... mine does absolutely not feel "easy and smooth"! It's hard to explain how it feels, the best way is actually letting you have a listen to how it sounds like. I have made a 20 second recording using a highly sensitive microphone. First you can hear the sound of my cheap Sub when wound, followed by the new DJ (with the ETA in it). Does this sound right to you??

  4. No one? Guys, I realize this is a noob question! I have been doing my homework, I have searched the forum (didn't find an answer), searched on Google (found a trillion links to fishy repsites I didn't feel like clicking), hell I even asked the seller, who gave a rather vague answer that didn't really help. And I really don't wanna ruin the watch.

So, can anyone please answer this simple question: does an ETA 2671-2 movement require manual winding? If no, fine :) If yes, is it supposed to feel like you're just rubbing two pieces of paper against each other when you do it? :g:

  5. I was called out once by a friend of mine, who happens to be quite the WIS himself, and wears a gen Omega Seamaster PO. Mine is a PO chrono, and since he knows me well enough to know that I probably couldn't afford the real deal he once said (in a completely non-gloating way I might add); "I like your watch, but it's a rep, right?" I just smiled and replied "of course it is!" We then compared watches and apart from my version's obvious flaws he thought it was quite nice, and that was it, really. I didn't feel "outed" in an uncomfortable way at all, because of the fact that he knew what he was talking about. Had it been some douchebag I probably would've went with some of the answers given here!

  6. I'm sure this is a total noob question, but I just purchased a rep with a 2671-2 automatic movement. It is of course self-winding, but I already own a Sub rep with an unknown movement which is self-winding, but also needs a manual wind-up from time to time.

When I try manually winding the 2671-2 it doesn't feel right, so maybe it doesn't requite manual winding, but just wanna be sure.

  7. Okay, one word goes through my mind right now: WOW!!!!!!! I ordered the watch in question October 4th, it arrived in Sweden yesterday, and I picked it up today!!! Holy sh!t, that's fast!!! I was expecting AT LEAST a two week delivery! Incredible!

As for the watch.... well, dunno what I had expected, but let's just say the QC pics sold it well. I ordered this one: http://www.ttw168.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_13&products_id=1866 (Lady SS DateJust, $238) so it wasn't excatly the cheapest rep out there, but even my totally untrained eye do see some problems: the date cyclop is not perfectly centered above the date window (a little low), the clasp feels a little flimsy and I had expected the signing inside the clasp to be stamped, but in fact it is etched - is that normal?

Anyhoo, I'm not gonna return it. My girlfriend will not notice anyway, and overall I'm quite happy with this first experience of buying a rep online. But I'll probably be more picky the next time, tho.

I do have one question, and it's a toooootal noob one: it has an ETA 2671-2 movement - I know it's an automatic, but does it require manual winding as well? I tried it, but it sounds and feel wrong, so I'm guessing it doesn't, just wanted to be sure.

  8. I was just about to post the exact same question as the OP, but found this old thread instead, and since the topic is more than four years old... has anyone repped any of these beauties by now? I saw someone has been asking about the Torpedo, but I'm more interested in the Prominente and Espendidos range.
