  1. Be warned that RA does poor work and charges a lot of money for that. I made the mistake to blindly trust a few reviews. Can't recommend his work at all.
  2. Yeah, it's F***ing annoying, I had the same issue the other day. Forum doesn't support IMG tags anymore - for whatever reason.
  3. Thanks! My dial is supposed to be original and not refinished (can you tell?), so I wanted to find some original radium hands as well. I found omega hands on eBay that look spot on, NOS radium hands, I will try to broach their tubes to make them work with the Vj movement... But first I need to buy a hazmat so I don't breath in radium dust the packaging of the hands already took their toll from the radiation.
  4. The issue is not the lume, the hands on mine were replaced with ugly pocket watch hands (the picture above is not my watch, see my watch below).
  5. My recent Vintage Heuer acquisition came with replacement hands and I need the large hour and minute hands below for my Heuer watch. Doesn't have to be NOS, I'll also settle for aftermarket hands if I have to, but I haven't been able to find that style of hands anywhere. Any idea what are these hands called? I need them for a Heuer Valjoux 23/72
  6. That's easy to fix, you should be able to do that with sandpaper and a bit of patience! I slimmed the entire profile of a Yuki case just with sandpaper (because I didn't have anything else back then). I have a 6536/1 on the bench that could benefit from that as well, I'll post a pics when I do the work! MQs engravings (between lugs, case-back) are way ahead of Phongs, now that would be something that's more difficult to fix
  7. Here you go (I changed the plexi for a T17, in the build thread it's a T19): https://rwg.cc/topic/181883-57-rlx-6538-2-liner-w-gilt-dial-and-fat-bevels
  8. Hello from paradise! Not afraid to Dive deep with this one. Salt water should add some nice patina to the outside of the brass bezel.
  9. If you knew! I need to sit down for a few days and finish what's on my bench.... 6536/1, 2x6538, 6538A, 6541, 6542, 6239, 2x6263, 2x1665, 1680... And to top it off, just finished a 6152/1 that was 10 years on hold! I even explored my options of making a DRSD bezel mold and fill it with silver
  10. I need to find a gen dial plate and try to get one done like this as much as I'd love to pry it off of your wrist, I have to say, great piece to forever keep in your collection!!
  11. did the dark lord make that one for you? looks fantastic!
  12. Aren't they already 99% to gen spec? the underside of the lugs may need a bit of shaping to get that upside-down "moustache" profile look from the side:
  13. While building my Franken 6538 a few months ago, I was in absolute tunnel vision mode. I amassed way more parts than I needed, because.... because why not?!??! Here it goes. You start contemplating about dials, then you learn about GILT dials, but a GILT dial is bloody expensive, so you get a cheap(er) non-GILT dial and instantly regret getting one. So of course you have to get another dial, this time a GILT dial. Yes, that's better! Now what do you do with the old dial? No idea. OH, someone wants to get rid of their tiger case, maybe I could use the cheap dial for that? Done deal. Hm, wow, this case looks bigger than I expected, I guess 1.5mm in diameter does make a huge difference, eh? So what now? Let's buy a Dremel. While we're at it, let's get the whole damn shebang. Why? Because it sucks when you are just about to finish building a watch and all that's missing is a tube or a screw and you don't have one at hand. OK. Rotary Tool Workstation, Flex Shaft, Vise, Carbide Burrs, Polishing Set, Safety Goggles, 100s of drills in 0.1mm increments, taps & dies, 20 different stem adapters and lots of other goodies... Let's Play! Did I already mention that the Tiger/HR/Silix case looks hideous compared to a real 6538 Case? Doesn't matter, I'll just mention it again, because it does. It's diameter is 38.22mm excl. crown, but it should be 37mm. 1.22mm doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it looks like much! It's not an expensive case, so let's just experiment. WorkStation, Sanding wheel & a Vise should to the job. Here are some pictures of the WIP: We're getting closer... ...and closer... trimming the lip for a proper case-profile from the side halfway through checking in...not quite there yet... almost... a little more polishing... voilà to be continued
  14. Whoever guts a Heuer Watch for a Daytona build should be shot in the kneecap!
  15. That dial is not the same as MQ. I have an MQ dial and the fonts are different (look at the depth rating). The gilt effect and lacquer is also different. See my post for comparison pictures:
  16. Neither 3 nor 9 look aligned to me, but could be the angle and/or distortion.
  17. Any tips where I can get a decent jubilee bracelet?
  18. Does someone know how long the Milgauss hands are? Are these the same hands that were used on the Rolex 6565? Both refs have the same base caliber (1030) Here are the two gen watches, hands looks pretty similar to me, hence my question about the size. 6541 6565
  19. Oh god it's awful. I offer you 25$!
  20. Try contacting the dealer that sold you the watch. They will often sell you the parts at cost if you cover shipping.
  21. Rolex ref. 6265 has a steel bezel, 6263 the black plastic. Not sure what type of case this is, if there was a MysteryMovement in it before, you won't be able to fit a Vj72, you have to use a Vj23 instead. Another possibility is that it's a case for a 7750 movement, in which case you can use neither Dial nor case with a Vj72/Vj23. Looks like a Vj72/Vj23 dial to me, but I can't really tell from your cropped pictures.
  22. Fantastic, thank you! Just have to wait for a new Crystal
  23. I had to wait 3 weeks or more for a single case, I doubt his supplier has a lot of capacity. May explain why he wanted 600$ from nanuq for a dial and why the cases got more expensive. Supply and Demand.
  24. Interesting that you mention fake English... What makes you think that? The replies I got were all in the middle of the night (4am) for most parts of south east Asia, which made me question whether he's really based there. Otherwise Definitely a middleman. He admitted that someone else send the case when I confronted him about the case that didn't match the picture he send me.
